That's a good tip for thickening the sauce, mine is always runny no matter how much I stir it.
Are you doing much with the rest of your day? |
Was struggling to rest so just tried meditating I think it helped a little. Dinner soon and then roleplaying, hopefully it will be a good distraction.
How's everyone else? |
I hope you have a nice time jen! And that you manage to save the universe!
(Because I'm one of the idiots that lives in it!) Points if you get the reference :tongue2: I've put washing away, showered and taken meds. Now just waiting for bedtime! |
I have no plans for today other than surviving the heat Lindsay. I washed all my dishes. It took 4 bowlfuls to do my washing as the water kept on getting discoloured. By the time I had finished my dishcloth was dirty so that has had to go in the washing machine on a cycle. I think that I am going to have a cold shower before i go to bed.
|
I feel like I should know the reference, Micky Smith?
I am having fun, we are currently getting a bit of a plot dump by examining some funky alien carvings. |
Nah, guardians of the galaxy!
Glad you're having fun! It sounds so immersive! |
It really is we have atmospheric music and everything. We have just met a strange version of the same alien as the big bad who seems to have been imprisoned by the big bad and is talking to us in riddles.
|
Did you save the universe jen!
Morning everyone! I had a lie in! 6am! Lol XD |
Don't turn your nose up at a lie in! I didn't want to get up but I find it helpful to stick to my routine.
|
Morning all.
|
Hi np, how are you?
|
Hey tamo. I'm tired and unmotivated. How're you?
|
Sorry to hear that. Is there anything that would help? I'm ok. I'm planning to do more work on my book of quotes.
|
I dunno, more sleep? =P
That sounds nice. Do you have a favourite quote at the moment? |
Haven't saved the universe yet, but we are still alive so the chance to save the universe remains! We have just teleported to the big bads pyramid thing and then we ended the session because it was midnight.
|
All our lives depend on you, Jen. No pressure =)
|
Afternoon everyone.
When's your next role play session, Jen? You can't leave us like this! What have you been doing since your 'lie in' Beckie? I had a proper lie in but I've been up early this week and it wasn't too late but I'd like to go back to getting up round about 9am. I hope you don't have too much to do today, NP and you can have a rest. I hope your book of quotes is a help to you, Tamo. I'm feeling generally unwell with hay fever. I powered through going to the chemist and doing a terrible job of my housework scheduled for today and now I am sitting down. |
Sorry your hayfever is so bad, Lindsay! Well done for powering through though. I'm sure your housework was more than adequate! Sounds like it's definitely time for a sit down.
Nah, I haven't got anything to do today really. Or all weekend. No people, no where to go, so it's just jobs around the house - laundry mostly and some pottering in the garden. Need to plant up my tomatoes and sow some beans and lettuce and some other pots of more colourful stuff now that I have my compost (and a new compost scoop!) About to watch the Trooping the Colour flypast on tv and see if any come over my garden afterwards. |
I mean technically the game is set 38,000 years in the future so you guys probably aren't part of the universe my fictional self is saving :p
Next session for this game is next Friday. We considered keeping playing past midnight but we decided to be adults and get some sleep. Hayfever sucks mine is worse in tree pollen season but grass is still not fun. If you get nose symptoms I highly recommend talking to your GP or pharmacist about if a steroid nasal spray would be suitable for you. Mine makes a big difference to me. Ooh veg patches are great NP, I want one of my own one day. I used to help my Grandad with his when I was a kid so growing veg has good memories for me (ended doing more of the physical bits as he got older Nd less mobile and I got older and more capable). I hope some of the planes fly over your house that would be super cool. I was on the coast last week and saw a Chinook helicopter which was awesome. |
Too many quotes to choose from np! I'm sure I will have favourites once my book familiarises me with quotes for different occasions. I hope you enjoy the Trooping of the Colour and your gardening.
Hi LR! Sorry you've got hay-fever osc, do you take anything for it? Well done for doing stuff! |
Hm, that is a fair point... The pressure is off then.
