Being tired is allowed. And hummus and crackers sounds good to me!

Sketchy 09-09-2017 07:42 PM

Thanks Eska. You up to much today?

Eska 09-09-2017 07:44 PM

Nope, I've had a quiet day. One of my friends is having a big birthday celebration but it's a way away, in the city, and I'd only know one other person so I've decided against going.

not_so_insig 09-09-2017 07:45 PM

We don't have casualty to talk about tonight. But the good news is that it is on next week!

Eska 09-09-2017 07:48 PM

No, my mother is on television instead!

Sketchy 09-09-2017 07:49 PM

That's a shame Eska. Hope you have a nice evening in though.

Oh no Dawn! I need casualty! I'll miss Dylan.

Sketchy 09-09-2017 07:49 PM

Really Eska? That's awesome.

Eska 09-09-2017 07:50 PM

Yeah, she's in the BBC symphony chorus.

Sketchy 09-09-2017 07:51 PM

That's really cool. Will you be watching it then?

Buttons. 09-09-2017 07:54 PM

That's awesome Eska!

Hope you enjoy your hummus :) Lorraine.

I'm still full from my massive lunch (had pudding as well :p) have the makings of sandwhich or toast if I'm hungry later though.

Sketchy 09-09-2017 07:55 PM

Ooh what kind of pudding Katy?

Eska 09-09-2017 07:57 PM

I have it on at the moment, not really watching though! Watching orchestral/choral stuff makes me kind of sad that I don't do any of that any more, especially when they're playing pieces I've played before (like right now).

Sketchy 09-09-2017 07:59 PM

Could you maybe take it up again? It might all come back to you.

Buttons. 09-09-2017 08:00 PM

A chocolate brownie type thing.

That's a shame Eska, is there no chance of you getting back into it?

Eska 09-09-2017 08:02 PM

Nom chocolate brownies!

Not really - the kind of thing I enjoy means committing to weekly rehearsals and regular concerts, and that's not really something I can do for now.

Sketchy 09-09-2017 08:04 PM

Sounds yummy Katy.

That's a shame Eska. Maybe in the future.

Eska 09-09-2017 08:05 PM

Maybe. For now I'll sick to laughing at the fact that my mother when she's trying to memorise multiple verses of Finnish :P

Sketchy 09-09-2017 08:07 PM

That must be hard to learn. Exciting though to have your mum on tv. I was on tv as a kid for one episode of a children's program. My dad still has it on video and it's very embarrassing.

not_so_insig 09-09-2017 08:19 PM

I was on Newsround when John Craven was still presenting it. Oh and I was on Bargain Hunt.

Buttons. 09-09-2017 08:20 PM

I was once in silhouette on TV talking at the end of a police report on 136s and mental health workers on shift with the police. Not the greatest claim to fame :P

Sketchy 09-09-2017 08:20 PM

That's great Dawn.

Sketchy 09-09-2017 08:20 PM

That must have been difficult Katy.

not_so_insig 09-09-2017 08:21 PM

Ps Beckie hasn't posted today. I hope that she's ok.

Buttons. 09-09-2017 08:21 PM

It was...'interesting' :P

That's great Dawn, how did you do on bargain hunt?

Sketchy 09-09-2017 08:21 PM

Yeh I noticed too. Hope she's ok.

I'll fb her.

not_so_insig 09-09-2017 08:23 PM

I also did a dvd about safeguarding which until a year ago was online.

Buttons. 09-09-2017 08:23 PM

No need actually, just seen she's at some kind of festival thing.

Eska 09-09-2017 08:26 PM

Isn't this the weekend Chels is visiting? I'd bet they're having a blast.

As far as I'm aware I have never appeared in filmed media of any sort...

Sadly I was in the crowd rather than a contestant. I saw Tim Wonnacott. But you see me walking past the contestants on the telly. They bought a teddy bear and Catherine Southon was the expert. The other expert was James Braxton and he bought half a barrel.

not_so_insig 09-09-2017 08:31 PM

I have done a dvd about mh too and an academic research one for Lincoln University. I got paid for that and a free lunch.

Sketchy 09-09-2017 08:32 PM

Oh I forgot about that. I hope she's having fun.

I like our posts here. I like posting on this thread.

Sketchy 09-09-2017 08:33 PM

That sounds interesting Dawn. You've certainly been on tv a few times.

Eska 09-09-2017 08:33 PM

Wow, Dawn! How did you get involved in all those things?

Buttons. 09-09-2017 08:43 PM

This thread is indeed awesome Lorraine :)

Eska 09-09-2017 08:46 PM

Agreed!

Buttons. 09-09-2017 09:18 PM

...very odd, just had a friend request on facebook from an ex of mine from when I was about 18 who at the time broke up with me, on facebook, which is low in and of itself, but who along with her friend told me I should die (knowing I'd made attempts before)...why try and contact me after all these years? *paranoia city*

Eska 09-09-2017 09:30 PM

Ugh. Ignore! I recently had an ex get back in touch with me and we caught up as friends, which was fine, but then he wanted to rehash our break-up (five years earlier) and have ~cathartic conversations~ about it and then got upset when I said I didn't have anything to say about it all.

It was particularly entitled and ugh because I was relatively ill at the time when we broke up, so it's not a time I'm interested in revisiting just because he hasn't managed to get over it.

Basically, exes suck.

Eska 09-09-2017 09:32 PM

Also Katy, what she did to you was way out of line and I'm sorry that happened.

Buttons. 09-09-2017 09:33 PM

I have to admit bar one other psychopath I have remained on good terms with most of my exes indeed one of them is my best friend :) I just really dont understand why she is contacting me now of all times?

Eska 09-09-2017 09:34 PM

Ah, fair enough. I will make exceptions for your nice exes :P

It does seem odd! I guess you could always ask her?

Its okay some people just suck she went through a very mature faze her and her friend of sending me the lyric live and let die at the time>>>weird

Lots of lovely people on this thread though and irl so not going to waste my time on prats> I just messaged her saying why on earth would you send me a friend request? and am leaving it at that obviously not accepting the rquest!!

Eska 09-09-2017 09:48 PM

Good move

Sketchy 09-09-2017 09:59 PM

That's strange that she would friend request. But you did the right thing. No point letting people like that back into your life. You have many other people who care about you. You don't need her and deserve better.

Buttons. 09-09-2017 10:05 PM

Precisely. So what's everyone up to/watching on TV, anything good? I'm rewatching the film Milk about Harvey Milk the gay rights pioneer and activist before I lend it to the extremely camp receptionist at the tattoo place I went to who wants to see it :P

Sketchy 09-09-2017 10:09 PM

I'm watching Greeks and geeks on Netflix.

Buttons. 09-09-2017 10:17 PM

That sounds interesting Lorraine!

Sketchy 09-09-2017 10:19 PM

It's an old program, but ok so far. Yours sounds interesting too.

Sketchy 09-09-2017 10:20 PM

Oops it's Freaks and geeks. Grrr autocorrect!

Buttons. 09-09-2017 10:22 PM

I was a bit confused with the Greeks thing-thought it might be a history doc!

If you haven't seen the film Milk you have to, it's so incredibly well made and based on the life of such an incredible person.
