I have just read "Cut" by Cathy Glass and "Missing Judy" by Anne Cassidy, both of which I really got into and enjoyed, both which I recommend reading although the first you may find triggering for self harm, suicide and abuse so be careful if you do read it and I have just started reading a book called "Out Of My Depth" by Helen Bailey.

I'm still reading 'Lolita', but I left it upstairs and was far too lazy to go and get it so now I'm also reading 'Testimony' by Anita Shreve. Not really enjoying it much, it's quite boring tbh.

I finished reading a book called The Hornbeam Tree by Susan Lewis last night, it was a really good book at times there was too much details but I liked it. And it influenced a very strange dream last night too!!!

i really love the concept and the idea of humbert humbert being the narrator, etc. but i just think that maybe it was too long and some bits were really dragged out and some bits that i thought should have been expanded upon weren't really at all. |
Agree about it being too long. I'm a bit over half way through, liking most of it so far. I'll decide what I think when I'm done. I read a book quite a while ago, though, which was like.. the same. I can't remember the title or author but it was blatantly just a second rate copy of 'Lolita'. Kind of irritating feeling like I'm reading the same thing twice, though.

Now, I thought I hated the book I was reading - turns out I really enjoyed it by the end. That was The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver.
I'm now re-reading Lord of the Flies by William Golding - I read it for GCSE, and studying it so intensely really turned me off the book - but I read a few pages and remembered how good a book it was. So I'm reading it again :) |
