The 'I need a distraction' thread.

As you can see I am making a million threads because I'm desperately trying to distract myself.

I thought it would be good to have a thread where members can come and distract each other with mindless conversation.

p.s: Sorry about all the threads!

Cacoethes 04-11-2016 07:23 PM

I've kind of hijacked 2 of your threads already and as you may have noticed, I am excellent at mindless conversation!
And I have no life so I'm basically always here :p

Hello

Cacoethes 04-11-2016 07:34 PM

Hello!

Sketchy 04-11-2016 07:38 PM

What is everyone up to? I'm trying to heat myself up. It's freezing here.

Cacoethes 04-11-2016 07:41 PM

It is rather cold! I have the heating on now which is helping.
I also got an electric blanket recently and it is AMAZING!

Sketchy 04-11-2016 07:43 PM

It's definitely time for heating on. Brrrrrr.

Cacoethes 04-11-2016 07:47 PM

I'm also snuggled under my spongebob fleece blanket!

The time change has really thrown me off!
It feels much later than it is!

Sketchy 04-11-2016 07:50 PM

That's the dark nights that do that.

Cacoethes 04-11-2016 07:53 PM

Yep!
Going to take a while to get used to it I think!

Random. I was looking at prams online and some of them on there are up to £1500!!!
Who has the money to spend that on a pram! That's like 2 months of my rent!

Sketchy 04-11-2016 07:54 PM

That is way too much. Are they gold plated or something?

Cacoethes 04-11-2016 07:57 PM

They should be for that much!

Voldemort 04-11-2016 08:51 PM

Why is baby stuff in general so expensive?

Cacoethes 04-11-2016 09:00 PM

I have no idea!

Voldemort 04-11-2016 09:01 PM

It's ridiculous. €10 for one teeny tiny babygrow!

Cacoethes 04-11-2016 09:07 PM

Yep! its weird because they only have very basic needs usually. And they don't need LOADS of clothes.
But I guess you use about a million nappies a day and you do need quite a few baby grows because of the amount of **** that gets on them so you're also doing a ridiculous amount of washing. Some people need formula.
It all adds up I suppose! !
But there is NO reason for getting a pram that costs £1500!!

Voldemort 04-11-2016 09:10 PM

No reason at all. It's ridiculous.

Cacoethes 04-11-2016 09:22 PM

I guess that's how the other half live!

Voldemort 04-11-2016 09:30 PM

Ah yes. The other half. With their oodles of money for expensive prams!

Cacoethes 04-11-2016 09:33 PM

I got a new bag the other week. Would have cost £60 if I hadn't had vouchers for £50 of it.
My psychologist asked how much it was and I said £60. She said 'oh that's a good price!'
Must be nice to be able to get a £60 bag without a second thought!

Me and Lana were thinking about buying the london eye the other day. Only 70 million!

Voldemort 04-11-2016 09:39 PM

*Jaw drops* It must be some bag!!

I need new shoes and can't afford the £35 for them!!

Cacoethes 04-11-2016 09:43 PM

It is a very nice bag! I've wanted one for ages and finally got enough amazon vouchers to buy it for my birthday!

I usually get really cheap ones like £6 but they are destroyed within a couple of weeks! so I decided to splash out on some converse which were reduced to £35 which I hope will last a while!

Why did no one warn me how expensive being an adult is?!

Voldemort 04-11-2016 09:47 PM

I know, it's so expensive. I have other shoes but I'm very particular about what I'll wear and these shoes happen to be the same style I've been wearing for about 10 years now.

What sort of bag is it?

Cacoethes 04-11-2016 09:52 PM

I know what you mean. Once you find a good shoe you want to stick with it!

It's a brand called desigual. They do really cool brightly coloured patterns and stuff!

Voldemort 04-11-2016 09:55 PM

Oh that sounds cool! Picturessss.

Yes. I'm definitely a creature of habit. ;)

This is the bag. Photo doesn't do it justice though!
Attachment 23249

Well, change is scary!! :p

Voldemort 04-11-2016 10:11 PM

Wow. That is a very nice bag!!

Change is very scary. :(

Cacoethes 04-11-2016 10:19 PM

I love it! :-D

It is indeed! Check around online. my converse were originally £55 but were reduced to £35 on this one website.

Voldemort 04-11-2016 10:30 PM

I have. The only place I've found them is amazon and they're just plain black rather than with a design and are cheaper than they would be in say Schuh or somewhere else.

Cacoethes 04-11-2016 10:33 PM

I love schuh but it's sooo expensive!
I think I got my converse from office.
Amazon is generally good for things like this.

Voldemort 04-11-2016 10:35 PM

Yeah. I've spent a lot of money in schuh over the years! Yeah they don't seem to make my shoes any more so I have to get the closest to. Amazon is good indeed.

Cacoethes 04-11-2016 10:39 PM

Same! They have so many shoes which I NEED!! ;P
they don't make them anymore? That really sucks :(

Voldemort 04-11-2016 10:47 PM

Oh so many shoes I, too, need!

Yeah it does suck. Nvm. I can get something similar so it's all good.

Cacoethes 04-11-2016 10:48 PM

You never know, you may end up finding something better!

Voldemort 04-11-2016 10:52 PM

I doubt it. It's the same brand, same style just no design!

Cacoethes 04-11-2016 10:57 PM

Ah ok!!

There are too many fireworks going in around here for my liking!

Voldemort 04-11-2016 10:58 PM

None going off here but Guy Fawkes is not a thing in Ireland!

Cacoethes 04-11-2016 11:05 PM

You guys are lucky!!
I think they have stopped... god it's going to be worse tomorrow!

Voldemort 04-11-2016 11:24 PM

I actually quite like fireworks. I used to love bonfire night.

Nymphadora Tonks 04-11-2016 11:36 PM

It never occurred to me you don't have Bonfire Night over there! I'm going to the local park tomorrow to see them, I like fireworks

Ah I got skull converse reduced down to £15 from £65 once on one of their random shop store day sales!

Cacoethes 04-11-2016 11:42 PM

I used to like fireworks and bonfire night. Loved them actually!
But I've grown old and now I'm cranky about the sudden loud noises. They still look pretty but I can't even see them.

Voldemort 05-11-2016 01:02 AM

That's lame. :( I heard them a lot over Halloween but couldn't see them.

This!

Also this thread has made me want some more converse!

Cacoethes 05-11-2016 01:14 PM

More converse is always a good idea!

Well it's bonfire night tonight!
Not that it makes much difference because no doubt the fireworks will be going off for the next few weeks.
*sigh*

[Luna] 05-11-2016 01:38 PM

I got Wonder woman converse for £3 today!

Cacoethes 05-11-2016 01:55 PM

Sock 05-11-2016 01:57 PM

[Luna] 05-11-2016 01:58 PM
