Cacoethes 24-02-2017 09:02 PM

It is!!
I'm watching eastenders now. Haven't seen it for a few days

Sketchy 24-02-2017 09:04 PM

That's a program I've never watched. I hope you enjoy it though. I'm going to find something to watch on Netflix. So much to choose from.

Cacoethes 24-02-2017 09:07 PM

Thanks

There is a lot on Netflix! I need to find a new series to watch

not_so_insig 24-02-2017 09:28 PM

I have been reading about how a recently discharged mh patient killed herself and there's a statement from my psych in the article. She wasn't one of his patients but he's an Medical Director for mh for the health board hence his comments.

Sketchy 24-02-2017 09:47 PM

That's a shame Dawn.

not_so_insig 24-02-2017 09:55 PM

Yes it's sad. My health board hasn't got the best reputation for its mh wards but I have always been treated well (as well as you can be under the circumstances). Except for the fact that there's nothing to do. At one point when I thought I was going IP I bought a wii portable monitor and portable dvd player but I haven't been IP since I bought them.

Sketchy 24-02-2017 09:57 PM

I remember having nothing to do IP too. I was just glad I had music and sketchbooks with me.

not_so_insig 24-02-2017 10:06 PM

Yes I bought my ipod last time. Idk if it's the same for all mh wards but we didn't have individual tvs. People kept on watching Jeremy Kyle which does my head in when I am well never mind when I am ill. Also they were watching itv during the day when I watch bbc so I missed my usual programmes.

Sketchy 24-02-2017 10:09 PM

We had a communal tv room plus tv in the communal and individual rooms. I was not in an individual room for long before I was moved to communal.

Cacoethes 24-02-2017 10:13 PM

In all the hospitals I've been in, there's only been one or two communal tv rooms.
Except for the long stay secure units where you could have your own tvs and games consoles and everything in your rooms.
The constant Jeremy Kyle used to do my head in! That and bloody smooth radio.

Sketchy 24-02-2017 10:15 PM

There was a patient that used to have the tv on a music channel with awful music throughout the day. It drove me crazy. Or crazier, should I say.

not_so_insig 24-02-2017 10:18 PM

Our current psych ward only has individual rooms. In the previous psych unit the majority of rooms were individual with the exception of one room per ward which had two beds. The previous unit had male and female wards now they are mixed sex. But they had female only tv room which I hid in when I wasn't in my room so I only saw males during visiting hours and meal times.

Cacoethes 24-02-2017 10:19 PM

Other people's tv choices can be annoying!
The thing I probably missed most while IP was being able to watch the tv I wanted!

The PICU I was in had separate female and male corridors with their own tv room. Was pretty good because I was the only female on the ward for most of the 7 months I was there!

not_so_insig 24-02-2017 10:21 PM

Oh yeah on one stay there was this patient who played the same 2 songs on loop through a stereo loudly. Not a night went by when someone didn't knock on her door and tell her to turn it down because people were trying to sleep.

not_so_insig 24-02-2017 10:47 PM

I have made a poll to see which is more popular itv or Bbc.

Sketchy 24-02-2017 10:47 PM

That must have been annoying.

Sketchy 24-02-2017 10:47 PM

I just voted.

Cacoethes 24-02-2017 10:55 PM

I voted too!
I find itv better because I don't like the typical bbc daytime shoes like homes under the hammer etc.
Used to have to watch it every day in one of the secure units.

Sketchy 24-02-2017 10:57 PM

I voted for BBC because they have casualty, Sherlock and doctor who.

Sketchy 24-02-2017 10:58 PM

Oops just realised it says during the day.

Cacoethes 24-02-2017 11:01 PM

I would have voted bbc if it was evenings.
Sherlock, Doctor Who, casualty, holby and eastenders and room 101. And call the midwife.
Lots of good evening tv!

Sketchy 24-02-2017 11:04 PM

I love room 101. I'd love to put so many things in it (and annoying people).

