Aubergine 21-01-2018 05:37 PM

My Mum gave me her old wardrobe and drawers. They're solid pine and lovely! There's nothing wrong with them; they just wanted oak furniture instead. I'm hoping one day they'll get rid of those too and pass them my way... ;) My TV my uncle gave me It's an old style smart TV, but I've got an Amazon Fire Stick shoved into it, so it's great. Not super HD or anything, but I only really watch a few things on it - mainly listen to Spotify through it, so the picture quality is no issue. My washing machine my Nan bought me because my old one kept flooding my kitchen (that was my Great Gran's before she went into residential care) and everything else is second (or third or fourth) hand. My hammock is new though. Well, new when I move in here. I treated myself! It was my moving in present to me. :D

Hehe. Clothes mountain! However do you find stuff?!

Yum! Chicken casserole!

Hammock time!

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 05:42 PM

I havent checked that out Lillie!
Thats a good idea.

Same as me pretty much Aubergine!
The majority of what I have was given to me.

Hammocks are cool!

I just have to dig through the pile!
When I sort it out, i always find clothes that I've forgotten I even had!!

Aubergine 21-01-2018 05:48 PM

Hehe! I can imagine you diving into a mountain of clothes. :P

Sketchy 21-01-2018 05:49 PM

I’m jealous of your hammock. You sound like you are comfy.

chinahorse 21-01-2018 05:53 PM

haha beckie that is a great image and like having something new every time you go looking :P

I too am jealous of the hammock. It sounds amazing! What have you mounted it from or is it one that has its own stand?

There are no job to apply to. All the ones I wanted to on closer inspection are unsuitable or 10 miles away from where they are advertised to be!

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 06:01 PM

Why is it so hard to find stuff about the Psychological approach!?!
Im so confused!

chinahorse 21-01-2018 06:03 PM

What specifically are you trying to find and where are you looking?

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 06:05 PM

Just anything about the Psychological approach.
Theres so many sites saying there are different types of psychological approach but I don't remember learning about them and there are also different sites saying different things!!!
Im just looknng online.
I should go to the library for a book probably...

chinahorse 21-01-2018 06:06 PM

Do you have a course textbook that can guide what path to go down?

I have this rocking chair, but the cushion is blue.

chinahorse 21-01-2018 06:07 PM

Or if you're looking at scientific papers, try a review.

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 06:08 PM

Nope.
I'll go to the library tomorrow!
Given up with it tonight.
But I have Tuesday off for a psych appt and still got wednesday free and friday (due date)
And the evenings after college.
So i should be ok!!

It's like this one! The stand, I mean. :) The hammock thing and the seat came separately, but I think you can get them together. :)

What are you looking for, Beckie?

What jobs are you looking for, Lillie? If there's anything you're interested in, you could just chuck out a CV and covering letter to everywhere local that do it?

Aubergine 21-01-2018 06:09 PM

Rocking chair looks really cosy, Lorraine!

chinahorse 21-01-2018 06:11 PM

Oh Ive seen them before aubergine- they look amazing.

I am just sort of going for anything rn, I was being a bit more selective and applying for managerial positions but I've heard nothing back :( I would like to get into healthcare management stuff but its damn near impossible or they want stupid things like an NVQ in typing. Which I dont have but have an average of like 50 wpm typing speed so it wont be an issue.

Sketchy 21-01-2018 06:11 PM

It’s so comfy. I can’t wait to get the foot stool to match it. I’ll go to ikea with my sister in a couple of weeks. She wants to get a few things for her flat too.

nonperson 21-01-2018 06:12 PM

I have returned. And survived the ordeal of Asda.

Doesn't a hammock hanging from a single point kinda just make you all squished up?

chinahorse 21-01-2018 06:12 PM

OOOO I agree Lorraine! Looks nice and comfy :)

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 06:13 PM

Ive given up looking for tonight!
I'll ask the guys at college where they got their info from.

It is hard to find jobs. Especially when you don't drive!
(I don't think you drive Lillie?)

I want a hammock now!
Although knowing me I'd get stuck in it

Well done for surviving nonperson!

Sketchy 21-01-2018 06:13 PM

It is Lillie.

Glad you survived Asda Nonperson. Do you have snow where you are?

nonperson 21-01-2018 06:14 PM

No snow, just lots of rain!

Had a bit of snow this morning but it's all gone now.

