I do tend to prefer savoury stuff most of the time

tamobhuuta 23-03-2021 09:16 PM

If I could I would live off chocolate.

Cacoethes 23-03-2021 09:57 PM

Creme eggs are amazing but they are sickly

[Luna] 24-03-2021 09:15 AM

Morning threadlings, how is everyone today? What are you guys up to today?

tamobhuuta 24-03-2021 10:59 AM

Hi Luna, how are you? I've got a video call with the neurologist at 10.20 so I'm nervous about that.

Cacoethes 24-03-2021 11:23 AM

Morning Luna and tamo
I'm ok thanks
How are you?

Why are you nervous tamo?

[Luna] 24-03-2021 11:31 AM

I hope the video calls goes well Tamo. Thinking of you!

Hey Beckie, what you up to?

Cacoethes 24-03-2021 11:54 AM

I'm being a pin cushion!
They can't get blood from ANYWHERE
And these tests are really important!
They are going to try putting a glove full of warm water on the area to try and get a vein up.

[Luna] 24-03-2021 12:04 PM

wow, not at all? Have you been drinking enough water?

tamobhuuta 24-03-2021 12:13 PM

That's frustrating Cacoethes.

The video call changed to regular call. I have to have an MRI and EEG.

Cacoethes 24-03-2021 12:27 PM

Nope nothing!
I've been drinking lots of coffee and diet coke....
She's just tried again and nope. My body is not cooperating!

the EEG glue is so difficult to get out of your hair!

shadow-light 24-03-2021 12:36 PM

At least this means that they are actually starting the process that should have been done last week finally

Stuff with caffeine in isnt exactly the best thing hydration wise

Cacoethes 24-03-2021 12:39 PM

Exactly!

That is true but I do not like water!

[Luna] 24-03-2021 12:43 PM

diet coke is actually a diuretic so would be having the opposite effect. I hate water too but it really does help the veins

shadow-light 24-03-2021 12:44 PM

how about flavoured water?

shadow-light 24-03-2021 12:44 PM

assuming you'd have access to such things of course

Cacoethes 24-03-2021 12:48 PM

Thats true Luna.

Flavoured water could be an idea.
The co op deliver with deliveroo so I could see if they have any available.

[Luna] 24-03-2021 12:49 PM

^ Good suggestion. I prefer flavoured or carbonated to just still plain water

tamobhuuta 24-03-2021 12:53 PM

I only have plain water with food or sometimes meds.

shadow-light 24-03-2021 12:53 PM

i'm not a great fan of water either, or at least not york water (oddly i like th ewater when i'm in scotland or cumbria) so i basically live on cordial. I also have hard to find veins and got advised a few years ago to try using a rehydration sachet the day before a blood test. no idea if it really works but i have enough electrolyte things about for running that i tent to use one before a bloood test now just incase it helps

Cacoethes 24-03-2021 01:00 PM

That's interesting Hazel

I'm just really hoping they can get some on Friday!
The doctor said she was really good at getting blood too!

[Luna] 24-03-2021 01:03 PM

Last time I had a blood test, they had to try three times with an ultrasound machine. Having crappy veins is such a pain!

Cacoethes 24-03-2021 01:08 PM

They did say that they wish they had an ultrasound machine here!
It is a pain.
The strange thing is, I'm usually ok to get blood from. Only from one spot though

tamobhuuta 24-03-2021 04:44 PM

The neurologist asked me to keep a diary of my spasming. I had 42 spasms this morning!

not_so_insig 24-03-2021 05:30 PM

I made a phone call. Scary but I have been putting it off since Monday.

tamobhuuta 24-03-2021 06:28 PM

Well done insig.

not_so_insig 24-03-2021 07:01 PM

It's for my coronavirus jab so was mega important. Anyway I am having it Friday afternoon.

nonperson 24-03-2021 07:13 PM

Do you not have an online booking service in Wales?

tamobhuuta 24-03-2021 07:16 PM

I got a text the day before my jab.

not_so_insig 24-03-2021 07:30 PM

No my doctors didn't text me. In Wales they send a letter as my parents had one. However I had nothing as my doctor didn't have my landline number and only knew because they updated their Facebook page.

[Luna] 24-03-2021 07:57 PM

Hi guys

not_so_insig 24-03-2021 08:07 PM

Hello Luna how are you?

[Luna] 24-03-2021 08:08 PM

tired, you? Hows your day been?

not_so_insig 24-03-2021 08:17 PM

I am ok thanks Luna. Apart from sleeping and washing my hair I haven't done much.

phonecalls are awful

[Luna] 24-03-2021 08:32 PM

Phonecalls really are the worst. Well done for making one, we know how hard that is!

not_so_insig 24-03-2021 10:15 PM

Thanks you two xxx

shadow-light 24-03-2021 11:06 PM

my PIP form turned up today  the fact it comes with its own booklet to explain it is slightly intimidating  I mean it took me 2 weeks to fill out the WCA one and 3 days to do the census so I explect the PIP form may take me a month :eyeroll:

[Luna] 25-03-2021 09:37 AM

Morning guys, how are you all?

Cacoethes 25-03-2021 09:51 AM

Morning Luna

I had a terrible night's sleep because I was freezing cold!

How are you?

shadow-light 25-03-2021 10:10 AM

morning all

Cacoethes 25-03-2021 10:29 AM

Morning Hazel
How are you?

shadow-light 25-03-2021 11:40 AM

Mainly getting stressed over the PIP form  and tired... had a rubbish nights sleep. Though having seen some if your posts about your nights sleep don't think I have the right to moan about that one... hope you get something sorted about that, being cold at night sucks

Cacoethes 25-03-2021 11:51 AM

Have you tried speaking to the citizens advice bureau. I think they help with benefit forms? Not sure on that though.

It really does suck!

tamobhuuta 25-03-2021 12:08 PM

Hi everyone. I had to take PRN to get to sleep.

Cacoethes 25-03-2021 12:10 PM

I did too. Two lots of it! It did not work

ye, i've had an email conversation with CAB this morning. I am posting the form to them with some notes, then they will phone me and we will do the form over the phone. Not great as I struggle with phones, but only option

Cacoethes 25-03-2021 03:09 PM

Not ideal but at least you’re getting some help with it.

shadow-light 25-03-2021 03:16 PM

does mean i need to phone the benefit types tomorrow and ask for an extention though which i'm not looking forward to... hopefully though they will understand that the lack of face to face appointments makes things take longer

Cacoethes 25-03-2021 04:03 PM

Fingers crossed you get a nice person!
