Considering help...

Hello all.:-)

Well i have been suffering with stuff for quite a while now, and i feel that its time i take some action. I say stuff because i dont know whats wrong with me. I have been to the doctors about a year ago and he diagnosed me with depression and i went for about 5 months on different meds and went through some sort of counselling. However i came off these because i wasnt coping ( i know sounds silly doesn't it) but i havent gotten any better. I have put this off for a long time because of school and exams, but now they are over im kinda in limbo and not doing well. Reading posts on here and variuos other things have helped me to relaise i won't just get better, and that i do need help, as scay as this is going to be!

So basically I am going to go off to my doctor as soon as possible to talk to him about all of this. However i thought i would just ask if anyone has any advice for admitting you have a problem and what have people gotten out of seeing their doctors?

thank you and my apologies for a pointless post! x

*update* well i have just been to the doctors eventually, and yeh i back on meds. But i just wanted to say thank you for all the kind words of encouragment and the support, it was much appreciated =) thank you x

No worries. Make it first thing tomorrow and promise yourself you wont cancel it. Remember seeing the Dr is the first step to stopping all this rubbish you're feeling x

yes thats very true, i think im going to write it all down before i go in there so i dont forget anything or i dont get tongue tied. I just want all this to stop!

ahh, Ok so i got myself all ready to make that appointment, however my Doctor is away for a week. The last time i tried to see another doctor i clamed up. I dont know what to do, but i really do need to see someone.
:-(

well if you write down what you want to say then it wont matter if you clam up. Drs will be used to nervous patients. If you really dont want to see another GP then maybe just keep getting support in here for a week and book an appointment for as soon as she is back. *hugs*

Hang on until your doctor comes back! I know it's hard to admit you're suffering but no one can help you unless they know what you need. Writing everything down now is a great thing to do because in the next week you might try to talk yourself out of going to the doctor. I can't tell you how many times I've talked myself out of my feelings. I end up waiting far too long and everything falls apart. Being able to read about how you feel will remind you that you do need to go!

thank you for the support everyone :-) . I think ive decided to wait until he comes back , its annoying but whats another week in 4 years i suppose! Ill just try and keep myself busy and safe....well i shall try anyway! x
