Cacoethes 19-01-2023 07:59 PM

I can imagine it's frustrating.
Sometimes it is needed though!
No point in pushing yourself because that will probably end up with even more time spent in bed!

long road 19-01-2023 08:17 PM

Yeah trying to be sensible and not push it.

I might try and get hold of GP if still feeling rough tomorrow as I did hit my head. Think it's normal FND symptoms though.

Cacoethes 19-01-2023 08:33 PM

Better to be safe than sorry!
Especially when it comes to head injuries!

long road 19-01-2023 08:41 PM

True that. I will see how I am in the morning. Like I said think I am fine just a headache where I hit it.

tamobhuuta 19-01-2023 08:47 PM

I hope your head is ok Road.

I am in a grump because they want to do an ecg after they've done night meds, and I just want to sleep.

long road 19-01-2023 08:54 PM

I am sure I will be fine Tamo. Plus I don't live alone so there is someone to check on me.

That is frustrating. ECG sticky pads are annoying and sleep is great but I am sure it's for a good reason. Could you nap and just let them wake you up when they get round to doing ECG or would being disturbed be worse?

Cacoethes 19-01-2023 09:00 PM

What an odd time of day to do an ecg!
I've had them done late but only in emergencies!
Even with clozapine it was only a blood pressure check at night before and after meds. Ecgs were always done during the day!
At least they don't take long

not_so_insig 19-01-2023 09:07 PM

I tried going to the bin and nearly went flying ! This was at 2 pm. Stayed indoors all day.

Lindsay I don't live in an isolated place but my village is on the side of an mountain and nowhere is flat. We get really bad snow in the winter and to get anywhere you need snow tyres. It's been particularly bad this time around as the gritters haven't been whereas normally they get to us. Unfortunately the pavements are lethal in the ice and snow. I am not too clever on my feet at the best of times so am scared of breaking a bone.
Especially today as the ambulance people are on strike today.

Cacoethes 20-01-2023 08:35 AM

Morning everyone!

tamobhuuta 20-01-2023 10:12 AM

Morning Cacoethes. How are you?

My ecg was such a falafel, took half an hour. Apparently it wasn't good, they're going to talk about it at the morning meeting.

Edit
So they want to do another ecg but the machine doesn't work!

Cacoethes 20-01-2023 10:28 AM

I'm ok thanks.
Been to asda, pharmacy, poundland and aldi.
Work later.
I realised in the pharmacy that i forgot to get coffee in asda, i just happened to glance into poundland on the way past and they had my usual sachets a whole 20p cheaper! So lucky i forgot them in asda really!

Ah that sucks.
Hope it turns out ok.

one_step_closer 20-01-2023 12:57 PM

Hi everyone. I hope you all have a good day.

I hope your ECG is ok if they get the machine to work, Tamo.

You've been quite busy already, Beckie. I'm glad you got your coffee sachets cheaper by chance. You know where to go for them now!

tamobhuuta 20-01-2023 12:59 PM

The machine worked! After all that kerfuffle they are putting me back on bisiprolol (sp?)

one_step_closer 20-01-2023 01:02 PM

Are you ok?

tamobhuuta 20-01-2023 01:30 PM

Yeah I'm ok. How's your day going?

one_step_closer 20-01-2023 02:42 PM

Will the med help? It's nothing too serious is it? Sorry, I worry about people!

I didn't have much on my to do list today and have got things done so far. Still have small things to do but I don't do them till later. Feeling quite low though. What have you been doing?

tamobhuuta 20-01-2023 03:17 PM

Sorry you're feeling low, well done for getting things done.

I hope the med will help, it's for my heart. I was on it before but they stopped it because it was affecting my blood pressure too.

long road 20-01-2023 04:51 PM

Hopefully the med helps out Tamo.

I have only just woken up after a rough night. Looks like it's another day in bed for me.

one_step_closer 20-01-2023 04:58 PM

Fingers crossed, Tamo. How has your day been otherwise?

Sorry you're not doing too well, Jen. I hope you have better nights soon.

long road 20-01-2023 05:03 PM

I hope so too. It's swings and roundabouts really in December I had my longest period dissociative seizure free. Just in a bit of a spiral and not sure how to get out of it.

How has your day been?

one_step_closer 20-01-2023 06:22 PM

Has it been like this before? Can you think of anything that helped in the past? If you need to rest then that's ok. I really hope you can get to a more comfortable place soon.

My day has been a bit of a struggle but just getting on with it.

long road 20-01-2023 06:41 PM

It has been bad before and it's been worse than this as well. Finding it hard to think what I was doing differently etc. when had good period. Partly I think resting and taking things gently is very important it's just frustrating. I think before Christmas I was in a more positive mindset so looking after myself was easier / I had better motivation and less negative emotions to trigger me. Holding out some hope for final therapy review next week to help me back onto right track.

Sorry to hear it's been a bit of a struggle today but well done for keeping going through it.

In more positive news I am enjoying watching Australian survivor. It's a bit of a guilty pleasure as it's a reality show bit it has fun challenges and interesting game theory play.

one_step_closer 20-01-2023 06:46 PM

I hope your therapy review helps. Do whatever safe things you have to do right now.

What kind of challenges does the show have? It's good you have something you enjoy watching.

long road 20-01-2023 07:08 PM

It has puzzles and physical challenges ( strength or endurance or throwing etc).

In the beginning of the game they are split into two teams (known as tribes). There are two types of challenges reward and immunity. The tribe that loses the immunity challenge each episode go to tribal council and vote people out. Once it becomes an individual game everyone goes to tribal but only the person who wins challenge is immune.

