Horrible Head Ache

This isn't self-harm related but its becoming intolerable.

I've had a head ache for 2 days straight, a very very bad one. I've taken 2 aspirin every 4 hours all day and its still killing me. I'm wearing my contacts (well right now at night my glasses) so its not a vision thing. I'm not particularly stressed or sleepy. I've not been eating as much as I should and I've purged but not drastically and thats never caused me head aches before. Just wondering if anyone has any things that work to get rid of headaches for them??

Thank you guys <3

Two days sounds like a long time to me. It might be a good idea to go to a doctor since you don't know what's causing it, and since things hurting is usually your body's way of letting you know something's wrong, and your brain is in there, I think there are a few things that would be worth catching sooner rather than later. Appart from that, I think that ibuprofen tends to work better than asprin, but I'd still suggest seeing a doctor.

i would go back to your dr could it be stress because i know when i'm stressed i get bad headaches and when did you last get your eyes tested because even thou your wearing your contacts if you need a stronger prescription it can give you headaches i hope it gets sorted out and keep us updated

I don't have any ways to get rid of them. As mentioned above, going to the doctor would be your best bet. Do you still have a headache and can you give a general location of where it hurts the most?

Are you drinking enough fluids? I always get terrible headaches when i'm dehydrated. Do the headaches get worse when your using the computer/wathing tv? If so you could have eyestrain or maybe you need a stronger perscription for your contacts/glasses.

Okay sorry I haven't updated in a while.
I called my doctor, told him what was wrong. He told me to take Motrin, he said it tends to be stronger than what i'm taking now. I took some last night and woke up this morning, the head ache isn't gone but its a lot less intense. To answer the some questions it was in my forehead kind of behind my eyes and it was a sharp stabbing pain. It didn't change whilst watching tv/computer/reading. But he also wants me to get my eyes tested to i'm going to my optician tomorrow and if my prescription is still fine then i have to make an appointment to go in and see him.
Thanks for the advice everyone <33

That's great that it's not as intense and that you are getting it checked out. :)

You kind of described the only headaches I ever get: migraines. I've had a few that have lasted 3-5 days, though thankfully most leave after sleeping. Mine usually feel like they are over or around one of my eyes (usually the left eye for me), and a lot of times it does feel like a stabbing pain right there, and being on the computer or watching tv never makes any difference than if I'm around any other light. Usually I don't know what my migraine triggers are, and therefore I just have to stay out of all light and away from all sound for hopes of the fastest recovery (though sadly I've become used to these little boogers--they still hurt like hell--so I don't always need to seclude myself anymore because I've found sometimes no matter what I do the pain is bloody awful), but I've had some that feel slightly different caused from a bad eyeglass presciption.

If you are having migraines there are a whole mess of presciptions that help. I never got any of them to work for me, and have found taking ibuprofin (or a couple of advil which is basically ibuprofin) is good for relieving them.

If you think that's what you might be having I'd be happy to try and find some good articles for you or tell you anything else that I can think of on the subject concerning my experiences or what I've read or been told.
