Cacoethes 10-06-2022 04:47 PM

she is pretty amazing!

that's really kind of you!
i was going to have a look in some charity shops in town

one_step_closer 10-06-2022 04:51 PM

I can still send you a book if there's one you know you'd like to read, in case you don't have much luck in the charity shops.

Cacoethes 10-06-2022 04:55 PM

thank you :)

are you up to anything this evening?

one_step_closer 10-06-2022 04:59 PM

Let me know. It's ok if you'd rather just look in the charity shops. They are fun for looking at books! A lot of the time the books I am interested in end up being ones I've already read or already got though! I have a whole empty bookcase now where before this whole covid thing I had the shelf full and my two bookcases plus some overflow.

I'll just be reading then watching TV for a bit. What about you?

Cacoethes 10-06-2022 05:10 PM

I'm not sure of any specific book titles!
but i do like psychological thrillers and true life medical type ones.

i'm watching a film. stormbreaker. i loved the Alex Rider book series as a kid and haven't seen the film in forever!

one_step_closer 10-06-2022 05:15 PM

You can look at what I've been reading in the creativity board and see if you'd like any of them, I might still have them.

I've heard of that but don't know much about it. I hope you enjoy the film and have a nice evening.

one_step_closer 10-06-2022 05:18 PM

Ahhh, I just remembered it's the Gala Day here tomorrow. I hope when I go for my prescription there aren't too many people on the pavements and I don't get caught up in the procession.

Cacoethes 10-06-2022 05:18 PM

i will do that :)

thanks!
i am still super stressed but promethazine is taking the edge off

oh noooo! hate it when there are events and stuff on in inconvenient place!

one_step_closer 10-06-2022 05:22 PM

I'm glad the med is helping with your stress levels. Do you have other safe things that help?

It's hard to get past all the people standing waiting for the procession. I don't even know what time it starts and which way they go.

Cacoethes 10-06-2022 05:26 PM

thanks!
pretty much just walking, tv/films and music.

ugh so stressful
have you got a local fb page you can ask for details?

Zurg 10-06-2022 07:25 PM

I try my very best to keep up to date on any big events in my city so i can avoid the city when said events take place ;-)
But then again… i tend to avoid going downtown as much as possible. People are stressful!!! They always Seem too busy, too jolly and there is too many of them!!!

That being said, i have tickets for a stadium concert in a week and a half. I Think around 40000 people are expected to attend. I am already overwhelmed by the mere thought of that. I Will defintely need to pop to the kiosk before heading out there, this amount of people require good, old fashioned cigarettes so i can control my nerves!!!! Vaping ins't enough in these circumstances. I don't drink. I need stimulants of other sorts. Cigarettes are close to the strongest thing i ever use.

I love browsing for books too. Though i am not allowing myself into bookstores these days as i have too many books on my shelves i haven't read. I accumulate books. It's a trait i've never been able to let go of. Also, it's the only 'bad' habit i refuse to work on!!!

Cacoethes 10-06-2022 07:32 PM

it's fairly easy to avoid stuff in my town
not much goes on!
we have the market twice a week but that's easily avoided

oh wow!
what are you going to see?
i got a bit stressed at MCR but the concert soon distracted me!
going to hella mega tour in a couple of weeks too at London stadium. that's gonna be a big one!
cigarettes do help tbh
i miss smoking sometimes!

there are worse habits than accumulating books!

Zurg 10-06-2022 08:08 PM

I live in the second biggest city in Denmark (it sounds huge, trust me, it isn't!!!) and lots of things happen here all the time. But my most hated event is the annual week of the city party festival. Damn!!! I hate that!!! Sooo many people. And they are everywhere!!! Walking down a street that normally takes 5 minutes to walk suddenly takes at least 45 minutes because of the dense crowds.

I am going to see Rammstein. It'll be my 4th time seeing them. I don't mind the concert bit in itself but more the chaos of getting inside and getting out again. And even though i don't drink, i always come back home smelling like beer because silly, drunken people always think it's hilarious to throw beer at everyone they pass. In my days!!! We did NOT waste good beer like that!!!! ;-)

Cacoethes 10-06-2022 08:13 PM

that really sucks!
wouldn't be able to cope with that!

oh awesome!
yeah the chaos of that isn't fun! definitely the worst bit!
i wouldn't waste good beer either! especially as it's so overpriced at concerts!
i come home smelling of beer after work lol

Cacoethes 11-06-2022 04:43 AM

morning everyone!

Zurg 11-06-2022 09:13 AM

Morning Beckie.
How are you??

Cacoethes 11-06-2022 09:33 AM

morning zurg!

i'm ok thanks. just bored!
i cleared up my book shelf
it looks very empty now!
got rid of a load of books from my old OU course and a load of old, not relevant anymore, MASSIVE sociology books!

how are you?

one_step_closer 11-06-2022 02:25 PM

Afternoon Beckie and Kat and whoever pops in.

I slept in so missed the procession but when I went to get my prescription there were huge crowds waiting for the rides etc. I went the longer way home after I got my prescription because nothing happens up that way with regards to the gala day.

An empty bookcase is a sad bookcase, Beckie. Have you got other things to put on it?

Cacoethes 11-06-2022 02:29 PM

hey lindsay!

glad you managed it!

i do have other things on it like photos and other random bits.
my house is small so all storage space is used!

one_step_closer 11-06-2022 02:33 PM

If you like I can donate some books to you that I've finished with if you have space and might like to read them.