In early game a lot of them are some sort of team obstacle course with a puzzle or throwing challenge at the end..Later on there are who can balance the longest, hang onto a pole the longest, build a tower to the top first, sort of challenges.

Cacoethes 20-01-2023 07:47 PM

Hey everyone!

Sorry not ignoring people but I'm exhausted and can't take in that many posts! XD
It was a very busy day and for most of it I was kinda on the bar on my own but it's all good!
I didn't get to pee for the whole shift XD

tamobhuuta 20-01-2023 08:23 PM

Well done surviving Cacoethes! What are you doing to relax tonight?

I'm queueing for meds.

Cacoethes 20-01-2023 08:35 PM

Thanks!
I am watching encanto!

Queueing for meds is the absolute worst thing in hospital! Genuinely!

Cacoethes 21-01-2023 08:35 AM

Morning everyone!

Zurg 21-01-2023 09:51 AM

Morning Beckie :)

…. With every morning i feel like i'm more and more sleep deprived. Which is rather inconvenient.
How are you today, Beckie?? Any plans for the day???

tamobhuuta 21-01-2023 10:00 AM

Morning people.

Zurg 21-01-2023 10:07 AM

Hi Tamo :)
How are you??

Cacoethes 21-01-2023 10:43 AM

Oh no! Can you nap today?
I didn't want to get up this morning!
But I had taekwondo. Then going to mum's until tomorrow

How are you both?

tamobhuuta 21-01-2023 11:04 AM

I'm ok, managed to get up at 9.10! I'm going home for a few hours this afternoon.

I hope you have fun Cacoethes.

How are you Zurg?

Cacoethes 21-01-2023 11:31 AM

Hope you have a good time!

My first bus is running late. Which means I'll most likely miss the connection for 2nd bus and will have to wait an hour :plain:

tamobhuuta 21-01-2023 12:06 PM

Gargh! Frustrating. Are you looking forward to seeing your mum?

long road 21-01-2023 12:08 PM

I actually woke up in the morning this morning! (10:30am but still). Hope this is the start of a bit better sleeping pattern. Not feeling 100% but a load better than last couple of days.

Sleep deprivation sucks Zurg. Hope you have a nice cup of coffee and can take it easy today.

Eurgh! to bus running late Beckie. It sucks when you miss a connection. Hope where you have to wait isn't too boring

Enjoy your home leve Tamo

tamobhuuta 21-01-2023 12:18 PM

I'm glad you're feeling better long road :)

Cacoethes 21-01-2023 12:43 PM

Even more frustratingly, got here 10 mins after 2nd bus is meant to leave, so i went to the toilet, came out and saw my 2nd bus just leaving. If i hadn't gone to the toilet, i would have caught it. Ffs. Now sitting having a hot chocolate i can't afford.

That's good news jen! Glad you're feeling better :)

long road 21-01-2023 12:46 PM

Double eurgh that is really frustrating. Is it at least a tasty hot chocolate?

Thanks Beckie and Tamo, I am still taking it slow but hoping day will be ok. Might have to have a nap in a bit.

Zurg 21-01-2023 12:57 PM

A nap is never a bad idea, Jen!!! I am a huge fan of naps, myself :)
I did the laundry. And maybe i have financially gone bankrupt from having the dryer run for more than an hour (close to an hour and a half, actually…!!!) That thing is an expensive lady!!! Which is why i never check how much i've spent every month doing laundry. I don't need that sort of negativity in my life….

Hope going home for a while Will be nice, Tamo :)

And Beckie, in the occasion of being screwed over by public transport, a hot cocoa is certainly more than justified!!!!

not_so_insig 21-01-2023 01:04 PM

Do you have smart meters in your country zurg? They tell you how much each appliance costs to run and how much you are spending per month. They send an automated meter reading to your supplier so that you get an accurate bill each month. We have them in the UK but not everyone has them. They're pushing to have them in the UK but you can legally refuse to have one.

Cacoethes 21-01-2023 01:05 PM

I seem to run the washing machine so much these days!

Justified maybe. As it is -2!
But an expense i could do without

one_step_closer 21-01-2023 01:38 PM

Hi everyone. I wasn't up when I wanted to be up but got all my housework done.

So much to catch up with here.

I hope you're all having an ok day at least.

Cacoethes 21-01-2023 01:42 PM

Well done for doing the housework!
My house desperately needs a good clean!

I'm nearly at mum's. Thankfully this bus actually goes through their village (road) so I'll have a 5 min walk instead of 20 mins

tamobhuuta 21-01-2023 01:42 PM

L is very kindly picking me up but she hasn't texted me to say she's on her way yet. So I'm watching doctor who :)

one_step_closer 21-01-2023 01:46 PM

That's good, Beckie. I hope you have a nice day.

I hope you also have a nice day, Tamo.

tamobhuuta 21-01-2023 01:55 PM

What are you up to osc?

one_step_closer 21-01-2023 03:27 PM

Trying to stay warm! I read yesterday that the government advises you to have your heating on at 18 degrees so I did that yesterday but changed it back to the way I had it at 16.5 degrees because my smart meter was telling me the gas needed topped up.

tamobhuuta 21-01-2023 03:30 PM

I don't know what our heating is set to. But we have a fire in the living room and I'm wearing an oodie and got a blanket.

one_step_closer 21-01-2023 03:32 PM

You sound toasty. I have a cat on my lap so I'm getting a bit of heat.
