therapy

Hello people

Does anyone know where to get good help in the way of therapy?
i feel very lost and alone right now, i have a couple of good friends but they dont know or understand what im going through.

I see a practice therapist but the sessions are short and rare, also she is encouraging me to look for other help myself. I dont really know what to do, im not on meds and iv been free for a couple of months but the urges are very strong at the moment and i feel like im at risk of loosing control and doing something stupid........

I really want to make this better, but im not sure if i can do it alone and i dont know where to look for the right kind of help

any suggestions would be apperciated

:hehe:

If you're in the UK your GP or an organisation like MIND would probably know of services in your area? Is the practice therapist someone attached to your GP surgery? Or there might be support groups (Google it?) and people in those groups would probably know lots of places through their own experience.

Hi, yes the practice therapist is attached to the GP, i have looked around online but i only seem to be able to find private therapists and counsellors, all of which are more money than i could afford....

not sure if there is anything NHS or not

Feel like im running out of options

the Community Mental Health Team (are they still called that?) would probably know of NHS provision, or, as I said, look for MIND (in the phone book or Google... or you could ask at your local library - you can always say its for your sister!) and they would know what's around and may offer support groups etc

there may be a local volunteer centre/volunteer bureau that would have lists of local non-profits, including those dealing with mental health

or if you put the region you live/nearest big town people here might know of places or some good starting points
