Sorry to hear that lindsay
Take it easy You have a burner account?! What's up with your washing machine? I have just been to asda and to get a coffee. I planned to get a takeaway coffee but i bought too much at asda (mainly cider and iced coffee) so i wouldn't have been able to carry it home, so i had a caramel latte in the cafe. |
I have several :P The only one you're friends with is a certain flat character made of paper? If you don't remember it then that sounds pretty weird I imagine. Then my dead cat has an account and also my old violin that I don't even have anymore...
Washing machine might not have been draining properly so I've cleared out the emergency pipe, cleaned the filter and it's now on a cleaning cycle to clean the drum. Who knows if that will achieve anything *shrug* Hope you enjoyed your coffee! What are you up to the rest of the afternoon? |
after some research it's possible that I'm misusing the term 'burner account' :P
|
Ah yes! Flat gabe!
What happened to him? Fingers crossed for your washing machine! I did enjoy my coffee thanks! I've just been craving coffee today. I had one with my McDonald's breakfast this morning. I'm only craving shop coffee though, not home coffee (which i have none of anyway) I'm not up to anything else really. Need to put washing away and shower but that's about it! It's the most chilled day I've had in a very long time! Yeah i think a burner account is something else XD But i know what you mean anyway! |
Jenna, couldn't you have used a bottle of all in one cleaner or was your washing machine beyond that? I hope you get it working.
Beckie, I'm glad you enjoyed your coffee but you've done something on your chilled out day which might be breaking the rules. You must have really been craving the coffee. |
I may have broken the rules a bit!
I really was craving the coffee I also got a chicken and bacon pasta salad from asda and it was SOOO good!!! And it's still a chilled out day. Wandering to asda and the coffee shop wasn't too taxing Now all i need to do is put away the washing and shower What are you up to lindsay? |
Sounds good.
I'm just about to go offline to feed Crookshanks and wash his bowls and mats. Then will try and read for a bit and watch some TV. I hope you have a good evening. |
Sounds like a good plan!
Thank you, you too! :) |
Lindsay, I don't have any of that cleaner stuff but I could add it to the shopping list and give it another go, thanks! Hope you have a good evening :)
Beckie are you too young to remember Somerfields? They did an amazing chicken and pasta bake and no supermarket since has come close to replicating such a divine meal (or indeed, I harboured utterly unrealistic memories of it!). Glad your pasta salad was good though!! |
I do remember somerfields!
I don't think we ever shopped there though. It really sucks when something you really love gets discontinued or not available anymore! Like the southbank burrito. Or the arancini balls that was at a random food market i think also at or near southbank! |
Just been to Mass, it wasn't too stressful :)
|
I remember Somerfields! They did a nice elderflower cordial.
Was it the chicken and bacon Caesar salad, Beckie? If so, I love that one. I'm glad Mass was ok, tamo =) |
Glad mass was ok!
I don't think it was a caesar salad np Just said chicken and bacon pasta salad! It had chicken and bacon (obvs!) And lettuce, sweetcorn and carrot. I think that was it. Oh and some kind of sauce. A dog has been barking ALL DAMN DAY!!! I don't think I've heard it before. At least i haven't noticed it. Very annoying |
Any nice plans for the evening tamo?
Beckie I didn't realise the famous Southbank burrito was something you'd not been able to obtain again! But then again, the only thing I remember about that day was Lana missing her curfew because she was on the Southbank with you :P np, how's the cleaning going? |
Just dinner with family.
|
Yes! I have been back but the van is no more!
Haha! We also went on a merry-go-round that was there for some reason! |
Oh, no there's not any carrot in the Caesar one I'm thinking of.
I've cleaned the bathroom which took forever (went back in a bit later and was nearly blinded by the shininess). Also trimmed my hair and had a shower and put laundry away. I've got tomorrow to do more stuff. |
Well done np!
Sounds like a good day's work! I have also had a shower. And put my washing away. I'm watching national treasure 2. Because who doesn't love a bit of Nick Cage?! |
Not really a good days work tbh, I dithered around a lot this morning then had a moment this afternoon after doing part of the bathroom where I was too knackered to do anything other than lay on the sofa for a bit. But the bathroom is probably the worst bit so at least that is done.
I don't really like Nicholas Cage much =x I think I'm gonna put on Only Murders in the Building. |
I still think you did well!
Cleaning is exhausting! Ah ok! I love him. Though he doesn't even really play characters anymore. He is literally just nick cage in different films. Sounds good! |
Yeah that's what I think. He's just himself. There's probably some things I like him in though but I can't remember any at the moment!
|
He's in a great deal of things!
I believe he's also in a film about himself, as himself! |

