Do you think going for a lie down would help Beckie? Or at least sit on the sofa so you have a soft landing if you take a turn!

Boo to that np.

nonperson 25-01-2020 05:42 PM

Could be the start of a migraine maybe? That can cause funny vision.

Glad you made it back safely though.

I'm off out. Can't avoid it any longer. =/

Cacoethes 25-01-2020 05:55 PM

Thanks guys
I'm on the sofa and resting so should be ok *fingers crossed!*

Good luck on your quest np!

one_step_closer 25-01-2020 07:23 PM

Sending magical healing vibes Beckie. I'm not sure how powerful my magic is though.

I hope you've managed the shops ok NP.

Crash Team Racing is a great game but only available on PS1 and is quite expensive because it's a retro game. I have Need For Speed and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3. I will have a look in the charity shops. Probably won't even really play it anyway!

Cacoethes 25-01-2020 07:28 PM

Thank you!
My vision is returning to normal so the magic must have worked!

Ah Tony Hawk games! Used to play that loads at youth club. Awesome game.

It's Burns night apparently!
My mum's cousin is Scottish and he is down to play the bagpipes in the local pub and give some sort of speech.
He went to Jasmines school yesterday to play the bagpipes and give a talk about burns night. Apparently the kids loved it!

one_step_closer 25-01-2020 07:38 PM

I am a lousy Scot, I don't bother with Burns stuff!

Cacoethes 25-01-2020 07:43 PM

I'm not even entirely sure what it's all about!
All I know is this guy called something Burns who would be 261 years old today

one_step_closer 25-01-2020 07:44 PM

Robert Burns was a poet.

Cacoethes 25-01-2020 07:51 PM

Ah I see!

nonperson 25-01-2020 07:57 PM

Why does he have a night?

Soft Kitty 25-01-2020 08:08 PM

I've got whisky so I'm there in... spirit...

Never had haggis though.

one_step_closer 25-01-2020 08:10 PM

I have no idea why he has a night. The school children learn his poems and recite them too. I've got a few certificates from primary school.

Eww whisky! Haggis is ok though from what I remember.

nonperson 25-01-2020 08:13 PM

Haggis is not ok from what I remember. =P

Cacoethes 25-01-2020 08:15 PM

As far as I can tell from google, he has a night because he was just incredibly popular!

Never tried haggis, not a fan of whiskey. It burns!

nonperson 25-01-2020 08:16 PM

I feel very uncultured for not knowing anything about him.

All spirits burn... =/

not_so_insig 25-01-2020 08:18 PM

It's Santes Dwynwen day too aka the welsh Valentine's Day.

My parcel was very boring. It was liquitabs.

I dont have a ps2 but I do have a ps3 which is capable of playing playstation and ps2 games as well as ps3 games. So I have some ps2 games.

Cacoethes 25-01-2020 08:20 PM

I don't know much about him either np.
Which I probably should as mum's side of the family are mainly Scottish!

Not expensive vodka, especially if out of the freezer.

nonperson 25-01-2020 08:21 PM

Oooooo.

Soft Kitty 25-01-2020 08:22 PM

Happy Santes Dwynwen Day Dawn.

My partner has an Xbox 1 and I have the first 3 Crash Bandicoots for it! Love a bit of Crash.

Cacoethes 25-01-2020 08:22 PM

Never tried expensive vodka I don't think!
I don't like spirits on their own anyway

not_so_insig 25-01-2020 08:24 PM

I like whiskey but only neat. Wales do a whiskey but never tried it.

nonperson 25-01-2020 08:39 PM

What's everyone up to?

one_step_closer 25-01-2020 08:41 PM

Nothing other than being on here. Will watch some TV later.

What about you?

nonperson 25-01-2020 08:42 PM

Nothing much other than being on here either. About to put some dinner in the oven and watching the Hunger Games.

Cacoethes 25-01-2020 08:43 PM

I am also watching hunger games and not doing much else!

one_step_closer 25-01-2020 08:46 PM

What's for dinner?

Cacoethes 25-01-2020 08:47 PM

Not too hungry so I just had some lentil soup
How about you?

nonperson 25-01-2020 08:49 PM

Just a ready meal... Spinach and ricotta cannelloni... It probably won't be very nice. =/

Twingo, Beckie. =P I've got a bit of a crush on Jennifer Lawrence...

Cacoethes 25-01-2020 08:54 PM

I hope it's nicer than you expect np!

Yeah same. Even though I don't swing that way :p

nonperson 25-01-2020 08:57 PM

I'm not really sure what way I swing any more! She's definitely confusing me. =P

Cacoethes 25-01-2020 08:58 PM

Haha!
We all have those people who do that!

nonperson 25-01-2020 09:02 PM

I like her voice.

Cacoethes 25-01-2020 09:04 PM

She does have a great voice

tamobhuuta 25-01-2020 09:08 PM

My dad and brother are celebrating Burns Night with haggis, whiskey and poetry. Apparently we have Scottish ancestry but I think that's just an excuse.

nonperson 25-01-2020 09:10 PM

Don't like that weird perfume advert she's in though. She's in some sort of pool with very red lipstick or something?

I always forget that she's Mystique in the newer X-Men films too!

nonperson 25-01-2020 09:10 PM

Haha, Tamo. Any excuse. =)

Cacoethes 25-01-2020 09:16 PM

Yeah I don't like that advert either

She's great as Mystique

The entire pub near my mum will be celebrating burns night and I'm sure not all of them are Scottish!
Any excuse is fine!

nonperson 25-01-2020 09:17 PM

It is the British way.

not_so_insig 25-01-2020 09:20 PM

The place next door to my parents is doing an burns night. A lot of people moaned that it was inappropriate since they weren't doing anything for Santes Dwynwen.

nonperson 25-01-2020 09:22 PM

Do they do normal Valentine's Day though? There isn't an English equivilent of Burns Night.

Cacoethes 25-01-2020 09:22 PM

That is true np

Soft Kitty 25-01-2020 09:24 PM

Yeah, the British answer to most things:
"Pub?"
"Pub."

nonperson 25-01-2020 09:28 PM

Yup, pub is always the answer. =)

Cacoethes 25-01-2020 09:28 PM

Definitely!

nonperson 25-01-2020 09:29 PM

And pub is one of those words that the more you say it, or type it, the more weird it sounds/looks!

Cacoethes 25-01-2020 09:33 PM

It really is

Pub pub pub

nonperson 25-01-2020 09:35 PM

Pub pub pub pub pub pub pub pub.

Pub pub pub.

>.>

Cacoethes 25-01-2020 09:43 PM

Sounds really weird now!

Pub pub pub pub pub!

nonperson 25-01-2020 09:45 PM

It looks really weird too!

Pub pub pub pub pub pub
Pub pub pub pub pub pub
Pub pub pub pub pub pub
Pub pub pub pub pub pub
Pub pub pub pub pub pub
Pub pub pub pub pub pub
Pub pub pub pub pub pub

Ok, enough!
