one_step_closer 13-05-2023 06:13 PM

Just because they sound similar and my brain is weird.

nonperson 13-05-2023 06:13 PM

Ch-ch-chuckle visiiion, ch-chuckle viiision

Cacoethes 13-05-2023 06:18 PM

Haha lol!

My mum never let us watch chucklevision.
She had an irrational hatred of it!

I've just impulsively showered.
This along with impulsively clearning the lint out of my washing machine last nighf
I'm not sure i like what my life is becoming!

one_step_closer 13-05-2023 06:23 PM

You poor deprived soul. Your lack of watching Chuckle Vision might explain the grown up tasks you've been doing recently.

nonperson 13-05-2023 06:23 PM

I never watched it either but still know the theme tune!

Can I have some of your impulsivity?

(Is that even a word?)

one_step_closer 13-05-2023 06:24 PM

NP, what's your excuse for not watching it?!

Impulsivity is a word, I'm sure. Except looking at it and sounding it out makes it feel like not a word.

nonperson 13-05-2023 06:26 PM

I didn't like it.

I think it might be impulsiveness instead =P

Cacoethes 13-05-2023 06:27 PM

I have watched bits of it. I think at friend's houses!
I can't remember any full episodes though!

Impulsiveness isn't always good. But recently it has been!
So rock and roll these days.....

Autocorrect didn't recognise impulsivity, so yeah :p

one_step_closer 13-05-2023 06:27 PM

Impulsivity is a word too. Maybe you're allowed to pick and choose.

I can't even remember what Chuckle Vision was like.

Cacoethes 13-05-2023 06:29 PM

Yeah why not!

I think just slapstick comedy.
With a lot of 'to me''to you'
Which people STILL use in day to day life!

one_step_closer 13-05-2023 06:31 PM

Yes, I remember the 'to me, to you'. That's probably the only thing that anyone can remember of it and it has stuck.

What are you going to do with your evening now? No more impulsive cleaning.

nonperson 13-05-2023 06:35 PM

I use "to me, to you" at work quite often! =X

I didn't say impulsiveness was good, but sometimes I'd like to have a bit more of it.

Pi.R^2 13-05-2023 06:42 PM

I vividly remember one time a random rumour went round our class that Barry Chuckle had died (this was 2006, he had not!) and we disrupted an English lesson begging our teacher to let us check on the computers if Barry Chuckle was indeed dead.

Cacoethes 13-05-2023 06:43 PM

Probably!

I'm not sure!
Just watch Doctor who i suppose.
And keep telling merry to leave pippin alone!
My neighbour is coming to clean tomorrow so don't need to clean!

Haha!
I couldn't do it at work. They're all young so would have zero clue what I'm talking about!

That's fair. It can be useful sometimes tbh!

Hahaha! Excellent!
He is actually dead now isn't he? I know one of them is!

EDIT: Oh! Apparently chucklevision ended in 2009? That's waaay later than i thought!

Pi.R^2 13-05-2023 06:45 PM

Yeah, he's dead for real now, I just checked!

The lack of appropriate cultural references in the youth of today is deeply displeasing. My new work bestie was born in 2000 and I roast her for that so frequently.

nonperson 13-05-2023 06:48 PM

I left school in 2000... :ermm:

That was also my response about 2009 when I googled them too, Beckie!

not_so_insig 13-05-2023 06:53 PM

Tinchy stryder did a song with them.

In the words of the Chuckle Brothers "oh dear, oh dear, oh dear" Jenna about your work friend.

Cacoethes 13-05-2023 06:57 PM

It is depressing!

My work bestie is 24, so would have been born in 1999. I was born in 1991 so it doesn't feel as massive as 2000 would! Even though it's only a years difference!
What i didn't appreciate, was a girl at work turning 25 and complaining about it, saying it was halfway to 50! And i mentioned that was kinda depressing at 31. She said 'less than halfway to 60'
I really didn't know how to respond to that. The others in the vicinity were offended on my behalf!
And then there was the customer (an old man) who said to me 'are you the oldest one here then?'
Nearly yeeted him down the stairs for that!
And one of the 25 year old's nicknames was 'grandad' when i started....

I genuinely thought it would have ended in like 1995!

nonperson 13-05-2023 07:03 PM

She sounds odd. Sometimes people's reactions to age are a preprogrammed thing that they think they have to believe.

Saying that I'm turning 40 next year and I will warn you guys now that there may be a major breakdown on the cards for January.

not_so_insig 13-05-2023 07:04 PM

If that's bad I have less than 8 years to go until I can go on a saga holiday Beckie.

nonperson 13-05-2023 07:05 PM

Are you looking forward to it, Dawn?

If you want to know how weird and stalky I am, I already have a reminder in my phone to send you a 40th birthday card...

