Zurg 27-09-2023 12:30 PM

Ouch Lindsay. Better put on protective gear in that case!!! Storms are awful!!

I don't Think i'm getting ill. I've been sad and stressed for a long time and this is how my body reacts.

tamobhuuta 27-09-2023 12:39 PM

I think a box of hugs is needed!

long road 27-09-2023 01:01 PM

*leaves a massive box of hugs*

Please help yourself friends!

Iam still feeling slightly better which is amazing to be able to say. About to make some noodles for lunch

tamobhuuta 27-09-2023 01:11 PM

Great news lr.

*takes a hug*

I'm having soup.

not_so_insig 27-09-2023 01:26 PM

Tamobhuuta Drama is a free channel so provided you have a TV licence you can watch it. Uktv play is a free streaming service so I see no reason why you can't watch classic Doctors other than having no time.

tamobhuuta 27-09-2023 01:35 PM

Great, thanks insig. I will add them to my to watch list.

long road 27-09-2023 02:06 PM

Soup was my second choice Tamo but I decided I wanted noodles more. Definitely wanted something warm though to soothe my throat.

tamobhuuta 27-09-2023 02:33 PM

Noodles are good. I go through phases of having noodles.

long road 27-09-2023 03:14 PM

I am waiting around for my OT to call. She is meant to call at some point this afternoon. Appointment said 2pm but with phone appointments it's just when they have spare time that afternoon/ morning slot.

tamobhuuta 27-09-2023 03:28 PM

I hope she calls soon. I'm waiting for Crisis Team, some time between 1 and 6pm.

Zurg 27-09-2023 04:09 PM

I find waiting for calls incredibly stressful. Which is rather odd but i feel anxious about missing the call if i start doing stuff….
I've just had my new dining room chairs delivered. Quite unexpected but also quite nice since i ordered them almost 3 months ago :)

one_step_closer 27-09-2023 04:10 PM

Have you had your calls yet Jen and Tamo?

one_step_closer 27-09-2023 04:10 PM

Ninja Kat. Wow, were you expecting the delivery to take that long?

tamobhuuta 27-09-2023 04:12 PM

Still waiting for the Crisis Team. They're normally much earlier than this. How are you?

Do you like your new chairs Zurg?

one_step_closer 27-09-2023 04:23 PM

Waiting is horrible. Such a long time period too. I hope they come soon and are helpful.

I'm hoping it doesn't get too windy because it's the paper/cardboard bins that are out today for emptying tomorrow and I can just imagine mine falling over or the lid opening and stuff going all over the street.

tamobhuuta 27-09-2023 04:36 PM

It's set to be windy here too. I hope your bins remain safe.

long road 27-09-2023 04:51 PM

No calls here. She usually doesn't ring this late so hoping she hasn't forgotten our call. I expect she is just busy and will call later. I can't remember how late they work think it's like 5:30/6pm

Save the bins!!!

Zurg 27-09-2023 04:52 PM

I wrote the online shop where i ordered the chairs after the delivery deadline had passed and i didn't get them. So they informed me there was a delay from their supplier, which is totally okay. But it irritates me a bit that shops never actually inform their customers of delays until the customer gets in touch to inquire.
I hope the bin is safe, Lindsay. Maybe you should tape the lid shut. With duct tape *insert evil laughter*
I hope they come by soon, Tamo. That's a long time to wait :(

Zurg 27-09-2023 04:53 PM

Ninja Jen. Crossing my fingers that your phone rings soon!!!

not_so_insig 27-09-2023 04:59 PM

My bin men are on strike for the next 3 weeks so I can't put the bins out because they won't get collected  .

long road 27-09-2023 05:18 PM

Who are you planning to duct tape now Zurg???

I think I will go make dinner. This will clearly summon my phone call if it's going to happen.

not_so_insig 27-09-2023 05:20 PM

It's only a tiny bit windy here. Mostly rain.

tamobhuuta 27-09-2023 05:32 PM

So they SHOULD come in the next half hour. I've made a hot chocolate to chivvy them, everyone knows they come at inconvenient times.

long road 27-09-2023 05:44 PM

Apparently even writing that I was about to make dinner was enough to summon my phone call. She let me vent a bit about my bad luck physical health wise which was nice and much needed. We aren't trying anything extra right now as I just need to try and focus on getting over covid. But we talked over some symptoms and various bits. She is going to call again next week and we may look at how to bring in respiratory physio into routine in a way that is sustainable for FND.

Hope your hot chocolate trick works as well as my going to make dinner one did Tamo!

Not that windy or rainy here right now was a fair amount of both earlier.

Now to actually make dinner...

Cacoethes 27-09-2023 05:48 PM

Whadduuup!
I finished early so had a couple of pints with E and L came to join us also
And picked up my parcel. And got garlic doughballs because m&s is only a few shops down from tk maxx

tamobhuuta 27-09-2023 05:49 PM

I'm glad you had a good phone call. I'm still waiting for my visit. What are you having for dinner?

long road 27-09-2023 06:29 PM

Garlic doughballs for the win!!!!!!

:nono: :nono: :nono: tut tut Crisis Team!

I have just made pasta bake should be ready in like 5 minutes

tamobhuuta 27-09-2023 06:39 PM

Someone I didn't know from the Crisis Team came. He told me I have a bed on one of our local wards tomorrow evening.

long road 27-09-2023 07:01 PM

Can you get a bag together to keep you occupied of all the stuff you will need in hospital plus a few home comforts?

