Aubergine 25-11-2017 04:34 PM

Hello everyone. :) Thanks for the welcome! I'm good thanks, though have woken up with a horrible cold. It's been threatening for a few days, but today I feel proper rubbish. So I am staying in and watching Netflix!

How are you all?

I love bacon sandwiches! And pulled pork. And noodles.

Cacoethes 25-11-2017 04:40 PM

Ugh colds are horrible Aubergine!
I hope you feel better soon!
Netflix cures all!

I really want a bacon sandwich now!
Might get one tomorrow if Greggs is open.

Sketchy 25-11-2017 04:41 PM

Staying in watching Netflix sounds like a sensible thing to do when you have the cold. I hope you feel better soon.

Aubergine 25-11-2017 04:49 PM

Thank you, Beckie and Lorraine! I have a heated throw that I am making good use out of!

I think you should definitely get a bacon sandwich from greggs. :D

Sketchy 25-11-2017 04:50 PM

A heated throw sounds a good idea. It’s very cold today.

Cacoethes 25-11-2017 04:52 PM

A heated throw sounds lovely!

Just checked and greggs isn't open tomorrow :(
One of cafe's might do one if they're open.
Damn rural town!

Aubergine 25-11-2017 04:56 PM

It is very cold today! I rolled out of my bed that has an electric blanket on it, on to my sofa and under my throw. No chance of getting cold! Is your flat warm?

Sketchy 25-11-2017 04:56 PM

I’m looking forward to going to the shop next, because I’m treating myself to a sweet or chocolate. Hmmmmmm, what to choose?

Think I’ll head soon. It’s too noisy in here.

Sketchy 25-11-2017 04:58 PM

My flat is cold right now, but I’ll put the heating on when I get home for a bit. It takes a while to heat my flat because it’s a really old building with high ceilings. Thankfully I have my hot water bottles.

Aubergine 25-11-2017 05:00 PM

It is lovely! It is also far cheaper to use than my heating!

Oh that's a shame. I'm sure other cafes would do them! Really hope you can get one. Rural towns sound frustrating! I like the size of my town. It's not too big or too small. It's also only 30 minutes from the city by train, so you can easily get somewhere a bit bigger if you want to.

Cacoethes 25-11-2017 05:08 PM

Ive got the heating on!

Where I live isn't too bad I suppose.
But basically nowhere is open on sundays. And if they are, they close at 4pm.
I'm about an hour away from the town i go to college by bus. About 15 mins on the train to another largish town but its a **** hole so I try not to go there!
Only 50 mins away from London kings cross though which is pretty good!

Sketchy 25-11-2017 05:52 PM

Hey guys, I’m back. I bought my treat. Haribo big strawberries sweets. They’re the few haribo that are vegetarian. I’ll snack on them later. Yum!

chinahorse 25-11-2017 06:00 PM

Didn't know they were veggie lorraine!! Yum! Enjoy :)

Shy_Bambi 25-11-2017 06:00 PM

Good afternoon all! I didn't wake until around 3 pm it's still early morning for me lol my hamster Berry kept me up at night!!

I used to love those sweets Lorraine!! Kinda went over the top with them and now I don't like them anymore Dx

Cacoethes 25-11-2017 06:03 PM

Yum! I like the big strawberries

Hi Rebecca!

Sketchy 25-11-2017 06:04 PM

The big strawbs are, the small ones aren’t. They are hard to get.

You must have been tired Rebecca.

I sadly love sweets. Haven’t had one in a while, so I’m looking forward to it.

Cacoethes 25-11-2017 06:23 PM

I also love sweets.
I prefer chocolate to gummy type sweets though!

Sketchy 25-11-2017 06:25 PM

I love gummy sweets, but it’s so hard to get vegetarian ones. Marks and Spencer’s do amazing vegetarian gummy sweets. Love them. I love chocolate too.

Cacoethes 25-11-2017 06:28 PM

There's a sweet shop in town that does a big range of veggie sweets.
Its like one of those old fashioned sweet shops. Do you have any of those near you?

Sketchy 25-11-2017 06:30 PM

No, but maybe in the town centre there might be. I’ll have to check. I remember one that we used to have, but it’s closed now.

Aubergine 25-11-2017 06:31 PM

Hey Rebecca! How's it going?

I don't really like gummy sweets. I like chocolate though. Probably a bit too much!

50 minutes from London is lovely! I'm about two hours away on the train.

Sketchy 25-11-2017 06:31 PM

I really want my sweets now! But I’m trying to be an adult and have them after dinner.

Cacoethes 25-11-2017 06:39 PM

Thats not too bad of a journey aubergine!
There are fun places in london.
Like Camden. And Soho because they have yorkshire pudding wraps which are sooo good!

