Crumpet is a lovely name for a bear Tamo. I have lots of cuddly animal friends. I think some people on here have met my main safe cuddly Ducky.
I haven't got any big Easter plans, I had some bad experiences with the church I used to be part of and while I think I still believe in God I got turned off organised religion. Might go to in laws for a roast in Sunday. I am having a slow day. Had a few seizures in the early hours of the morning so feeling pretty rubbish physically. |
I'm sorry you had some seizures and aren't feeling good, Jen. Slow day is ok and it's also ok to rest and do whatever your body needs. I'm sorry you have things that make life hard for you at points. How is your pain today?
|
Pain is fairly under control today just some low level body aches. Feeling fatigued, brain fog and a bit dizzy/floaty. I am tucked up in bed watching some YouTube and considering a nap even though I have only been awake 2 hours.
I would like to find a new church one day, I miss the community and shared faith but it's complicated. |
Church can be hard for lots of people for lots of reasons. I find it hard.
|
Well done for going despite finding it hard Tamo. I can tell your faith means a lot to you.
|
Does anyone remember when they stop selling hot cross buns? Is it immediately after Easter Sunday? I might have to stock up as they are amazingly delicious
|
Pretty much on Sunday long road! You know what, I am yet to have a hot cross bun this year.
|
Hot cross buns are probably my favourite seasonal sweet treat. Prefer them to simnel cake, easter eggs, Stollen, mince pies, christmas pudding and even Christmas cake (which is a close second it loses out because it's too rich to have loads of).
Will have to send partner to the supermarket tomorrow. |
I do love hot cross buns. But the best thing about Easter is creme eggs.
|
I am not as fond of creme eggs since they changed the recipe. They are a bit too sweet for me these days
|
I didn't even notice they had changed...
|
I'm not sure if I like traditional hot cross buns. I like some of the new flavoured ones. My favourite Easter treat is a chocolate egg. Creme Eggs are very sweet. Are they still doing that thing where you might get a white chocolate Creme egg and you win something?

I got home from work to a referral letter for some therapy, FINALLY. I'm going to have to try change my work shift, and if I can't it says they'll just discharge me.
It also says they dont offer appointments not in working hours, so I'll have to see if work can work around it and give me some late shifts on those days, otherwise I'll have to just say I can't have the support. |
I really hope you can work something out that allows you to have the therapy. Is there not something that says employers have to give you time to go to appointments?
|
I hope you can organise with work to have the therapy Ahimsa!
|
How has your day been, Tamo?

That doesn't sound fair when it's something so important to your health and well-being. I really hope you are able to change your work shift.
|
Yeah, but it has to work with the hours the business needs. If no one can swap shifts with me, I can't go.
|
It's been ok thanks osc, how about you?
I've decided not to go to Mass this evening, too stressful. |

Under the act you count as disabled if if you have a physical or mental impairment that has a 'substantial' and 'long-term' negative effect on your ability to do normal daily activities. So it has to have lasted at least 12 months and work may want proof of a diagnosis/ evidence of your condition, which you should be ble to request to provide to occupational health rather than a manager. This link explains what reasonable adjustments are under the law https://www.acas.org.uk/reasonable-adjustments And this one specifically covers disability related absencehttps://www.acas.org.uk/supporting-d...elated-absence They might be able to say you need to take unpaid leave if that is in your contract. But there is scope for them to for them to give you a late shift one day so you could go to therapy on the morning. Or rather than take a while day off you only take an hour unpaid at the end of the day to attend an appointment. It is worth a try anyway. Hope you can access therapy you deserve help. |

We'll see what they say when I'm less drunk. That's a future Beth problem. I've been out for drinks. Now is NOT the time to email work! I can't afford unpaid leave. I'm on minimum wage and im not eligible for any financial support |
Good morning people.
|
Morning!
|
Hiya :) how are you?
|
Living the dream :tongue2:
How are you? |
Hi Tamo and Beckie :)
I feel worn out. And have a tummy ache. And have to leave in less than half an hour. Which i don't want. I'd rather stay at home and cuddle my zoo and feel sorry for myself….. But my brother is home on Easter holiday and i want to see him!!! |
I'm ok. The weather here is beautiful.
When are you seeing your brother Zurg? |
Hey zurg!
Aww hopefully seeing your brother will make you feel better! The weather is indeed beautiful! I've just been outside for some fresh air and didn't even need a hoodie! So warm in the sun! |
Afternoon everyone,
after some pondering I want to just remind everyone that this is a distraction thread in general chat. Therefore please think about whether what you're posting is appropriate, specifically relating to MH content. In the past people have mentioned not doing well which is fine and even said things like "I've mentioned it in my RV/ support thread" which is also fine, but much more detail than that does need to stay elsewhere. If there's interest for a general MH support thread in a more serious board, I'm happy to set that up for you. I will start editing stuff from now that gets posted here that is inappropriate. It is a fast-moving thread so if people could report it when it's getting a bit much that's really helpful. Thanks all! I may repost this again tomorrow or something to make sure everyone sees it. Any questions just yell :) P.S. no one is in trouble at all so please don't feel bad or panic-quit the thread; everyone is welcome, I just thought we needed a reminder of the aims of the thread :) |
That's my fault guys, I'm sorry.
Drunk me posted something last night. |
Not your fault!
Think the thread has been getting a bit serious for a while. Every time a nurse does my vitals and they put the sats monitor on, I get compliments on my nails :-D |
Ahimsa, not your fault, we've all been getting serious.
What nails do you have Cacoethes? My brother went to the Procession of Witness in town this morning and he said our church didn't have a cross at the head as usual. What's a procession without a dead Jesus?!? |
Afternoon All! (although it feels like morning yay whacky sleep patterns).
Echoing the others not your fault Ahimsa think we all have used it as a bit of a support thread / gone a bit more serious at times rather than just chat. Trying to decide whether to get out of bed yet, not been awake long and last night was a weird one. I get to roleplay this evening and am excited about continuing our adventures in the alien ruin. Were there other crosses sans Jesus? Procession of Witnesses on Good Friday is definitely the time and place for dead Jesus. One might even say it's is the most relevant time and place. |
Tamo thought you ought to know that I am eating crumpets for brunch.
|
Hey everyone. I agree that we have all used this thread for serious stuff at points. I think it's ok to say things like we're not doing well but only go into detail about it in another thread if we need to. Basically what Jenna said I think.
I hope you feel better, Kat and enjoy seeing your brother. Is it online or in person role-play, Jen? I hope you enjoy it. Does the sats monitor read through your nails, Beckie? I know some nails that have been done up don't. What nails do you have at the moment? The weather is lovely here too. But I will be staying inside like my dark self! I just went to get my prescription and to Tesco. |
Don't eat Tamo's bear!!!