Tree pollen is worse for me too. =/ I don't have a veg patch - that's too much effort. I just grow a few things in pots on the patio when I can be bothered. No planes came over the house but I could hear them! Thinking I should have made the effort to walk to the ideal viewing point that's nearby though... =( Chinooks are awesome. I like the Typhoons and Red Arrows best. |
NP, seriously I never do a good job of housework! Are you looking forward to having a people free weekend or would you rather not be alone the whole time? Are you very excited about your new compost scoop? Enjoy your TV, hope you do see them IRL too.
I will definitely still be around in 38,000 years. Well done for using your adult brain and eventually going to bed (late!). Thanks Tamo. I'm on antihistamines daily throughout the year for various allergies. I maybe should get a spray too. Was prescribed one a long time ago. |
Ninja NP. Sorry you didn't see the planes IRL.
|
Hello all. I am boiling. But one of my packages from overseas arrived today so am happy.
|
Does happiness cool you down at all? :-D Do we get to know what is in your package? I am always interested in good post.
|
I never do a good job of housework either. You have a schedule though and get tasks done regularly so I personally think that is an achievement worth celebrating!
I am looking forward to doing nothing this weekend. I don't think I've had a day to myself for about three weeks. And yes, I am very excited about my compost scoop! It was an impulse purchase but I use them at work and don't know why I don't have one at home because they do make scooping compost much easier! =P It's ok. I'm happy enough with just hearing them in the distance =) Maybe it's worth changing to a different antihistamine? I know I changed mine a few years ago because it seemed to stop working. And I know the one I have now does work as I've currently run out and there is a lot of sneezing occurring... =/ |
The things I do around the house that are scheduled are powered by fear!
I hope you have a lovely weekend then and be kind to yourself since the only company you'll have is you and you really better be good company! Did you just use your hands before you got the scoop? It's nice to be excited about new things whatever they are. My antihistamine had to be changed during one of my hospital admissions because it shouldn't be taken along with a med I was on. I don't know about changing antihistamines. I've never found them to be very helpful although when I tried to come off them I realised I was allergic to cats too. Maybe things would be worse without them. I hope you can get more of yours soon. Hay fever can make you feel really ill. |
Pots on the patio are a good start NP, my Dad grows potatoes in pots.
When I was a kid before my asthma came back and I became mental I wanted to be a engineer for the RAF specifically the red arrows. You do the housework Lindsay and doing it is she first step, doing something even if it's not a perfect job is much better than doing nothing. Said as someone whose shelves have needed dusting for months. Well if you will be about come help me fight the big bad alien then Lindsay? We are in a city inside a sun! We usually stop roleplaying by 11pm, Friday night is always a bit of a late one. That said although we stopped roleplaying at midnight I didn't got to bed until after 2am, my mind was awake even though my body was tired. I slept in this morning though! I majorly recommend the spray. |
It's brand new Welsh postcards for Postcrossing. Nothing interesting but sometimes I get requests for them. Otherwise I send them to addresses that I don't have a members favourite type of postcard.
I am waiting for 4 other parcels (all from the USA) but they're coming via couriers. One via evri, one via DHL and 2 via dpd. But according to tracking they're still in the USA. I am going on holiday next month so I am hoping that they'll arrive before I do go. |
I'm with you on the dusting though, Jen. Dusting is something I rarely do. Is this particular sun hot? Are all suns hot? I don't think I could fight a big bad alien, can I just cheer you all on?
|
Do the postcards have nice images on them, Dawn? That's a lot of parcels to be waiting for. Where are you going on holiday, if you're ok to mention. I hope you have a nice time.
|
I dont want to say where I am going exactly other than South England.
Here are the postcards I got:- https://postcardsmarket.com/products/wales-fw https://postcardsmarket.com/products/wales-motw It's easier to buy postcards online than in my city. Unfortunately one of my parcels was a subscription based item, if I didn't buy it now I would lose my subscription and the chance to buy the rest of the items. So I had no choice over when it was posted. One I didnt realise I was buying from the USA as I got billed in pounds not dollars. If I had known it was an USA based package I would have waited. |
Those postcards look nice and informative too. Yeah, it can be hard to get postcards from where you're from. Just in tourist places.

