Ack, you can always buy her a mocktail and show her adults behave when they are out partying. A valuable life lesson right there if i may say so myself!!! XD
I had to put the laundry away by myself. The sneaky bunny git didn't show up until the work was done. And then he expected treats!!! Rude!!! (Yeah, he Got treats, okay?? I'm not made of Stone….!!) ((Actually, being made of Stone could be rather cool….)) |

The beach was very windy and rainy so mostly watched the waves from the car. The wind was rocking the car and I am pretty unsteady on my legs and didn't want to get blown away! Was nice to get out into the world though and we also visited the Alpacas who live in a paddock by the road to the beach we went to. Maybe wait a few years for a nightclub XD She could come to glow beats though? Goodness Zurg that's a marathon of laundry doing. I wouldn't have had the patience for that many loads, meltdown while it must have sucked to experience seems understandable. Well done for keeping it together until it was all done |
I've never been to this particular club, but from its reputation, I don't really want her seeing how these adults party XD
Hahaha! Findus getting out of all the hard work! Unfortunately glow beatz is 16+ And also a 40 min drive from where they live! My friend can't find her ID anywhere which is a bit of a disaster! They check ID for absolutely everyone, not necessarily just for underage, just in case stuff happens and they can report to pubwatch. I really hope she can find it! |
Are you dressing in emo style?
Disaster your friend can't find her ID, I suggest checking all her bags and coats. In my going out days I often lost mine because I left it in whatever handbag or coat I had taken with me. Last time I went out. Hope you get to enjoy your night. I just had dinner and am now watching some YouTube on my TV |
I always dress in emo style ;p
She said she turned her flat upside down and looked everywhere! Looks like we're not going now which kinda sucks. But probably for the best because my grading is at 9am and leaving at 8:30am tomorrow. Watching anything good? |
:p I forgot you just got spider bites :p
That sucks. But is probably sensible pre grading. Don't want to tire yourself out before an early morning exercise based test! Which belt is grading for? Just watching a travel blog of people taking bullet trains from one part of Japan to another to visit snow monkeys in hot springs. |
Yep! Emo4lyf
Yeah. It's for green tag. Cool! I'd love to go to japan |
It's finished now. Japan would be so cool my brother was meant to go in April 2020 for a delayed honeymoon (he got married on summer 2019) but Covid ruined that. Japan has just reopened but they have his sister in law living with them as a refugee from war in Ukraine (his wife is from Kyiv) she is only 19 and I don't think they want to leave her alone for a long trip
|
I think they have a studio ghibli theme park there. Or there's going to be one.
Covid messed up so much. Yeah that makes sense |
I want to go to the Pokémon cafe where they make Benton boxes that look like Pokémon. And to ride on the only sleeper bullet train left. And stay in a traditional hotel with an onsen. And in a capsule hotel. To see the temples. And mount Fuji. And eat a LOT of Ramen and sushi.
In short I would really like to go to Japan. |
All those things sound so awesome
New Zealand is still top of my list (hobbiton, glow worm caves, guinea pig village etc.) But Japan is probably second! I have a brother that lives in Thailand. But unfortunately, plane tickets are more than my rent XD |
Thailand isn't on my list mainly because I have a food intolerance to peppers, paprika and chillies and I think it would be very hard to avoid, as they seem to put chilli in nearly everything! Plane tickets be expensive for sure! How long has he been living in Thailand?
New Zealand is very high on my list too. Would love to road trip all around, and hike places. Hobbiton, glow worm caves, Milford Sound and Mount Ngauruhoe(where they filmed Mount Doom in LOTR). Oh and recently I added C1 Espresso to my list it's a cafe in Christchurch that deliver food through pneumatic tubes!! |
Fair.
He's been there since October. Think his visa is for 18 months. Ooooh that cafe sounds good! I've seen milford sound on one of those new Zealand traffic cops shows. |
There is a Tom Scott video on it which is how I found out about it https://youtu.be/YTHZLKFblKo
I would love a pneumatic tube system in my house to send messages between rooms. I just find them really cool. |
They are very cool. I don't know why they aren't used more!
|
Probably some boring reason like maintenance.
I sat her list wing to the new Death Cab for Cutie Album and not doing much else. You doing anything with your evening now you aren't going out? |
Probably
Nah. Just watching gogglebox. Also, one of my lip piercings is sinking into my lip again. It did this at the same time last night, but was completely back to normal when I woke up. Very strange. |
I never go into Gogglebox. Just not my kind of thing.
That is weird. Could it be to do with time of day and how hydrate you are? Or If it was fine this morning is there any chance your brain is misinterpreting a sensation and it's fine now? |
Fair.
