need to know
the symptoms of an ulcer.
thanks romp |
I found some stuff online for you.
Here are the basic symptoms; There may be no symptoms of ulcers or the individual may experience: A gnawing or burning pain in the abdomen between the breastbone and the navel. The pain is usually worse a couple of hours after a meal or in the middle of the night when the stomach is empty. Nausea Vomiting Loss of appetite Loss of weight Tiredness (a symptom of a bleeding ulcer) Weakness (a symptom of a bleeding ulcer) Blood in vomit or stool. When blood is in the stool, it appears tarry or black (symptom of a bleeding ulcer) This is a useful fact sheet i found, http://hcd2.bupa.co.uk/fact_sheets/h...tic_ulcer.html Hope you're alright. |

Sounds like you should see your doctor if you're vomiting blood.
They'll be able to help and give you tips on preventing getting any more. |
What symptoms do you have?
What does the vomit look like? Is it bright red? Or does it look a little like coffee grounds? |
started out a little bit red then was just DARK, really dark. Both times last night and the times previous.
Plus bad pain. I get heartburn from damn near everything too. Nothing ease it. My stomach still hurts from last night and all ive chanced is water. I know i should get it checked. Going to try on monday Is it still a barium test for one? What will they do if it is? Just diet changes/meds? <-- I guess you cant really answer that, depens how severe it is. Just i guess looking for the push to go get it checked. I know it isnt good...but it only happens once in awhile so its easy to just shrug it off... thanks Kim. romp |
Ok, well that would be indicative of upper bleeding.
You will need to see a doctor for a ful examination. Again as you said its hard to determine the treatment and diagnosis. IF your doctor suspects an ulcer, expicaly if he thinks it has perferated, then he is likly to request a endoscopy in order to confirm the diagnoisis. If it is an ulcer, it is possible for him to treat it at the same time. You may be givenmedication for a few months as well. Definetly worth getting it checked out though. Take care Kim |
