4 stars for this. About to start The Pants Project by Cat Clarke

Alas, whilst I enjoyed it, it has to be a 3 as I’ve not heard a single positive review from a trans person.

Next up: See You At Harry’s by Jo Knowles

Finally finished this. I gave it 2 stars (it was ok) but it was actually terrible. The blurb said it was about two women in prison but the first two thirds of the book was about one of the women's Mum's life and then about the woman's life and when the prison part came a lot of stuff was still about things outside prison. The whole life stories were mostly filled with men forcing women to have sex so it really was a not so nice book. This is the first book I have read by Martina Cole and don't think I will try any more of hers. It was also too long and drawn out.

Also Lindsay why did you like me adding ‘a little life’ to my want to reads???? Have you read it? I was erring on the side of not reading it and then today my friend was like it’s amazing read it but I’m still not sure if it’s a good idea!

I have it on my bookcase so I must have been interested in reading it at some point!

Also Cathy Glass is releasing her last book this August. She will still be writing as Lisa Stone but no more Cathy Glass books.

Pi.R^2 15-04-2024 07:42 PM

Oh wow, did Adrian finally convince her to retire then??
Also my colleague is keen to have his first jolly into the genre of Fostering Memoirs so I need to choose a Cathy Glass to lend him. Any thoughts on what would be a good intro one?

Auror. 15-04-2024 11:57 PM

have now read the pants project and sent jenna my review. it was not good.

well. it was not good as someone trying to write a trans character. but had a really good lesbian mom storyline. shame the author had to throw too much other stuff in there badly.

have asked for other hate reads from jenna as motivation to read more.

I have no idea why she's stopping writing as Cathy Glass. Also have no idea about what book to choose, I tend to forget most things I read.

Hate reads don't sound fun!

one_step_closer 16-04-2024 12:34 PM

Do you read Casey Watson, Jenna? She has just released another book.

Auror. 16-04-2024 06:14 PM

it's fun because it's just reading for sillies and not serious, which means you can just skim it and get through pretty fast, so doesn't require the same level of focus or brain that good reading would. and then get to rant about how bad it is lol. much less pressure that way!