Also I got roasted by a child yesterday for having left school (year 11 at least) in 2007 - he said "no wonder you look so old" :P

not_so_insig 13-05-2023 07:07 PM

No nonperson. I saw an advert before for old people's life cover that I could have at age 49.

nonperson 13-05-2023 07:10 PM

Children are particularly harsh! Although, kind of factual at the same time if you think about it. Of course you're going to look older than them with their innocent lack of comprehension of any adult.

And... on the stalker front, wow. Just wow. Although good luck getting my address.

Pi.R^2 13-05-2023 07:10 PM

sorrryyyyyyyy

nonperson 13-05-2023 07:12 PM

I have to admit that I am now slightly worried that you will find a way without asking me for it...

Pi.R^2 13-05-2023 07:13 PM

If you make it clear you would not like me to have your address I would not violate your privacy, don't worry!

Pi.R^2 13-05-2023 07:14 PM

I'm a polite stalker!

Cacoethes 13-05-2023 07:14 PM

If a child thinks jenna looks old, there is no hope for the rest of us!
Imo, jenna looks about 12. No offence :tongue2:

Don't challenge her np! She is relentless XD

Pi.R^2 13-05-2023 07:14 PM

And on that awkward note, I am off to collect our Cuisine for the evening!

One time I thought Problematic Fave was issuing a challenge when he said that he wasn't telling me his mum's maiden name but turns out he wasn't and was Very Offended when I did investigating and found out :( I try to be more careful now as I want to be impressive and funny not offensive or worrying!

nonperson 13-05-2023 07:17 PM

I know, Beckie! That's why I'm worried!

We shall see, Jenna. We shall see. (I think you would enjoy my address, as far as addresses go, it is a good one)

Enjoy your curry!

nonperson 13-05-2023 07:18 PM

I'm not genuinely worried. I think I would actually be very impressed!

Cacoethes 13-05-2023 07:21 PM

Enjoy your fine cuisine jenna!

My brother's address is ridiculously long!
Apparently they all are in Thailand, or at least in that part of Thailand!
Easily about 7 lines, possibly more!
And it still took his bday card over a month to arrive :plain:

nonperson 13-05-2023 07:37 PM

Well it is a different country. Seven lines is excessive though!

Mine doesn't have many lines, just lots of letters!

not_so_insig 13-05-2023 07:41 PM

Russian addresses are another that are long. I drew an Russian address on postcrossing before that's 6 lines long. It will take over 3 months to get there too.

Cacoethes 13-05-2023 07:47 PM

Apparently they have to include like the specific provinces and stuff.
But apparently, the post service can tell what an address is just by the apartment building. So seems extra pointless!

My address is boring
Though a lot of people find my town name quite amusing!

not_so_insig 13-05-2023 07:55 PM

Mines nearly all in Welsh. I think only my name isn't and my city since we use the English spelling of it. Though I have been known to get parcels and letters with both the Welsh and English spellings on.

Cacoethes 13-05-2023 08:03 PM

That's cool.
I only know cymru and heddlu in welsh i think! Oh and araf.
Even though we spent a lot of time there as kids!

not_so_insig 13-05-2023 08:07 PM

Heddlu is kinda important in an emergency.

Cacoethes 13-05-2023 08:11 PM

Most definitely!

nonperson 13-05-2023 08:19 PM

Doesn't it often say heddlu and police though?

Also cwtch!

Pi.R^2 13-05-2023 08:22 PM

Melyn

Cacoethes 13-05-2023 08:25 PM

Yeah probably!
It's also written on things that are quite obviously emergency services!

How could i forget about cwtch?!

No idea what that is jenna!

long road 13-05-2023 08:31 PM

Don't forget Araf!

I also know some basics such as "Bore Da" "Nos Da"
And I can count to 5 un, dau, tri, pedwar, pump.

But considering the fact my ancestors spoke Welsh fluently it is kind of embarassing that that is the extent of my knowledge!

Cacoethes 13-05-2023 08:38 PM

I feel like I'm off the hook, because it's my step dad's family that are Welsh, so technically not of welsh descent!
Though of course we all consider ourselves family!
I am however of irish descent, and know basically nothing about Ireland, or ever been there! XD

long road 13-05-2023 08:47 PM

Ireland is very green I think? Like a lot of countryside.

And they have good music.

But I know little about Ireland. I think on my Dad's side one of my like great great grandfather's was Irish but that's only like 1/16 so doesn't really count.

Pi.R^2 13-05-2023 08:50 PM

I AM IRISH

Pi.R^2 13-05-2023 08:50 PM

Also melyn is yellow and is just a random thing someone told me one time and I’ve remembered it all this time

Cacoethes 13-05-2023 08:52 PM

My nanny on my dad's side was born in Ireland.
So I'm not THAT Irish!

I always find that weird jenna because you sound sooo posh XD

I often remember random useless stuff too
Can still remember the competition line number for cbbc from over 20 years ago...
