Vegetarians. :D
Hello. I was just wondering if there were any vegetarians out there. :hehe:
|
Hello :)
Yes, veg right here! |
Vegetarian here also.
There's a fairly large bunch of us I think |
I tried to be once, but I couldn't do it.
|
me! but i would call myself a non-meat/fish eater. somewhere in my head i only allow myself to consider "proper" vegetarians as being vegans. or fruitarians (and they're just weird. no, i'm kidding, if there are any fruitarians out there :S) i eat Haribo sweets anyway so, yeah, i suck.
|
I wish i was. I dont like the thought of meat but i eat anyways :/
|
I love vegetarians. They are delicious. (Although, yes. Technically pigs are omnivores.)
|
something we do in childcare little debates seeing as your a vegetarian if you ever have kids would you "force" them to be veggie or let them have own choice...
|
btw, fake meats like quorn or whatever is sooo much nicer :)
|
Im a vegetarian!!
pretty new, only been for about 2 months now! |
I wouldn't force them to do anything. My beliefs are my own, and I do think it's unfair to force your children to adhere to your behaviour. However, I would provide them with both meat and non-meat based meals, so that they can learn to cook both types, and still get the nutritional balance.
It bugs me when people say "but how can you live without meat?!" - it's not essential, especially considering the vast amounts of meat substitutes that there are now, and you can have really quite lovely meals without relying on meat, too. |
Im veggie :)
LOL i made a thread on here once about it, i'm sure some people will remember it!! |

I think in a few thousand years virtually everyone will be vegetarian, our evolution seems to be swinging that way. Plus it doesn't kill the planet and it's way more energy efficient. And it's cheaper, woo! I'm a vegetarian in case no one's worked it out yet. |
My sister and I have been vegetarian since birth. My Mum is vegetarian. However when we went to school and had school dinners we had the choice of wether we wanted to remain vegetarian or not. I think that was the most sensible way of doing things, after all it's a lot of hassle to cook more than one meal for a family and I also think offering kids too many options encourages fussiness and faddy eating. We were always made to eat what was put in front of us and as a result there are only a few things that I dislike.
Also vegetarianism is so much healthier for you than eating meat, to me it's kind of like asking if you'd feed your kids healthy meals or cook them junkfood sometimes as they should make their own decision. Sure when they're old enough to go out and have it with friends or cook it themselves in the house, but I'd never provide them with meat or junk food. |
i always find the fake meats alot more expensive. I know you dont have to eat the fake meats but yeah!
*waddles off to cook linda mccartney pies :)* |
i wouldn't cook my children meat. but i would certainly allow my husband to (if he was comfortable with it) and my children can of course choose to eat meat whilst we are out or visiting other families.
to be honest, i think as a child it is much more important that you get a good, healthy, balanced diet rather than choosing your diet all the time. i got what i was given as a kid. if i didn't eat it, i didn't eat. i grew up healthy. it's only being in charge of my own diet that i've messed up. |
