Quick shower?
With phone nearby? |
Hi all :D
I had a horrendous weekend which made me disappear while being sad and questioning my general life choices :( So i agreed with myself that this week is mainly for naps, coffee and streaming silly stuff (like this danish kids' tv show i have been most amused by) Also Jenna, a pie pie is like the epitome of nerdy coolness!!! Which obviously, everyone should respect. Jen, don't risk the shower!!!! Unless you can answer a call while you're showering. That is okay. On the other end of that spectrum i have friends who sometimes go to the loo for peeing while talking to me on the phone. That is NOT okay!!!! |
That sounds like a good plan zurg!
Self care ftw! |
Personally I wouldn't risk being away from the phone lr!
Morning all. |
Morning tamo
|
You guys were right. I decided to shower and the nurse decided to call...
However I had enacted a cunning plan and left phone with my partner and asked him to answer saying he was my partner and that he would go fetch me if it rang. So ended up with him coming into bathroom saying it's the Doctors and me hastily turning off the water, drying my hands, turning on speakerphone and having a conversation pretending I was in no way in the shower...*facepalm* Good thing I have a shower seat! Have an in person appointment for 11:40am. I should have known asthma would get me a call earlier rather than later but was thrown by receptionist saying anytime before 1pm. Yay for kids TV Zurg. I have a few old favourites I watch when I am not doing so good. |
Always the way!
Glad you have an appointment! |
Morning all!
Sorry you had a bad weekend Zurg :(. We’re here (possibly in the serious thread!) if you want to talk about it. Lol Jen, glad you had a cunning plan and managed to get an in person appointment! Hi Beckie and tamo and also lurking ‘Lauren93’ |
I'm glad they called and you've got an appointment.
I'm off to see my support worker in a minute. |
Morning jenna!
Any plans for today? Have a good appointment tamo |
Arrived early. What are you up to Cacoethes?
|
Leaving for the train in about 45 mins.
For a 2 hour train and bus journey to ED appointment of doom. So mentally preparing! Ceeb. I'm tired XD |
Good luck, I hope they are helpful. And i hope the journey is OK too.
|
Thank you! :)
|
At least the weather is nice today!
|
Very British of you Beckie looking on the bright side by talking about the weather!
I hope your appointments go ok Beckie and Tamo. Just about to head out myself in next 10 minutes or so. |
Hello all. I am going out too in just over half an hour.
|
Always!
Thanks. I'm really nervous. But it's nothing too horrible. Shouldn't be anyway! Afaik, just a blood test and ecg again. Good luck at your appointment jen! Hope they can sort something |
Everyone has gone out to tend to their actual lives. Leaving me behind all alone because i do not have a life. Is that good or bad??? I scream, for i do not know….!!!
|
I'll be here for a while zurg!
I'll be travelling for 2 hours, so loads of time sitting on public transport! |
Yay!!! A Beckie came to the rescue. You can entertain me by telling me what wonderful scenery you're passing by and i can entertain with the current state of my laundry and the basement room where i do said laundry.
It's exciting times to be alive!!!! XD |
Indeed!
Train has just set off. Only on it for 10 mins. Lots of fields! Bus scenery isn't as exciting. Mostly urban type places Have fun doing laundry! |
When i'm on a train i announce with great excitement (inside my head only. Because normal people are weird…) when we pass cows, sheep, horses or pigs. And that's about the only exciting thing that you pass while riding trains in Denmark.
I remember being 16 and riding into London by train with my classmates when we went abroad. I felt utterly disappointed and kept repeating to myself how sad, depressing and poor the houses and neighbourhoods looked. Then 6 months later, i travelled in Venezuela and saw slum villages for the first time in real life. Made the train ride into London look like Hollywood boulevard….. |
Afternoon everyone. My meeting went well. We went round the shops and she was very friendly and we avoided the busy bits and didn't spend money.
|
Yeah same here tbh!
London is super depressing tbh. I'm glad your meeting went well tamo! I got to the bus stop with 5 mins to spare! |

Had nurse appointment she listened to my chest I am wheezy but thankfully no crackles that would mean a chest infection. She has prescribed steroids, joy... Don't like steroid side effects but I accepted as last couple of times I have tried to go without steroids I have had to call an ambulance. Sigh insomnia and extra mentalness here I come |
Lesser of the 2 evils situations i guess!
The bus is bumpy |
Look after yourselves everyone.