Lorraine, the best bit of being an adult is that you can eat what you want, when you want!!

Sketchy 25-11-2017 06:46 PM

I’ve never been to London. I’d love to see it.

That’s true Beckie, but I’ll enjoy them all the more for the wait.

Cacoethes 25-11-2017 06:57 PM

There are lots of cool places to see!

That is true Lorraine!

Shy_Bambi 25-11-2017 07:02 PM

Hi Aubergine!! I'm good thank you. My mum just got home so I was helping her put things away. She bought mint aero! Love that chocolate!!

Sketchy 25-11-2017 07:05 PM

Yum chocolate. Lucky you.

I’ve put my dinner on. Making noodles again.

Cacoethes 25-11-2017 07:16 PM

Mint aeros are so nice!

I had soup again.
Red pepper and butternut squash
Was rather nice!
No roll today though :(

Shy_Bambi 25-11-2017 07:23 PM

I think we'll have risotto tonight which is yum!
Noodles is good too.

Sketchy 25-11-2017 07:28 PM

Soup and risotto both sound yummy.

My noodles are tasty.

Cacoethes 25-11-2017 07:34 PM

I love risotto
I used to make a bacon and butternut squash risotto and ot was sooo nice!
I should make it again

Sketchy 25-11-2017 07:36 PM

You should make it again. I’ve got really lazy with cooking. I used to make casseroles, pies, and curries from scratch, but I lost all motivation. I rely too much on ready meals and easy to cook things.

Shy_Bambi 25-11-2017 07:38 PM

I have never in my life cooked anything from scratch. Everything has been ready meals or frozen stuff.

one_step_closer 25-11-2017 07:39 PM

I saw in a shop that there is a Super Noodles version of Pot Noodle and I love super noodles but can't be bothered cooking them on the cooker so I decided this would be perfect. Sat down and knocked them all over myself and the floor.

I'm being quiet because I have a cold, think I may be a man. I don't know how people go to work when they're even mildly unwell.

Sketchy 25-11-2017 07:40 PM

Oh no, that’s a shame about the noodles Lindsay. I hope your cold goes away soon.

Sketchy 25-11-2017 07:41 PM

I used to love cooking. Especially in my old flat where I had a bigger kitchen. My kitchen is tiny now.

one_step_closer 25-11-2017 07:42 PM

Do you have a speciality Lorraine?

Cacoethes 25-11-2017 07:43 PM

Ive been pretty lazy with cooking too.
I keep meaning to try out my slow cooker!

You should give it a go Rebecca!
Home cooked food is great

Oh no Lindsay!
Have you got any more.
Sorry you aren't feeling well.
Hope you feel better soon!
This time of year is awful for colds

Shy_Bambi 25-11-2017 07:45 PM

Hi one_step_closer! I'm sorry about your cold, I had one recently, it was horrible. Stock up on cough sweets and lemsip if you can take that. Airwaves gum clears your nose or mouthwash. I also had this nose spray from Sainsburys which was awesome. Hope you feel better soon!

one_step_closer 25-11-2017 07:47 PM

Thank you. I had Cadbury's marvellous creations ice cream instead of my noodles!

Shy_Bambi 25-11-2017 07:49 PM

Mmmm ice cream!! jealous!!

Cacoethes 25-11-2017 07:51 PM

Mmm ice cream!

I had a mini vienna ice cream for pudding.
Its like a tiny vienetta (sp?) on a stick.

Sketchy 25-11-2017 07:53 PM

Ice cream is always good.

My speciality used to be vegetable currys.

Cacoethes 25-11-2017 08:06 PM

Yum veggie curry!
Im hungry again now!

Sketchy 25-11-2017 08:08 PM

I’ve just had one of my sweets. Saving the rest for later.

Cacoethes 25-11-2017 08:16 PM

You have far more self control than I do!
Sweets don't last 5 minutes in my house!

Sketchy 25-11-2017 08:21 PM

I’m too full after dinner. Normally I have no self control.

I wish casualty was on earlier. I’m bored.

Shy_Bambi 25-11-2017 08:27 PM

I'm watching strictly come dancing whilst I'm waiting for casualty. I'm rooting for the Holby city guy!! I keep forgetting his name xD he's such a nice guy tho.
Then casualty is on, the I'm celebrity on plus 1
My whole night is booked up!

Cacoethes 25-11-2017 08:27 PM

Fair enough!

Im watching the day after tomorrow.
It finishes at 9pm which is quite convenient!
I would rather casualty was on earlier though

Sketchy 25-11-2017 08:29 PM

Sounds like you both have plenty to watch. I think I’ll watch my mad fat diary while I wait. I’m also having a nice cold beer, since I usually have a cheeky wee drink on a Saturday.