Sketchy 21-01-2018 06:16 PM

Rain sucks.

It’s thick with snow here, but I like it.

chinahorse 21-01-2018 06:17 PM

Lol beckie, pretty sure I'd fall out of it myself :-P

Glad it went ok Person.

I can't drive no beckie but I live in the major capital city of my county so you think finding something to apply to or that I want to do wouldnt be too much of an issue.

Aubergine 21-01-2018 06:20 PM

Well done for surviving, Person!

Nope, not all squished up. It has a wooden bar thing that the two sides of the hammock hang from, if that makes sense? So it separates it.

I've looked on the OU library, Beckie. Have you been searching for psychological approaches to particular illnesses? Because that seemes to bring up better results than a general search for the psychological approach to general mental illness.

Aubergine 21-01-2018 06:22 PM

I fell our of it once. Sit in it cross legged a lot, and I got my foot caught and flew across the room with a slice of chocolate cake on a plate in my hand. Saved the cake, smooshed my nose. :'(

Sketchy 21-01-2018 06:25 PM

I applaud you Aubergine for saving your cake. It’s good to prioritise!

Aubergine 21-01-2018 06:27 PM

Well, you know... :P :D

I just submitted my personal development plan TMA00 thing. Haven't tidied my room yet, but that's productive, right?

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 06:32 PM

Thats weird that you can't find anything then Lillie!

I didn't think about using the OU library, i can still access it.
And well done for saving the cake!
You clearly have your priorities right!

Id say that is productive!

Sketchy 21-01-2018 06:36 PM

That’s productive.

I was going to sew myself an apron, but I need to buy thick ribbon for the straps. I think I’ll just make another bag. I might go into town for supplies tomorrow.

nonperson 21-01-2018 06:39 PM

Watching Aladdin on Channel 4. =)

Should really be doing a mountain of washing up.

Sketchy 21-01-2018 06:39 PM

Enjoy Aladdin. The washing can wait.

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 06:43 PM

Sounds good lorraine!

I had to choose between Aladdin and Lord of the rings!
I chose lotr. I have Aladdin on DVD.

I need to put away some washing.
I'll do it next time I go upstairs.

nonperson 21-01-2018 06:44 PM

I quite agree. =)

Aladdin is one of my favourite Disney films.

Aubergine 21-01-2018 06:46 PM

Making a bad sounds good, Lorraine. :)

I also have washing up to do. Oops. Would have to wait for a hour for the water tank to heat up to do that anyway, as boiling the kettle five times is a lot of effort. :P

I watched Aladdin at the pantomime this year. :)

Sketchy 21-01-2018 06:47 PM

I like a pantomime. Was it good?

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 06:48 PM

Aladdin is my fav and always has been!
Its why I called my daughter Jasmine!

I haven't been to a panto in years!
They are so much fun!

Aubergine 21-01-2018 06:49 PM

It was amazing! Best pantomime I've been to and I've been to see one most years since my cousins have been 3 or so.

That's awesome. =D

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 07:02 PM

I'll have to make the effort to go to a panto this year!

Jasmine actually asked why I named her Jasmine yesterday!
She said she didn't like it and wants to be called Annabelle (her best friends name)
:eyeroll:

Aubergine 21-01-2018 07:03 PM

Yes! Go! It's fun. :)

Aww hehe. Children are funny.

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 07:08 PM

I tried to change my name to Mildred in year 2 because I was obsessed with The Worst Witch

Aubergine 21-01-2018 07:21 PM

Hehe! I used to love that programme!

My Nan used to call me Tessa. :) My cousin picked up on it and still calls me Tessy Bear. I prefer it to my real name. :P

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 07:25 PM

Tessa is a cute name!

Sketchy 21-01-2018 07:27 PM

Tessy bear is cute.

Right, no more procrastinating. I’m getting my sewing out.

Sketchy 21-01-2018 07:28 PM

My mum used to call me Lainey. My sister sometimes calls me it and I got called it in an old job.

Aubergine 21-01-2018 07:29 PM

Enjoy sewing, Lorraine! Post some pictures if you can. I love seeing your creations. :)

Sketchy 21-01-2018 07:38 PM

I will do. Thanks.

Cacoethes 21-01-2018 07:43 PM

I don't really have a nickname!
My family and some friends call me becca or bex

This is the greatest thing I have ever read! Mildred is a kind of strange name though.