Read everything but feel like there's so much to respond to! My post got put in my paper bin but the postie didn't leave a note to tell me. I only realised when I checked the tracking for something that was due today. |
That's not very good!
Thank goodness you checked! Just at the airport (bus stops here, not anothet holiday unfortunately!) |
That's me done leaving the house until Saturday Zurg!
|

That made me think of the skruken head in the Knight bus in Harry Potter 3 That's says 'It's going to be a bumpy ride!' I hope your journey is smoother than the Knight bus!! Quote:
Also I must say that it is lovely to have you around again Lindsay. |
Breathing is kind of essential!
Haha! Was smoother than that thankfully! I am now on my second bus. Which i also got here 5 mins early for. Something weird going on with buses today! Means I'm gonna get to D really early. I'll just find a coffee shop to loiter in. |
Yeah it is rather essential. It's what makes asthma so annoying.
Weird indeed but better to be early than massively delayed. Is there a spoons in D? They do unlimited hot drinks for I think 99p so much cheaper than somewhere like costa. |
I can imagine!
True! Good thing i went early because there is SO much traffic and we've just had to swap buses for some reason. I keep seeing the Z bus. Always makes me think of charlie the unicorn XD I'm not sure if there is a spoons. They're everywhere so they must be. But it is absolutely not the day for hot drinks! I'm melting! Might just be the bus though |
Well it is working out in the end.
As long as you do not wake up in an ice bath like Charlie the unicorn I think things will be ok XD Buses are always too hot. But I hear you on not wanting a hot drink on a hot day. I am off to attempt a nap. If my lungs let me. Going to try sleeping propped up |
Thing about a spoons is, you have to factor in sticking-to-the-floor-time when you try to leave. But free refills is a win.
|
The bus we changed to was leaking from the roof in multiple places XD
It took so long that i didn't have time for coffee. Just got here. Good plan jen! Have a nice nap! Yeah why are spoons pubs always sticky??? Eugh! And the toilets are always up millions of stairs |
Our local Spoons is a rarity there isn't an upstairs so no trek to the loo.
|
Done with appointment
Now for the trek back! |
I hope the appointment went OK. Enjoy the journey home...
|
It didn't go fantastically.
But that's a story for another thread! Thanks! On the last bus, then walk and train. Hows your day going? |
It's ok so far. Tried to read but couldn't focus so I've been watching TV. I look forward to reading your thread because I am nosey!
|
I'll probably RV it.
Because i know I'm being a total idiot and I'll just annoy people in serious. Lol Watching anything good? |
Once upon a time :)
|
My post was books and ladies boxers.
It's good to be back. :) I hope you managed to nap ok, Jen. How can you stay in the house until Saturday, Tamo?! I'd go further crazy! Anything good on TV? I've been watching The Child Snatcher documentary, not so lighthearted viewing. What a journey, Beckie. Will you have to do that often? I hope you're ok. How are you getting on, Dawn? |
I managed to nap for about 90 minutes. Woke up feeling a bit rough asthma wise, but was nice to get some respite. I am going to mostly be staying in bed propped up for next few days.
Don't think you would annoy us in serious Beckie. But up to you. Ooh books! Any exciting ones? Ladies boxers can be comfy but sometimes if find the leg roll up and annoy me. I might try and get up to watch some TV in a minute. Was watching who do you think you are earlier before going out to nurse appointment |
Osc - hurray for post! But that documentary sounds horrible. I watch some of the news while I have my lunch, then I watch Once Upon a Time on the Disney app. I really enjoy it, even for the zillionth time.
|
I really hope you recover soon, Jen. Be kind to yourself and make sure you are doing all the things you need to do. We are here for you.
The books were The Possession, A Robot In The Garden, Quicksilver, and Dear NHS. I'm glad you have something to watch that you enjoy, Tamo. I don't even know what is going on in the news, I just have a quick look at the STV News website once a day. |
I am doing all the things various medical humans have advised over the years. And also just taking it very easy.
Hoping my respiratory appointment happens sooner rather than later but waiting lists are a thing. I have a good GP practice though so being looked after. A different nurse is calling to check how I am responding to steroids/ doing generally on Friday. I am going to Google the robot in the garden book as. the image if a robot in a garden makes me chuckle. Hope it's a lawnmower robot and not some kind of metaphor! |
The next appointment is in 3 weeks.
So not that often really. I'm glad the nap gave you a bit of a break jen! Uust waiting for the train now |
All times are GMT +1. The time now is 02:08 AM. |