I don't really understand why I like it tbh! It's watching people watch tv! Just easy to watch. There's quite a visible difference. And also a physical sensation. Like a tightness. Very odd. |
I get the easy to watch aspect. Like being in the living room with other people you don't have to properly pay attention to. A good background.
Very odd. I recommend asking a piercer, maybe they will have heard of it before. Oh and take a photo now to show them in case it's better again in the morning. May be a case of having to take it out and let it heal up but hopefully you can keep it. |
Indeed!
I can very rarely focus on a tv show/film these days. Taking a picture is a good idea! Didn't think of that. They're not open tomorrow unfortunately though. I am booked in for a piercing check on the 20th anyway. Pippin just did the biggest stretch and yawn and it is the most adorable thing I've ever seen |
I think lack of focus is pretty common these days we are all used to doing two things at once, like being on our phones and watching TV at the same time.
Definitely take a photo. Aww cute sleepy guinea pig. I bet your heart melted. |
Beckie, does it get tight at certain times, like when you've had something to drink or eat, or after you've been talking? If so could it be that it's been moving as you've moved your mouth and it's swelled up a bit?
That would explain the going down overnight? I've got myself a bit overstimulated, I've had a lot of things today. All very good things and very exciting but still. |
Yeah true.
I had to keep telling jasmine to get off her phone while she was eating yesterday! My heart did melt. They are so cute. No it doesn't seem to get tight after eating or drinking. Only when I'm just about to go to bed! Hope you managed to wind down! Morning everyone! It's my grading today. First not in class grading! So nervous! |
Morning Beckie :)
And good luck!! I'm rooting for you!!! If i had pom poms and a cheerleader outfit AND a reasonable looking body for such an outfit, i'd totally do a cheerleading dance for you. But alas, i shall spare you all for the horror!! ;) Omg, there's a legit GUINEA PIG VILLAGE in New Zealand???? That's all i need to know!!! I'm gonna go one day :D |
Thank you!
I passed!!! I was so nervous I was literally shaking. It was very formal. And we were placed into certain spots and I was directly in front of one of the examiners!!! I didn't even hear what my score was at the end because I was so flustered XD but i passed and that's what matters! There is! You should look at the videos! It's the most adorable thing! And definitely something i would do if I had land! How are you this morning? |
Morning Beckie, Morning Zurg,
Well done on passing your grading Beckie! Will you be able to find out your score from your instructor? Is there a guine pig mayor in the guinea pig village? I am imagining it's a bit like the egg bank adverts back in the day with little human houses for the guinea pigs. Obviously the guinea pigs wouldn't be forced to wear clothes though. I wound down eventually but not until almost 5am. Considering whether to go back to sleep as pretty exhausted I usually need at least 10 hours to function sometimes 12. Last night was a bit of an emotional struggle to be honest. Hence the not sleeping until far too late and my lengthy RV including a bit of a trauma dump. |
Well done Cacoethes!
|
Thank you!
Yes I could ask. Apparently we'll get feedback next class. In a herd, there is always a boss, so there will be a guinea pig mayor! And yep, they have little people houses! Sunday is the day of rest, so if you feel like you need more sleep then go for it! Take care of yourself today <3 Thanks tamo! How are you? |
I had to readjust the baby gate to my balcony (because bunny reasons) and i ****ed it up, couldn't figure out why and ended up losing my **** and screaming at the zoo while throwing my tools in all directions in a meltdown of anger and frustration. Proceeded to slam various doors until i finally managed to make myself leave the livingroom for a few minutes while downloadning the instruction manual and trying to figure out what i had done wrong.
I feel guilty :( I gave Findus a plate of his favourite treats and Said sorry to all the pets. I really need to manage my anger and frustration in a less destructive Way :( Congrats Beckie :) I hope you can do something nice to celebrate!!! Also Jen, going back to bed is okay. You don't even need a reason. When in doubt over life, bed is always okay!!! |
When i used to get angry a lot, I'd make blocks of ice and go outside and just yeet them at the ground. It helped! Probably looked a bit mental though XD
I got a pizza from papa johns. They had a deal on! Unfortunately, I now have to take one of the piggos to the vet. He's acting fine but breathing looks a bit off (confirmed with someone in one of the gp groups). And because guinea pigs hide illnesses, they can go downhill fast. And they are prone to respiratory infections. He's happily munching away atm. I will be taking both of them, so they don't get stressed without one another! I am so glad I chose a vet that's open on sundays! Otherwise I'd have to travel to the emergency vet and pay emergency prices! |
I started having temper problems when i Got weaned off antipsychotics…. Sometimes it feels like they heavily sedated me for so many years that i never discovered how bloody furious i am able to become….
Incidently, my previous psychologist suggested the same-isn thing, Beckie. Go on the balcony and smash some old and ugly planters for plants and flowers XD I Think i sometimes scare my neighbours when i start yelling and throwing things and stamping the floor… Oh noes, piggy illness :( I hope it's something easily treated. Pets should not be allowed to Fall ill. Ever!!! |
Yeah that'll do it!
