Internet in my student halls..
 

I just found out my internet in student accomodation will be wireless. Now, I never got a wireless adaptor for my xbox because i'm cheap, and my PC doesn't have a wireless networking card.

I believe that there is a piece of hardware that can pickup the wireless signal, and has ethernet ports on it, so you can effectively turn wireless into wired? Does anyone know the name of said hardware, and a good brand for it?

They're about a tenner per reciever

Also, do you have a laptop?

Lan cable + Network bridge using the laptops wi-fi?

Just buy a wireless dongal there fairly cheap these days.
