Adult Mental Health Service *trigger*
 

I had my first metting there today and I feel lost and alone.
They have said that before I can get any help i'm going to have to wait 6-8months. My now old psych wasn't happy but there is nothing she can do. I feel lost, i told them i think about killing myself all the time and even have plans + my thoughts of self-harm and how much i'm hurting myself is getting worse.
I'm now all on my own and don't know what to do.
can anyone help?

Uhh I can't help personally but I think that RYL can! All this waiting that you always have to do is complete rubbish. I don't think the country knows what to do because there is just not the funding available to make it better. How about your local crisis team, if there is one? Or you could talk to the Samaritans [hope I'm allowed to name them] or another kind of similar organisation. *hugs* Even if it's not what you want in the long run, maybe something like that would help you until you can get the help you need? xx

they said if i ever need help to go to A&E.

i'm in a similar position, been on waiting lists for nearly a year and apparently got another 18months left... and 4 months before I can see a psychiatrist and make my diagnosis (which is currently unofficially but being used anyway as only given by a psychologist) official...


as has been said helplines are brilliant. maybe you could do a search in your area for support groups and stuff too? or go to your GP and see if there is anything they could advise (I got given a card for a counseling service by mine and a leaflet of a "mental health support group")

Is there any charity organisations such as mind in your area that you could go to for some support? *hugs* xxxxx

I went to my GP today coz i've been ill for a month now and everything i've been given is not working so i told him everything but he said there is nothing he can do. But he did give me some sleeping tablets as i've been finding sleeping really hard atm.
I just feel like i've been on my own for soo long and I put all my hope into something coming out of the appointment but nothing came out of it.
