Cacoethes 18-02-2018 09:28 PM

It is so early :'(

Aubergine 18-02-2018 09:30 PM

Cacoethes 18-02-2018 09:38 PM

Pomegranate 18-02-2018 10:16 PM

Home! Boo for early starts! I’m not at work until next weekend :-)

chinahorse 18-02-2018 10:29 PM

How was Windsor? Wowee! What're you going to do with your week?

Pomegranate 18-02-2018 10:36 PM

Not a lot probably lol. Don’t get paid until Thursday :-( windsor was ok except my mum complained about her food...twice and asked to speak to the manager. I’m so bad at complaining lol I hate it!

chinahorse 18-02-2018 10:57 PM

That sucks. Nothing free to do in your local area?

Oh no! Did it warrant it?

Pomegranate 18-02-2018 11:17 PM

Kind of warranted. I just hate complaining lol

Pomegranate 18-02-2018 11:17 PM

I might go round the castle one day this week. Or get train to London for some museums.

Aubergine 18-02-2018 11:22 PM

Heya!

Went to bed before deciding I really should study more. My friend introduced me to this: http://writtenkitten.c A picture of a kitten every 100 words... :D

How's it going?

Pomegranate 18-02-2018 11:23 PM

Haha! That’s very cool!

Aubergine 18-02-2018 11:28 PM

:D

Watching TV now! There's some good stuff on the BBC at the moment. Lots to watch from when I could not focus very well. :)

Going to the castle sounds good, Emma! As does going to London. :) Which is your favourite museum?

Pomegranate 18-02-2018 11:33 PM

That sounds good :-). What are you catching up on?

Hmmm I don’t really have one. I actually prefer visiting churches to the museums although I do like Imperial War and Natural History museums

Aubergine 18-02-2018 11:35 PM

Eep! My best friend is coming up from Brighton! We've both had a **** time of it, her much more than me (her Dad died), so she wants to get away for a couple of days. It's her birthday that week too. Celebrations!

Oh the war museum is great! Military history is so interesting. Love visiting churches. :) I hope you manage to go. You up to much?

Pomegranate 18-02-2018 11:53 PM

Awwwww, love Brighton! When’s she coming up?

Not up to much, just talking to my friend about holidays this year and watching CSI.

Aubergine 19-02-2018 12:01 AM

Are you going anywhere? Good to get away. :)

She's coming up the week commencing 5th march. :) Not sure of the exact days. I'd already booked the week off, so it's flexible. I'm off to halifax on the 9th for the weekend. Need to book train stuff, actually. Got a while.

Pomegranate 19-02-2018 12:37 AM

Don’t know yet. Could potentially afford it...or at least find some money for two or three days. I just feel like I need to get away. Looking at Tel Aviv.

That will be nice. Lots of peopling though. Will you do anything special or just spend time together?

Aubergine 19-02-2018 01:09 AM

Tel Aviv sounds good. Interesting. I've got lots of friends who have been to Israel. :) I hope you get to go somewhere. Would definitely be good for you to get away. Would you go alone or with your friend?

Yes, lots of peopling. My friend is staying in a B&B about 8 miles away, as we both need lots of alone time. We won't do anything special, just spend time together. Where she's staying there's a lovely walk, so will probably do that and maybe she'll come here and I'll cook for dinner or something. :)

My friends in Halifax are amazing and will let me go sit in my room when I'm there if I need space. They are the funniest friends ever. I don't think I've ever laughed as much as I do when I'm with them. We play lots of games and they've got an amazing dog that's very clever and fun to play with/walk. I sometimes take the dog out on my own to get a bit of Aubergine time. We'll probably go to my friend's sister's house too. She's got an amazing three year old. :) Going camping with them in July/August to a big Christian festival. :) It's drained the bank balance a bit this month, but I've really needed things to look forward to, you know? :)

Pomegranate 19-02-2018 01:14 AM

Yeah I get the needing things to look forward to. And we only live once after all!

I need to go away alone. That might sound weird but I need proper alone time away from everyone and everything and to adventure and soak up the energy of historical places. I go away with my friends to Christmas markets and I’m going with other friends to Canada and Seattle (and meeting an old school RYLer whilst there) in April, but I need some time now kind of thing

Pomegranate 19-02-2018 01:14 AM

What kind of thing do you do at a Christian festival? It’s nice your friends understand your need for you time

Aubergine 19-02-2018 01:29 AM

I don't think that it sounds weird at all. Adventuring alone is a great thing and I think it's a brilliant plan. Stay safe though, especially if you go to Israel/somewhere else where there are difficulties. :)

Sounds like you've got some lovely things planned with friends. :) My Dad went to Canada a couple of years ago and loved it. Have you been before?

I like adventuring on my own, but only in the UK. I need to know that I can get home the same day relatively easily if I want/need to. The thought of needing to fly etc to get back into my bedroom is too scary! I'm in awe of your ability to travel abroad. I think you're very brave. :)

Well, there are two main meetings, morning and evening. Most people going go to both and there is worship and teaching and prayer ministry. There are three seminars sessions a day - a few at the same time as each other - and you can choose which ones to go to. To be honest, I don't usually go to any. The main meetings are enough for me, same with my friends, so we sleep or play card games and get food. There are also funny activities to take part in/watch, like zorb football and sumo wrestling in those big sumo suits! There's usually a big community activity on two of the days. Like a hog roast of BBQ or outdoor concert. There are also outdoor films on a massive screen every night, that you go to in your cars (I get the train up, but my friends drive. :))

Pomegranate 19-02-2018 01:38 AM

That sounds really nice but pretty intense!

