good reason

So I slipped up again. I haven't cut in about a year, but I did last night. It was bad, I needed stitches. I just flat out told the Dr. It made it all go a lot faster, and she wasn't taking any of my initial bs. I am in therapy and will deal with this then, but for now I need an explanation.

I tend to make one deep cut rather than many, so when they happen they are easier to explain, but I don't have anything this time. It is on my forearm on the upper side about 4 inches from my wrist. People are going to ask, from my friends to people at work as it is bandaged.

I was thinking of saying I burned myself on the oven making food, as this would explain the location, but its bloody and I have stitches, so if anyone sees it before it gets to a scar, they will know its not a burn.

Any better ideas? I have a previous one that I could pass off as a cooking injury obtained when chopping vegetables, but this location might make that a stretch.

Thanks.

I actually have a cut there ( not as bad by the sounds of it) and used that excuse (oven) it worked for people that i didnt no that well because I work with ovens at work about once a week.
But in all honesty, to my friends that used to SI themselves and know how much I used to do it, I dont think they really believed me, they called me alot the few weeks after "just to chat". Making sure I no im not alone :)
My advice, just keep it bandaged and say the doctor said he'd change the bandages because its a burn. I no your situation, and u dont want people flying into a frenzy over one slip.
Best of luck in the future :)

I agree with crimsondrummer. Best to keep it bandaged around people and use your burn excuse and change your bandages when no one else is around till the stage where it can be passed off as a burn not a cut.

Sorry to her about your slip, but a year is amazing and i hope after this you can keep going :)
Hope this helped

thanks

Thanks, for the advice and support. My main problem is that it bleeds a lot and I have been having some problems with moving my hand and pain in my arm, this is difficult to explain by a burn... I was an idiot, both to return to cutting and to do so this badly...