On Wednesday we alternate between an a homebrew game where we are leading a revolution and a pathfinder adventure path where we are part of a circus and trying to solve a curse on the land. In these games two of my friends GM. On Friday it's our sci-fi game with a different group of friends and my partner GM's Quote:
You have been outside more than me so far OSC! You doing anything inside? |
Is the online version like a computer game and when you meet you are the characters? Sorry for all the questions. I have no idea about role-play but am interested to know more about it.
How was/is your crumpet? What do you put on it? Are you going to try for some outdoors time? I just put a washing on but don't think I've hung it up yet. I didn't hear the beeping to tell me it's finished but I forgot about it and it will need sorting now which I'm away to do now since Crookshanks has just stood up on my lap. |
No worries for the questions I am happy to answer. The online version is very similar to what we would do gathered around a table with battle map just simulated. We talk to each other on discord, but instead of using a battle map on a table and being shown/ using print outs, and rolling dice we use a virtual tabletop program. Instead of paper character sheets we have ones on the computer, and instead of rolling dice you click a button on your character sheet and it rolls the dice for you using a random number generator for the result and adding on bonuses from your sheet. And then the virtual tabletop part is an image of a map and we all have token to represent our characters that we can move around.
It's really good fun and we kept.up with online post pandemic as it means we can play with friends who don't live nearby and it's easier for me to manage my FNDthan it would be out and about or with a load of people in our flat. My crumpets were tasty, I just had them with butter. I am not sure whether I will try to go outside. First step is get dressed and get to the living room. Well done for remembering your washing, and well done Crookshanks for clearly realising you had an important task to do *nods* |
I'm not going outside today. I'm going to watch the Good Friday service online.
Long road, I don't know if other churches brought crosses, I will ask mg brother. Hurray for crumpets! I had one with chocolate spread for breakfast. My bear approves. |
Hello all. I have been taking a rest from ryl hence the lack of posting. It's boiling outside here it feels like 30 degrees. So I have retreated indoors. I have washed my bedding today.
|
Good to see you back insig, I hope the break was helpful. Well done on the bedding.
|
I have dark blue starry nails!
Sats monitor seems ok with them. Probably not AS accurate but still fine. Mmm crumpets |
I would try and send you crumpets through the internet Beckie but I don't think my router would like it ..
Chocolate spread on a crumpet sounds good Tamo, I like almond butter on mine sometimes. Almonds are the only nut my partner isn't allergic too. I need to look for a chocolate spread that is hazelnut free so I can have some, anyone know of one? You got any plans for your inside time Dawn? |
Maybe one day, with technological advances!
I like marmite on crumpets. Or just butter |
I was just checking post count stats (/mouring the lost posts in the uni thread) - Beckie, do you know you're now the second highest poster of all time???
|
Congrats Beckie!!!!
I have decided, despite feeling pretty rubbish, to get 10 things done before bed tonight. Please support me in my endeavours. If I get them all done, I am treating myself to a trip to York tomorrow (I only live a half hour drive from there) and a new ring from my favourite shop there. 1) 1 load of washing - to be washed, dried and put away. 2) 1 form filled in from my pile 3) 1 floor mopped 4) Clean the toilet and sink 5) Measure the doors (I'm meant to be looking to replace them because most of them are broken) 6) Get the tiles out of the car (I found 3 boxes of tiles for free on a reuse Facebook page) 7) Put the ladder back in the garage, it's been propped up against the wall for a week waiting for me to put it away 8) Clean the window ledge in my room 9) Do some washing up 10) Empty the kitchen bin. |
Long road - I usually get Jim Jam but not everywhere sells it. Also Dairy Milk but that's even less available.
Well done Cacoethes! |
Thanks tamobhuuta.
Jen I am just chilling inside. Tv is crap these bank holidays so I am sitting here wondering what to do. |