Have replied in your thread re: the serious feeling side.

one_step_closer 27-09-2023 07:02 PM

How are you feeling about that, Tamo? I hope you're ok and settle in well and everyone is kind and it is helpful and you get home soon. Lots of 'ands' there!

Bin people on strike is never good.

Glad you got your phone call, Jen. Now I know the secret to summoning people! What kind of pasta bake did you make?

I've never had garlic dough balls...

Cacoethes 27-09-2023 07:12 PM

L got some garlic doughballs tio
She has referred to them as 'garlic crack'

Well done for cooking dinner jen! Pasta bake is a top tier meal

At least the wait is over now tamo
And you have time to pack

tamobhuuta 27-09-2023 07:40 PM

Thanks guys, I'll pack tomorrow.

Cacoethes 27-09-2023 07:48 PM

Hopefully it will be a short stay!

long road 27-09-2023 08:17 PM

The other secret to summoning phone calls is to get in the shower. But it is more risky and you needed a trusted helper to answer the phone for you and stall for a little bit XD

I made tuna sweetcorn pasta bake with a jar of tomato pasta sauce and cheddar.

Did have the chat with OT about how I am doing a bit more than I should with FND and having just got out of hospital with asthma so am trying to pace, partner has not been capable of anything though and I have had some limited capability so have stepped up.

If only garlic doughballs would survive the post we could mail Lindsay some.

Cacoethes 27-09-2023 08:20 PM

Tuna pasta bake with cheese bumps it up to god tier!

Would definitely mail them if i could!
Well, actually, i don't think they'd last long enough in my house to even make it to the post office XD

long road 27-09-2023 08:49 PM

Tuna pasta bake is my go to as nearly always have tuna in the tins cupboard. And pasta bake without cheese feels wrong. Usually I mix mozzarella for meltyness with cheddar for flavour but only had cheddar in as haven't really meal planned this week. And cheddar is the best cheese at least in terms of versatility.

Do they have pizza express in Scotland? Maybe we could send a gift card??? Pity Lindsay probably doesn't get deliveroo or we could send them that way.

Having checked they do have Pizza Express in Scotland and there are 4 within 30 miles of Lindsay. None super close however.

Cacoethes 28-09-2023 05:35 AM

But the pizza express doughballs are not as good as m&s ones
Has to be m&s!

Morning everyone

long road 28-09-2023 08:56 AM

Ah well maybe there is an M&S that does delivery. Lindsay needs to experience doughballs!

Morning Beckie!

Looks like you didn't sleep great. I didn't get to sleep unti afte 2am but now I am off the steroids my body wil let me sleep a little later so only just woke up 5 minutes ago

When do you have to leave for your appointment?

Cacoethes 28-09-2023 09:02 AM

Morning!

How are you?

Yeah. I was inexplicably SUPER hot just before i went to bed. Had the fan on and windows open! I was worried it was the first sign of getting ill. Especially as we were all trying a new cocktail behind the bar from the same glass (common occurrence, probably how i got covid last time) XD
But i feel absolutely fine and a normal temperature this morning!
I woke up at 5am but that's not unusual.

Train is at 9:31am! So I'll probably leave in about 15 mins.

long road 28-09-2023 09:48 AM

Feeling pretty ill. Playing the fun game of am I breathless because of asthma or Covid? Or both?? Am on the list for nurse practitioner to give me a callback.

Glad you dont seem ill this morning. I can confirm Covid is not a vibe!

Hope your journey goes smoothly

Cacoethes 28-09-2023 10:09 AM

Hope she calls back promptly!

Tis not.
I was really ill with it when i had it

Thanks! Alls well so far

tamobhuuta 28-09-2023 10:11 AM

Morning everyone. I don't envy your early mornings. I had to force myself out of bed at 9.15

Cacoethes 28-09-2023 10:23 AM

Morning!
It's just who i am now XD

Hope today goes ok tamo
How're you feeling?

tamobhuuta 28-09-2023 10:44 AM

Scared.

Cacoethes 28-09-2023 10:55 AM

Valid feeling. It is a scary thing

long road 28-09-2023 10:55 AM

It ended up being the risk adverse duty GP who I have spoke to twice and not found useful in the past rather than the nurse practitioner who knows me. I checked my Obs over phone as have pulse oximeter and thermometer they were ok and advice was it sounds like Covid is mostly causing breathlessness but Covid could be triggering your asthma so keep taking your inhalers like you usually would. Call us back or go to hospital if it gets worse.

Oh well. Going to try and nap now.

I am not quite as accepting of mornings as Beckie but waking up around 9am has now become a lie in... Which does feel a little odd.

Did you manage to take your PRN this morning Tamo? Hope you can get through today and that the ward is a good one when you get there this evening

Ocado do m&s food but they don't deliver everywhere (they're the only supermarket that doesn't deliver to me). They don't deliver to Lindsay.

tamobhuuta 28-09-2023 11:00 AM

Yes I took the PRN. My anxiety was very high as soon as i woke up and the meds helped because I feel better now. I hope you have a good nap.

Thanks for the affirmation Cacoethes.

one_step_closer 28-09-2023 11:18 AM

Morning everyone.

Thank you for all your planning about how I can get doughballs! There might be an M&S somewhere.

I hope your appointment goes well, Beckie.

Are you ok with the advice, Jen? It's a shame you didn't get to speak to the nurse practitioner.

Sending you good wishes, Tamo. You will get through this. Keep us updated if you can and if it's ok with you.

How are you, Dawn?
