I'm a seasoned 'traveller' - I was mentally ill and went to Berlin and Frankfurt. And up north and I woke up in the Lake District once and had no recollection of driving there. I'm going to Berlin again on the 14th of next month for my 30th, I have no idea why I booked it because I'm going hosteling alone.

Cheryl88 26-01-2018 10:42 PM

I keep telling myself I'll meet people when I get there. It's only for four nights, I'll be fine.

Sketchy 26-01-2018 10:43 PM

I hope you enjoy your travels and stay safe freeatlast.

Pomegranate 26-01-2018 10:43 PM

You will be fine! I quite frequently go travelling alone and even if you don’t meet people you click with sometimes it’s nice to have your own space and just random conversations!

Cheryl88 26-01-2018 10:44 PM

I was on drugs when I booked it. It seemed like a great idea at the time and the flights were cheap.

Love the Great Park! Used to walk there all the time. Must be beautiful to live there and be free to do the long walk to the horse as often as you like.

Cheryl88 26-01-2018 10:45 PM

The last time I went to Berlin I met people, they all spoke really good English as well. And I seriously need a break, my head has been done in recently.

Not much to lose then if the flights were cheap. Try and enjoy it and stay safe. Berlin is awesome with some great walking tours.

Aubergine 26-01-2018 10:46 PM

I went to see Stephen Fry when he did a tour. :D It was so, so good. I was so close to him! I don't usually get funny about famous people, but he's just... I'm going to marry him one day!

My Grandpa used to be head of maintenance at Royal Holloway. :)

Sketchy 26-01-2018 10:48 PM

I like Stephen Fry too.

Cheryl88 26-01-2018 10:48 PM

I went to Wittenberg the last time I went to Berlin and gave up cocaine there. Lutherstadt inspired me, I've not touched it since. This time I'm going to the zoo and to see the cathedrals.

Cheryl88 26-01-2018 10:49 PM

Sorry but I think you may be the wrong gender for Stephen Fry. :0)

Sketchy 26-01-2018 10:51 PM

Will you take lots of photos when you are there?

It gets quite busy but it is nice really. =) The long walk is too long for me though! You should visit Savill Garden if you haven't already. ;-)

Cheryl88 26-01-2018 10:53 PM

Yeah, I've got a camera that I take places with me. I usually go to the botanical gardens and take loads of photos of plants. I'm an oddity.

Sketchy 26-01-2018 10:54 PM

I love botanic gardens. I like taking photos in the botanical gardens in Glasgow.

nonperson 26-01-2018 10:54 PM

I do that too, FreeAtLast.

nonperson 26-01-2018 10:55 PM

Ah this thread is great. Food topics and now plant topics. All my favourite stuff.

Aubergine 26-01-2018 10:55 PM

But how do you know which gender I am, FreeAtLast? :P And it's OK, I just want him to live in an adjoining house (with a tunnel we can use to move between them), so we can live separately, but he can sit and tell me clever things all day. :)

Cheryl88 26-01-2018 10:55 PM

I had my first psychotic episode in the botanical gardens in Glasgow. And Kelvingrove park - I avoid those places now. And the university.

Cheryl88 26-01-2018 10:57 PM

Hahaha, I'd even go for a marriage like that with Stephen Fry. And I just assumed you're female, sorry.

Sketchy 26-01-2018 10:57 PM

That’s a shame. Those are my favourite places, but I understand that it would be distressing for you.

Cheryl88 26-01-2018 10:59 PM

I'll go back when I'm fully recovered. I'm meant to be going back to uni in September, I'll be cured by then.

nonperson 26-01-2018 11:00 PM

QI without Stephen Fry is on now.

Sketchy 26-01-2018 11:01 PM

I hope you find recovery.

I’m so cosy. I have a thick onesie on and the fire on and I’m sitting on my rocking chair.

Cheryl88 26-01-2018 11:02 PM

I like Sandi Toksvig, she's a good replacement.

Aubergine 26-01-2018 11:02 PM

Hahaha, you can come and listen to Stephen tell you clever things too. :) And it's OK, I was joking - I am female. It says so in my profile. :) I'm sure Stephen wouldn't REALLY mind though...

What do you study?

I live two minutes from a beautiful park and seven minutes from the beach. <3

Cheryl88 26-01-2018 11:03 PM

I'm lying on my bed drinking lemonade. You sound cosier, I'd love a rocking chair.

nonperson 26-01-2018 11:04 PM

I think Sandi Toksvig is good too. But she's not Stephen Fry!

Cheryl88 26-01-2018 11:04 PM

I'm a divinity student on a sort of ... sabbatical.

nonperson 26-01-2018 11:08 PM

I'm so full of potato....

Sketchy 26-01-2018 11:09 PM

Potato is always good!

nonperson 26-01-2018 11:10 PM

Yes I'm not really complaining. =) Sweet potato too.

Sketchy 26-01-2018 11:11 PM

Ooh I haven’t had sweet potato in ages.

Cheryl88 26-01-2018 11:18 PM

I only tried sweet potatoes for the first time last year. They're starchy but good.

nonperson 26-01-2018 11:22 PM

Healthier than normal potatoes.

nonperson 26-01-2018 11:22 PM

I like Cajun sweet potato wedges. =)

Cheryl88 26-01-2018 11:23 PM

Oh I love anything with Cajun spice. All this talk of food should be making me hungry.

nonperson 26-01-2018 11:24 PM

Maybe we just haven't mentioned the right food yet.

Aubergine 26-01-2018 11:24 PM

Yum! Cajun chicken!

Aubergine 26-01-2018 11:25 PM

I have a blueberry muffin? Want one, FreeAtLast? I have four and two of them are going in the freezer if there're no takers...

nonperson 26-01-2018 11:26 PM

I'll swap a portion of shepherd's pie for a muffin? =P

Cheryl88 26-01-2018 11:27 PM

I'll keep one for when I'm starving later. I'm having a weekend fast until I sober up.

Aubergine 26-01-2018 11:28 PM

Deal! :D

I spoke to my Mum on the phone. :) Though forgot that she's on an early at the children's hospice tomorrow and I think I woke her up... :/ She seemed happy enough to talk though. She's so good to me. :)

Cheryl88 26-01-2018 11:28 PM

My all time favourite food is asparagus soup. Delia does the best recipe. Or Lorraine Pascall's butternut squash soup.

nonperson 26-01-2018 11:29 PM

Your mum sounds lovely. =)

Mine doesn't tolerate being woken up!

Sketchy 26-01-2018 11:29 PM

Mums are great like that.

Sketchy 26-01-2018 11:30 PM

I love butternut squash soup.

Cheryl88 26-01-2018 11:31 PM

Your mother does sound lovely, especially if she works at a children's hospice.
