a question about waiting lists and stuff

I'm currently on a waiting list, but I've just done some maths...

I'm on this list for approximately another 16months, but in about 20months I might be leaving Aberdeen...

so... questions:

1. If I move before my first session do I start on a waiting list at the start again in the new place or will they take into account the 2 years of waiting before moving?
2. If I have a few months of therapy here and then move will I be back to being on a waiting list?

at the moment I am basically staying on the list as there is a chance that I might stay in Aberdeen, I'm really not sure what I'll be doing yet...
but now I've realised this it's worrying me... so I thought I would ask and see if anyone knew how it would work if I did end up moving

thanks

I'm pretty sure with both scenarios you'd be back to being on a waiting list unfortunately.

well that sucks... I've been on lists for over 2 years now and only gotten 4 weeks out of therapy out of it before getting put on a new list...

meh. shouldn;'t moan. will cross that bridge when come to it I guesss lol

thanks

I noticed that you're a student, does the uni have its own counsellors?

yes... but I'm on a waiting list for psychotherapy. tried the uni counseling service several times but they told me they couldn't help me and made me go to a doctor...

It sucks, the waiting list in dundee was about 2 years. Only reason i got in sooner was because i complained of being really suicidal.

I hate to say it but its like the worser you are, the more help you get sooner. Other than that you are put on a waiting list.

I guess... well I have been "Bumped up" the list... it was meant to be 24months, not it's only 16months... but not sure that makes a whole load of difference really...

I first went to a doctor almost 3 years ago now... took 6 months for them to do anything at all and that was only after a suicide attempt... in feburary I finally got to the top of a waiting list, I got 4 sessions before getting referred again and now on a new list...

you should go back to the doctors and tell them how bad things are, i hate to say lie, but if you really need the help, then you might have to.

well I'm at the doctors on thursday as need to get my electrolytes and kidney checked as NHS24 ordered me too...
and I'm there next week for med related stuff...

so I will try to bring it up when I'm there...

I've just found out I have a counseling appointment tomorrow to be put on a waiting list there, so i guess something is happening lol