Just about finding an outlet i guess He's probably completely fine! I'm just a worrier! |
I fell back asleep for a couple of hours. Not sure how I feel mentally but I do feel a little more awake.
I love the idea of a guinea pig mayor / boss. Who is the boss out of Merry and Pippin? I hope whichever poggo is ill gets better soon and it is easy and cheap to treat. Anger and frustration is hard to deal with. I am not the best at expressing it healthy either I just trap it inside and turn it on myself which isn't great either. I am sure the animals wil forget soon. Leaving where you were angry sounds a good start. Maybe next time you could leave straight away and scream into a pillow or something? |
Hi everyone.
Very well done with the grading, Beckie! I hope your fluffy is ok. Keep us updated if that's ok. I hope today becomes kinder to you, Jen. I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. How are you, Tamo? I hope you can chill out now, Kat. I think anger can be tiring although I don't know because I usually only get angry with myself. Actually, I get angry when building flat pack stuff too. |
Merry is definitely the boss!
Thanks lindsay! At vets now. Will update! |
Update: he's fine. He is breathing a bit fast but she did a full check over and his lungs, heart, throat, tummy are all clear. He now weighs 1.4kg, he is a chonker! And he's still the smaller one!
It's good for them to have extra weight though, because they lose it fast if they get ill. But i did feel it on the walk there! But yeah. All fine. They're both sleeping now. Clearly the vet trip was exhausting for them! So gonna wait to clean them out. |
Yay for healthy, wee piggy <3
It's funny how much they can differ in size. Some of my pigs were enormous and others were mostly just fluff and eyes XD Being angry is difficult. Growing up, most emotions were not okay to show in our home. Being content was okay. The rest was basically just you seeking attention :| When i hit the teenage years, something exploded inside and made me unable to surpress the anger. I had proper rage fits sometimes. I hope it counts for something that i apologise after. Even if my pets don't understand what i say… |
Indeed!
My boys love their food A LOT. Lol! I grew up in a similar household. I don't think you need to apologise for feeling angry. It's 100% ok to feel and show anger. Unless of course you end up punching someone or similar! Then an apology may be necessary! |
I'm glad your fluffy chunk is ok, Beckie. Crookshanks is a chunk too, he's 5.5kg so I always need to get a taxi to the vet and their opening hours make it hard to do that because a lot of the time it's school pick up times so the taxis are all booked.
Anger is normal and ok, I agree with Beckie. Just don't be hurting yourself or others. I also had a difficult family situation when it came to expressing emotions. *sends love to everyone* |
That's annoying!
I'm lucky I can walk. Even if my arm did hurt a lot! There is a vet in town that is closer, but it's not open on sundays. And only open until 12:30 on Saturdays. So I chose my one for situations such as today! Have you been up to much today? |
I had to get a taxi to the emergency vet when Church was dying which was nowhere near my vet and cost £50 there and £50 back for the taxi. I hope I never have to go there again.
I've changed my bedding (have you? RYL bedding day although no one seems up for joining us), put a washing on and put the dry stuff away, and cleaned the bathroom. |
Oof! That's a lot of money!
I have indeed! Clearly the bedding change day was on my mind last night because I woke up in the middle of the night, sat up and was turning the duvet around to find the buttons and undo them. I have been doing a lot of random things in a half asleep state recently. It always makes complete sense at the time but can never remember why. I just remember doing it. Undoing duvet cover, emptying hot water bottle....random |
I'm glad your piggy is okay Beckie!
Vets can be mega expensive for emergencies, I work for a 24 hour emergency practice and I hate giving people the emergency cost in the middle of the night. The vets don't see it though, I've just googled what a fully qualified GP earns, they get £60K. A vet 2 years qualified (who does surgery, and is often the sole clinician in the hospital for the inpatients too in the middle of the night, and also on call at other times) will be on about £36K. |
In other news, I am redying my hair pinky purple.
How is everyone? |
That doesn't seem fair!
I imagine it's harder to be a vet. Because they see so many different species and their patients generally can't tell them what's wrong! Oooh sounds cool! I'm ok. Suddenly exhausted! |
I am feeling rotten.
My family and friends were surprised but pleased when I expressed anger in hospital! |
Sorry to hear that!
I used to get super angry all the time and lash out. I've mellowed a bit in my old age! Plenty of thoughts of yeeting people out of windows, very little chance of me actually doing it now. |
Morning everyone
Very grey and windy out there today |
Morning Beckie :)
The weather today suggest that we should just stay inside and nap all day!!! :D How are you this morning? |
All times are GMT +1. The time now is 04:41 PM. |