Cacoethes 24-02-2017 11:09 PM

Me too!!

I'm off to bed now guys. Night night and hope you all sleep well!

Sketchy 24-02-2017 11:10 PM

Night night and sleep well.

not_so_insig 24-02-2017 11:52 PM

I am reading the highway code. Fun times.

chinahorse 25-02-2017 02:05 AM

Anyone up still?

Sketchy 25-02-2017 02:22 AM

I'm up. You ok?

chinahorse 25-02-2017 02:28 AM

I can't sleep. Worried about tomorrow.

How come you're up so late?

Sketchy 25-02-2017 02:34 AM

I can't sleep either. I understand you are worried about tomorrow. i hope it goes well. What time is your appointment?

chinahorse 25-02-2017 02:51 AM

Not being able to sleep sucks. Anything keeping you up?

I have to be at the surgery unit place thing at 7.30am. So I have to get up at half 6 which sucks.

Sketchy 25-02-2017 02:55 AM

I would probably sleep if I'd stop playing with my phone.
That's an early time to get up at. At least it's first thing so you are not waiting around all day. I hope you manage to get some sleep.

Sketchy 25-02-2017 03:03 AM

I'm logging off now to sleep. I hope you get some sleep. I'll be thinking about you tomorrow.

chinahorse 25-02-2017 03:03 AM

Lol I shall be motherly then and tell you to stop and sleep!

It's just the time they book you in thevactual time depends on who else is there.

Sketchy 25-02-2017 03:04 AM

I hope they don't keep you waiting. Take something to distract yourself with, like a book or something.

[Luna] 25-02-2017 06:50 AM

Morning guys.
I'm sooooooo cold!

chinahorse 25-02-2017 07:23 AM

Me too! Why don't you go have a nice bath or something?

[Luna] 25-02-2017 07:29 AM

I have to wait for the water to warm up.
I've put the heating on and am wrapped up in a duvet and dressing gown.

How are you love?

chinahorse 25-02-2017 07:44 AM

I feel very anxious and worried.

I hope you warm up soon! I don't have the luxury of heating control so just had to have a strip wash in the freezing cold. Brrrrrrrr.

[Luna] 25-02-2017 07:46 AM

What's worrying you love?

chinahorse 25-02-2017 08:10 AM

It's hopefully my surgery today.

[Luna] 25-02-2017 08:15 AM

Oh **** yeah. I've only just realised what day it is. No wonder you're anxious. What time do you have to be at the hospital?

chinahorse 25-02-2017 08:18 AM

In 10 mins. I'm in the taxi now.

Are you warming up amy?

[Luna] 25-02-2017 08:21 AM

Yeah I'm not too bad now.

I really hope it goes well and you're able to have the graft.

chinahorse 25-02-2017 08:29 AM

That's good. What have you got planned today?

Thanks lovely. X

chinahorse 25-02-2017 09:02 AM

I've been Clarke in now waiting to see the surgeon. I'm so anxious now.

[Luna] 25-02-2017 09:11 AM

Keep us updated. Thinking of you and sending tons of love.
Take deep breaths.

chinahorse 25-02-2017 09:24 AM

The anaesthetist was lovely, like seriously nice. Now still to see the surgeon and hope they have a bed and do the op. Another step done.

[Luna] 25-02-2017 09:59 AM

Well done love, you're being really brave!
I have my fingers and toes crossed for you! Well, perhaps not toes...

not_so_insig 25-02-2017 10:59 AM

I have some exciting news! My driving licence came through the post today. It's only a short term one (3 years) which I am kinda disappointed about but otherwise I am happy. Hopefully by the time it expires I shall have passed my test.

I had a load of driving related books for my birthday so I guess that it's time to start revising lol.

Hopefully you'll get yours soon Beckie.

chinahorse 25-02-2017 11:51 AM

Yay dawn.

I had the surgery. It went fine. I'm so tired now.