Hi =P
I feel like I'm missing something here... |

Also Foxtrot Oscar i can’t remember if you use your name on here but hello! How are you?? So lovely to hear from you :) |
Morning all.
Dont forget that today is a Bank Holiday for most of the UK. Also Royal Mail are going on strike on Wednesday so if you wonder why you have very little post this week you know why. |
I have definitely not forgotten it's a bank holiday. Work is going to be rammed. Payday week last week+good weather+bank holiday=busy pub!
At least it's time and a half on bank holidays so extra money! |
Golly, sounds stressful! Glad you’ll be rewarded with extra pay though :)
How many hours are you working? |
It will be!
I'm only doing 12-6 today so it's not too bad! |

Oh ****. I wondered why no one else was here at work this morning! |
:P
Morning np! How are you today? |
Hey np!
|
Morning. I'm ok so far. Just plodding on with work. How're you both?
|
I'm ok.
Just a bit anxious about work because it's likely to be very busy |
Good feelings to people at work today.
|
Hope it's at least manageable! Do you know yet if you're on with decent people or do you not find out until you get there?
|
Thanks tamo
How are you? Thanks Jenna! I have looked at the rota and it seems ok. I don't know who is going to be with me on bar though. |
Oh hello there tamo! (I'm going to have to check as I feel weird every time I type it; do you use your name on here?) How are you today?
|
No I just go by tamo/tamobhuuta and i just use other people's screen names too.
I am ok, my big sister is coming round this afternoon :) |
Oh that's nice! Enjoy seeing her :)
|
One of my nails has come off
(The gel extension, not my actual nail) I only got them done a couple of weeks ago :'( |
Oh that's annoying! Although I think I would find having nail extensions annoying :P
|
^ This =P
I can't even keep plasters on my fingers today let alone false nails. They do freak me out quite a lot actually... Just the look of them sometimes... *shudder* Can it be glued back on again? |
What they said.
|
Haha! It's fun at work too, although "but Miss, these are my real nails" is actually only my second least favourite argument, since "but Miss, these are my real eyelashes" arguments are even worse because I have no clue!
|
Are kids not allowed fake nails or eye lashes?
If so, what is the issue??? Like, I don't think I would care for them but I am unsure how it keeps anyone from learning. |
1) The length of some false nails does actually impede writing and such and I think it maybe is an issue for some practical subjects? Also no one is doing the questions when they're faffing on with broken nails.
2) It's part of the British quirk of uniforms I guess - trying to make it more of a level playing field (no one sticks out as obviously poor because they're wearing cheap clothes etc) and to prepare children for adhering to a dress code in the workplace. Though a lot of countries don't have uniform and that's not a problem so I'm really not sure! I've never taught in a school without a uniform so I honestly don't know. 3) One thing I do agree with is that it teaches them how to deal with rules they think are dumb. If it's really important to you, challenge it through the appropriate channels (e.g. ask to meet with the head and discuss your point of view) otherwise sometimes we just follow rules we don't agree with. And that I think is a fairly good life lesson for Real Life. I have zero defence for the eyelash thing though. How am I supposed to even know if they're real??? However if I don't enforce a rule it undermines my colleagues so I give it my best shot :P |
Pull them and find out?
I remember people coming into school with brightly dyed hair and being sent home. =P |
Hey everyone. I never do anything with my nails, it makes me feel like my hands aren't my own.
|
Lol np!
Poor Beckie isn’t finding many fellow nail enthusiasts here… |