I have:

The Maid - Nita Prose.

One Moment - Linda Green.

and

The Fire Witness - Lars Kepler.

Cacoethes 11-06-2022 02:36 PM

that would be great!
i had a quick google and The Fire Witness looks really interesting!

one_step_closer 11-06-2022 03:07 PM

It was a good read. I'll send them out to you asap. I hope you enjoy them.

What are you doing for the rest of today?

Cacoethes 11-06-2022 03:10 PM

thanks so much!

not a lot!
still talking to e-on via fb messenger. i think we might be close to a solution though! finally!

how about you?

one_step_closer 11-06-2022 03:17 PM

I hope you can get all of your money back, it's not right otherwise.

I'm going to read for a bit then have something to eat. I've done all my housework for today. Not much else to do.

Cacoethes 11-06-2022 03:21 PM

right, so they're going to issue a new card which will clear the meter and another card with the money on it which should put the money on.
i really really hope it works!

sounds good!

one_step_closer 11-06-2022 03:39 PM

More brain fingers crossed for you! I hope this sorts things out for you. Well done for managing to chase things up.

Cacoethes 11-06-2022 03:41 PM

thank you! :)
i'm just glad i could do it over fb messages rather than having to actually call!
much easier! and being able to send the pictures too.

one_step_closer 11-06-2022 04:43 PM

Yeah, I'd hate to have to do all that with phone calls. I'm probably going to have to phone the ESA people for an update and I'm dreading it. I just bought a very cute but expensive Care Bears cardigan. I really shouldn't be buying things.

Cacoethes 11-06-2022 04:49 PM

that's stressful
although knowing what the outcome is will be less stressful than the phone call i imagine.
it would for me anyway

I've just been on an impulse trip to asda because i wanted sweetcorn.

one_step_closer 11-06-2022 04:53 PM

It's all the waiting you have to do to talk to someone on these sorts of calls. I could just wait till they phone me or send me a letter, whatever the next step is supposed to be.

Sweetcorn is a strange thing to want! What are you planning on doing with it?

Cacoethes 11-06-2022 05:04 PM

i know what you mean. i've had to wait over 40 mins to get through to them before!

nothing. i just wanted to eat some plain sweetcorn lol
i get random cravings sometimes!

another one of my gel extensions has come off :'(
that's 3 now and my nail appointment isn't until the 28th!

Cacoethes 11-06-2022 06:49 PM

that's understandable dawn

not_so_insig 11-06-2022 06:54 PM

Thanks Beckie

Cacoethes 11-06-2022 07:11 PM

i hope you feel better soon

Cacoethes 12-06-2022 07:50 AM

morning everyone!

tamobhuuta 12-06-2022 11:01 AM

Good morning - how are you?

Cacoethes 12-06-2022 11:14 AM

i'm ok thanks.

i'm on goblet of fire

how are you?

tamobhuuta 12-06-2022 11:18 AM

Excellent. I am ok, got my prayer meeting type thing this afternoon and Mass after.

Cacoethes 12-06-2022 11:22 AM

sounds good!

i'm doing some washing and need to shower tonight.
easy day!

one_step_closer 12-06-2022 02:38 PM

Hi everyone, how have your days been going?

Cacoethes 12-06-2022 02:43 PM

hey Lindsay!
I'm glad you're here. I'm lonely lol

I've just been watching harry potter. need to put washing away and shower at some point.

how about you?

one_step_closer 12-06-2022 02:54 PM

Aww. I don't know how long I'll be here to help with your loneliness!

Did you get through all of the films or are you still watching? When do you plan to put away the clothes and have a shower?

I got up late and it felt too late to go to Tesco but I eventually decided to go and it didn't take up much time. Stuff from the other world was happening on the way home though and I'm quite shaken. I changed my bedding earlier and cleaned the bathroom. Need to clean Crookshanks's bowls and mats once he's had his dinner.

Cacoethes 12-06-2022 02:58 PM

no worries!

I'm close to the end of order of the phoenix now
the clothes need to dry a bit more and I'll shower after I've had dinner :)

I'm glad you managed to go to Tesco
and well done for doing stuff
sorry to hear about the other world stuff though. that must be difficult to deal with

one_step_closer 12-06-2022 03:05 PM

Sounds like you have everything planned out. Do you know what you're having for dinner? I hope you enjoyed your plain sweetcorn yesterday!

Thank you. I have an appointment with my psychiatrist on Wednesday so hopefully I can get my points across.

Cacoethes 12-06-2022 03:09 PM

I'll probably have soup
don't have much in
i did enjoy my plain sweetcorn very much thanks!
forgot how tasty it is!

i hope it goes well. are they good at listening?

nonperson 12-06-2022 03:16 PM

Afternoon folks.

one_step_closer 12-06-2022 03:17 PM

Hi NP, how's things?

I can't even remember how much he listened last time, Beckie. He's new.

Cacoethes 12-06-2022 03:31 PM

hey np!
how are you?

fair enough.
hope he's a good 'un!
it's so hit and miss with doctors

nonperson 12-06-2022 03:41 PM

Hey both. I'm so tired I don't know what to do with myself. Watching Encanto right now.

I hope it goes ok for you Lindsay x