It’s weird, it’s about 50:50. Sometimes I can’t even shower or get in my car to go places. Othertimes being abroad and adventuring doesn’t phase me at all. I just need down time.

Looking forward to Canada except my friend has booked for us to share a room and I’ll find that really difficult. 10 days of no alone time is my idea of hell so looking at booking the odd night for my own room just for the sake of my sanity. People don’t seem to get my need for alone time!

Aubergine 19-02-2018 01:46 AM

I guess it's the nature of things. Same with me, really. I can be professional and competant at work, keep on top of housework, be sociable etc sometimes. Other times I don't leave my bedroom except for the bathroom for days/weeks. I was really sociable yesterday, saw people all day. Today I've not uttered a word out loud and had lot of sleep/study. My uncle invited me for coffee but I just could not do it!

10 days of no alone time does sound really, really difficult. Booking your own room for the odd night sounds like a really good idea. I hope you're able to do that, as it sounds like it would be a really positive thing for you. :)

It is pretty intense. I have my own four man tent, so can and do shut myself in there for a bit every day. We also sometimes leave the campsite on a couple of the days to eat at a restaurant or go to Tesco to stock up on supplies. It's good because Christians can be quite, um, in your face? I don't know. I am one, and it's even hard for me to cope with sometimes! It's good to break away from the Holy Spirit bubble and get into the secular world. :P

chinahorse 19-02-2018 09:49 AM

Good morning guys :)

Aubergine 19-02-2018 11:05 AM

Morning Lillie! How are you?

chinahorse 19-02-2018 11:07 AM

Nervous and excited. I'm having my toes sorted after a whole year of trouble!

Aubergine 19-02-2018 11:16 AM

Oh excellent! I hope it goes well. :)

I've been qualified as a dispenser for three years today, so Facebook tells me. Don't know where the time has gone.

chinahorse 19-02-2018 11:19 AM

I've had 3 false starts so I won't believe till its done lol.

Oooo get you! And time is weird. Takes forever day to day but the years whizz by!

I need to shower but I'm waiting for the heating to warm it up a bit first.

Aubergine 19-02-2018 11:23 AM

Oh! Well, I hope that it gets done today and that it makes you feel much better! :)

Time really is weird. And itt definitely speeds up as you get older. If it goes this fast at 30, can't imagine how fast it'll go when I'm 60 or something!

Waiting for the heating is a good idea! I also need a shower. Have an ancient heater thing in my bathroom - will pop it on in a bi.

chinahorse 19-02-2018 11:27 AM

Thanks. I may be inconsolable if it doesn't. :/

Ack I know. I'm 27 next month. I was like 21 half a year ago I swear :-P

Do you not have radiators?! I have a boiler that's worth more than most small cars and a heating control it tok two of us 2 nights and a manual to work! It's like the starship enterprise.

Aubergine 19-02-2018 11:36 AM

If that happens, we'll be here. <3

Haha, yup! I know that feeling. I quite like being 30 though. Makes me feel l like I'm a proper adult! (Even though I'm really not sometimes. :P)

Nope. Don't have central heating. I have wall mounted panel heaters, that are electric and ridiculously expensive. I have an immersion heater, so no instant hot water. I try and remember to put it on for an hour a day, so I have hot water, but I usually forget. :P Thankfully the shower is electric. It's annoying, but I still love my flat. :)

Eska 19-02-2018 11:56 AM

Morning people :)

Good luck with the toes, Lillie! I hope it all goes really smoothly for you.

I'm glad you love your flat, Aubergine :)

Aubergine 19-02-2018 12:02 PM

Hey Eska! How's it going?

Thanks. :) <3 I can't imagine living anywhere else, really. Maybe one day, but I'm so settled here. :)

Eska 19-02-2018 12:10 PM

I'm ok. I was going to go to the gym before work this morning (I start at 12) but ended up sleeping instead... so I'm going to go afterwards instead. On the plus side, I feel a bit less drained now :)

It's wonderful having a place where you feel settled and secure, I'm so glad for you. It took me a little while to feel that way in my current house but I'm there now. I have lovely housemates, too.

chinahorse 19-02-2018 12:39 PM

Glad you like it aubergine and eska. :)

Eesh! The gym is way too much like exercise :-P

Cacoethes 19-02-2018 12:41 PM

Hey peepz
Sorry I don't have the brain power to catch up on the thread
Hope youre all having a good day!

Eska 19-02-2018 12:45 PM

Lillie, this is true... I'm told it's good for me, though, so I suppose I had to go for it :P

I hope you are having a good day too, Beckie!

Cacoethes 19-02-2018 12:48 PM

The gym is definitely good!
The only one near me is extortionate so can't afford it
Because I'd totally go if I could afford it..... :ermm:

Thank you!

Sketchy 19-02-2018 01:20 PM
