whispershadow 29-05-2020 09:48 PM

I work and I still get mixed up over what day it is.

chinahorse 29-05-2020 09:51 PM

I never not what day it is when I work either. I have friday and sunday off which kind of throws me off.

nonperson 29-05-2020 10:17 PM

I'm never entirely sure nowadays either. My one other colleague does different days to me so Tuesdays feel like Mondays and Thursdays always feel like Fridays.

You have a sort of split weekend Lillie. That must be really annoying.

chinahorse 29-05-2020 10:29 PM

I hate it np. Like I dont care what days my 'weekend'fall on but I like to have two days together. I will work on it when iget qualified and they have more of a reason to want to keep me. It used to work because I needed a day off to seecmht and stuff.

nonperson 29-05-2020 10:49 PM

Yeah two separate days off is not a decent rest but like you say it won't be like that forever.

chinahorse 29-05-2020 10:53 PM

Yeah. Done it before with split weekends. Know I cant sustain it for more than about 6months. But hey ho.

Anyone have plans for the weekend? I need ideas!

nonperson 30-05-2020 10:18 AM

Morning all.

No plans, just food shop as normal and really need to crack on with some gardening.

Do you want to go to B&Q for me? =P

chinahorse 30-05-2020 10:30 AM

Would if I could np!

I'm washing my bedding and did my mountain of washing up. Yes. My life is THAT thrilling.

nonperson 30-05-2020 10:37 AM

Ah I also have the mountain of washing up to do too. And desperately need to put my summer duvet on the bed. So yeah, my life is much the same!

I'm not sure you'd want to go if you knew my B&Q shopping list - mostly bags of gravel! Which I won't be able to fit into my car all in one go. Thinking that it can wait until next week... I also want compost for some tomato plants. Does Asda sell compost?

chinahorse 30-05-2020 10:45 AM

If it's a big Asda it probably will yeah.

chinahorse 30-05-2020 10:45 AM

May even sell gravel. Aldi is and so is morrisons. I spend a lot of time looking at it waiting to go in.

nonperson 30-05-2020 10:49 AM

Hmmm, I shall see later then! Kinda need a lot of it though. B&Q/Wickes don't seem to want to deliver.

tamobhuuta 30-05-2020 11:51 AM

My dad got wood chippings delivered, could you order gravel?

I might go for a walk with Mum and big sister.

one_step_closer 30-05-2020 12:27 PM

All I know about shopping is food shopping and online shopping for random non-needed things.

I hope you get to go for a walk later Tamo.

chinahorse 30-05-2020 02:34 PM

May be that everyone is trying to buy similar stuff np?

How is everyone?

nonperson 30-05-2020 02:40 PM

Yeah that's probably exactly why.

I'm sitting in a patch of shade in my garden, having a break from trying to get things planted.

chinahorse 30-05-2020 03:29 PM

Eek. Make sure to drink lots!!

nonperson 30-05-2020 03:53 PM

Definitely am. Was taking it slow but think I'm going to give up for now. The sun moved around too quickly. =P

Time for food and Chicken Run is on tv.

not_so_insig 30-05-2020 05:08 PM

Afternoon all. I am struggling to breathe today due to the high pollen and the fact that there's a fire less than 5 miles away. Sitting inside with windows closed. Throat feels like it's tightening up. Plus my back is hurting.

My postcard to the USA has arrived! I originally sent it over 3 months ago and it never arrived so I sent it again about 10 days ago. I sent another at the same time to another address in the USA and 2 to Russia but they havent arrived yet. But Russia post is slow at times even before the coronavirus.

chinahorse 30-05-2020 07:45 PM

Antihistamine? Inhaler?

Chicken run is good.

I've watered the plants and fed the cat. Wating peanut butter porridge now. What's everyone else up to?

not_so_insig 30-05-2020 09:04 PM

I have taken benadryl. They have managed to put the fire out now. Between the two of them my throat is near normal. I am just more breathless than normal.

nonperson 30-05-2020 10:10 PM

I'm trying to decide how badly I want to maybe see the Falcon 9 in the sky... and whether it's worth a trip out in the dark later. =/

Harley 30-05-2020 10:19 PM

I just watched the launch online, pretty amazing! I've not looked into the skywatching side of it - what will there by to see from the UK? I'm really far north so it gets dark super super late so I probably won't be able to stay up late enough to pitch black, even if the skies are clear!

nonperson 30-05-2020 10:25 PM

It was very amazing.

It's passing by at about 10:15 but really low on the south west horizon... so unless you're up high and have a clear view it's unlikely to be seen. And possibly not up north anyway? I don't know.

I can get somewhere higher with trees in the distance so not a clear horizon view... but it's a bit of a trek in the dark with not proper paths... for something I might not actually be able to see.

Argh, I don't know what to do.

Harley 30-05-2020 10:33 PM

See how the weather is maybe. If the conditions are good then these are the sort of things that are hard to regret doing!