They have somehow hollowed out the middle of the sun and then used sci fi shields to keep the heat out so pretty normal temperature. Of course you can just cheer me on, I wouldn't really expect you to fight XD my character is a genetically engineered super soldier and it's going to be a tough fight for them! I have been outside, had lunch and am now chilling on my sofa with my feet up trying to work out what to do next. Partner is napping so I am on my own. It's still t-shirts and shorts weather here and hot in the direct sun but you no longer sweat just by being outside and there is a light breeze. I sat under my gazebo and was lovely and cool in the shade, maybe cooler than in my flat! We had some rain last night that has cooled things down. |
Better get your partner to dust so you can stay away from it.
I'm not liking the sound of this fight. But I can be good at cheering, maybe it would distract the alien and you can get ahead of the battle. It's hard to decide what to do sometimes. I made a huge list of things I could do a long time ago but it's way too much and if I ever look at it I'm just like nope to everything. It's gone all grey here. Was meant to rain at 11am but didn't. |
I am sure you are the best at cheering!
Currently I am listening to some Mike Shinodoa and considering doing some word puzzles. Not sure if I have the brain power though. You doing anything? It's switching between grey and sunny with clouds today. Tomorrow we are meant to have LOTS of rain. |
Do you have a favourite song by Mike? I haven't listened to music for ages. Word puzzles are good. I like to do that one where you write a long word or a couple of words and see how many other words you can make out of the letters.
I'm just online. I'm spending way too much time online recently but my brain won't let me do other things and it doesn't protest when I'm online. It's not good when it gets quiet here or I take a break. Will you be happy if it rains tomorrow? I have no idea about the weather here. The forecasts haven't been right recently. |
Hey guys. I am back
|
I finished my book!
|
I tend to listen to whole albums not just songs but if I had to pick I'd say Nothing Makes Sense Anymore is probably my favourite. Music is a big part of my life, at the very least I listen to music for half an hour to an hour everyday when I have my outside time but fairly regularly I listen for hours. Especially when I feel rougher. That said I listen to music and sing out loud when I am really happy. Different music for different moods kind of thing.
I have puzzle books with selections fo different puzzles in, wordsearches, crosswords, code words, sodoku, logic puzzles bit of everything really. I had a subscription last year so got 12 books and a year and a half later I have finished maybe 4 of them! Turns out finishing a while puzzle book takes me a while. I think it's partly because there will be weeks where I am really into it and do word puzzles every day and other times where I won't do any for weeks at a time. At least being online helps. Better to do something hat helps. I mean the garden will like the rain. I will probably be happy ibit rains after outside time, should dampen down the pollen and cool things down further. |
Hi ninjas!
Do you mean your quote book Tamo? Well done whatever book you finished either reading or making! |
Well done tamo!
|
My kitchen inexplicably smells strongly of mashed potato.
|
Olfactory hallucination? I had one of ketchup a while back. That or if windows are open somoenone is making the mother of all mashes?
|
Could be actually. The mentals have been acting up quite a bit!
The upstairs windows are open but i can only smell it in the kitchen! |
Yeah I finished making my quote book. With hindsight I could have spaced it out more but it suits me.
|
Well done Tamo, it doesn't matter what it looks like as long as it suits you.
I hope you're ok, Beckie. How has your day been? I'm glad you find music helpful and enjoyable, Jen. Did you try a word puzzle? My eyes don't like being online for too long. Plus I run out of things to do so I have to take a break. |
I'll be ok thanks lindsay.
No longer feel that physically unwell, but very, very tired! Think all the early mornings are catching up with me |
I came and lay down for a bit listening to music but then my headphones ran out of battery. I could charge them but that feels too much effort. Was feeling a bit off and thought I might be tired lying down and then later eating a snack helped a little bit. Still not sure what's up.
I get eyes not liking too much screen time. Have you tried the 20-20-20 rule? Every 20 minutes look away from the screen for at least 20 seconds preferably at something at least 20 metres away ( looking out the window makes this possible( Not that that would solve running out of things but still. |