It is amazing what we can do when we put our minds to it as a species. If only most of the efforts were directed generally in a better direction

nonperson 30-05-2020 10:44 PM

The weather is good, but I think I'll just have a look in the garden instead... I'm not really meant to be wandering around in the dark in the place I want to go, heh.

And yes, totally agree. One day the world will devote itself to good pursuits and Starfleet Academy will become a real thing. =P

Harley 31-05-2020 10:25 AM

Did you venture out? It was still dusky light when I went to bed (still quite late) and I randomly got up for a drink at 4:30am to a most gorgeous sunrise.

So would have had no chance of seeing anything even if there was something to see. I once saw the ISS going over years ago - it can be very clear here at night but around June time it's almost 24 hours of day time!

one_step_closer 31-05-2020 10:39 AM

Morning everyone. One of my friends saw the falcon. How are you all today?

nonperson 31-05-2020 10:51 AM

No, I didn't go out but hung out a window in the hope that I was up high enough but no luck. There was still quite a bit of light in the west even at 10:15pm. I'm guessing you're not in Suffolk after all, Harley. =P

I've used this site to see when the ISS is going over: https://spotthestation.nasa.gov/sightings/ It's pretty cool to watch it going over.

Morning Lindsay. Your friend was really lucky!

I'm tearful (space stuff has really got to me) but will do more pottering in the garden and avoid food shopping today. How're you?

one_step_closer 31-05-2020 11:07 AM

It's a huge thing, especially with all the negative things that are going on, no wonder you feel tearful. It sounds like you have good plans for your day. I hope you have a nice day. Have you got enough food in the house?

I'm not great. Still trying to figure out how to get through the day in the least painful way.

nonperson 31-05-2020 11:16 AM

It's silly really, I don't know why I feel it so much. =/

Anyhoo, yeah should be a nice day. I've plenty of food, there were just some specific things I was after but I can scrape through. It's kinda nice having a weekend without the stress of a food shop.

I'm wondering about making bread pudding too.

You can get through the day <3 What have you got to keep you busy? Any cooking or baking?

tamobhuuta 31-05-2020 12:11 PM

Morning everyone. Beautiful day here and my mum has very kindly hung my washing out - she needed the washing machine!

one_step_closer 31-05-2020 02:04 PM

What is in bread pudding (apart from bread) I've never had it.

That's one way to get your washing hung out for you Tamo!

I just can't focus on much. I go to start something and then slap my head because I can't do it. I've done a washing and I'm supposed to also hoover. I really should get out too.

Cacoethes 31-05-2020 02:38 PM

Is bread pudding the same as bread and butter pudding?

I'm also doing washing though no line to hang it out on
Washing smells so much nicer and fresher when it's been on the line!

Don't pressure yourself lindsay
I wish I had something helpful to say but I know you can do it!

nonperson 31-05-2020 04:38 PM

Similar but not the same as bread and butter pudding, it's more cakey and without the cream.

Er, so bread, milk, eggs, sugar, sultanas, cinnamon and nutmeg (or mixed spice). Slop it all together and pop it in the oven.

It reminds me of home. =(

I find it hard to focus on things too and starting things can sometimes seem like a pointless mountain to climb but I can only echo Beckie - there's no pressure, just do what you can and try not to punish yourself if things don't happen.

not_so_insig 31-05-2020 06:49 PM

Hello all. I feel not so good today but Idk why. But I managed to have a shower and wash my hair.

one_step_closer 31-05-2020 06:55 PM

Well done Dawn, that's an achievement when you're not feeling so great.

chinahorse 31-05-2020 07:20 PM

Bet it feels nice to be fresh in this weather. Well done.

Cacoethes 31-05-2020 08:06 PM

Sounds yummy np!

one_step_closer 31-05-2020 08:55 PM

Does not sound yummy NP, sorry.

tamobhuuta 31-05-2020 09:18 PM

I think I probably have had bread pudding, I think it was nice. L made us cinnamon buns which were definitely nice.

Cacoethes 31-05-2020 09:31 PM

Mmmm cinnamon buns!
If I ever get a cake from the local cafe I'll get a cinnabun!

one_step_closer 31-05-2020 09:33 PM

My brother has been making lots of cinnamon buns recently, shame I can't have any!

Cacoethes 31-05-2020 09:58 PM

Hopefully soon lindsay!

It did not turn out very yummy either... =(

Cacoethes 31-05-2020 11:36 PM

Aww that's a shame :(

nonperson 01-06-2020 11:20 AM

The mix was too moist so it had to go in the oven for an extra hour and it's still a bit undercooked. I think the same thing happened the last time too. Still edible though. =P

one_step_closer 01-06-2020 01:07 PM

Afternoon, how are you all?

nonperson 01-06-2020 02:32 PM

Moist, hehe. I love using that word. =)

Feeling quite blah and unwell today, forcing myself to crack on at work...

How's your day been so far?

tamobhuuta 01-06-2020 02:37 PM
