What are you up to this evening?
|
Watching casualty on BBC I-Player right now, then decide what to have for dinner, a glass or 2 of cider afterwards, then watch a short film on a site called Viddsee.
|
Cider sounds a nice treat. Enjoy casualty. It was a good episode last week.
|
Sounds good cpt!!
Im watching operation ouch on CBBC. Its quite interesting! |
Sounds interesting Beckie.
|
I'm waiting for my friend to get home to have dinner. In the meantime I'm watching House.
|
House is great!
|
Is that the program with Hugh Laurie?
|
I used to love House!
I went for a walk to the shop in the rain. Then I put the bins out. I bought myself some £3 flowers at the shop and put them in a vase on my table. They look very pretty. |
I would've forgotten to have put the bins out if I hadn't read what you just wrote.
|
Yep thats the one cpt
Sounds good aubergine! Its alwyas nice to get flowers! I also need to put the bin out! |
Yay for nice flowers. I hope you didn't get soaked in the rain.
I can't be bothered going to Tesco now. I'll go tomorrow. Having an indoors day. |
I've got 6 green bins to take out, tried to organise a rota with housemates - didn't work - it's ok, I get up about 5am, do it first thing, doesn't take long.
|
That's a lot of bins. 5am is an early start. I doubt I could do that.
|
6 bins? That is a lot of bins! I put mine out and the neighbours, so that's 4 bins. I do it the evening before the collection or I'd never get up and do it. Collection is on a work day when I'm at work, so it's not too bad then as I'm up anyway.
|
problem mostly is that's it's a big house, 13 bedrooms, so people tend to come & go, already on 4th occupant of the room next to me, so difficult to organise a rota.
Which is good, because small houses where people are sharing the same toilet/bathroom area, a small lounge/kitchen area can cause tension. I wouldn't like to live in a house with just 4/5 people. There's 3 bathroom/toilet areas, plus a small shower room, so I take my pick in the morning. I don't mind getting up at 5am, when I come home, after watching something & having dinner, I get a bit bored, tend to mostly go to bed at 10pm. |
I live in a flat, so I don't have to take bins to the front, but it does mean taking bin liners of rubbish down two flights of stairs.
|
That sounds a massive house cpt. I couldn't imagine living with that many people. I live alone.
|
should try not to have 4 cups of tea in the morning
|
That's a lot of tea. Does it help you with your early start?
|
Ive lived in simialr size places cpt.
There were staff there though so they took care of the bins! I only have one bin luckily! 5am is very early! |
We have a cleaner who comes in, cleans all the communal areas, hoovers the carpets, makes the house look spotless, all we have to do is wash our own dishes, take out the bins & bring them back.
|
Sounds like a good setup!
I need to clean my house...ugh! |
I live alone too. I've lived in shared places before, but never coped very well. I tidied a bit this afternoon. Put the carpet sweeper round, did the washing up, put the bin bag in the outside bin, folded up my blankets. I'm going to change my bed in a bit. Feeling a bit tearful. Hopefully fresh sheets will help.
|
I'm sorry you are feeling tearful. *hugs*
Fresh bed sheets are always great. Why not go for a bubble bath before it. There is nothing better than feeling all clean and wearing clean pjs and jumping into a bed with fresh bed sheets. |
That does sound a like place cpt!
I'm just glad I feel cleaned out of my fridge before things started growing in there :P And I finally had my tomato soup <3 |
Yay. Tomato soup! Did you have bread to dunk in it?
|
Sorry you're not feeling great aubergine.
Hope you feel better soon. Fresh sheets are always good! Yay tomato soup! |
Mmm tomato soup.
I've never lived on my own, I don't think I would handle it well. As of today I live with two of my friends, but there are quite often other people coming and going. |
Ive lived on my own for about 5 years now.
It was really hard at first but now I don't think I'd be able to cope living with other people now! |
I hope you soon settle in Eska. Did the move go well?
|
I've lived on my own for ten years, so I'm too used to it now.
|
It did, thank you :) I'm mostly all unpacked and sorted.
|
Glad the move went well! :)
|
Excellent. I hope you can relax now, because it's exhausting moving home.
|
There are pros & cons to living by yourself or with other people, I did have a couple of people who were annoying, bothered me a lot for money & other things, but they've moved out, everyone seems friendly now, mostly keep themselves to themselves, don't cause chaos, listen to the list of rules that we get given moving into the house.
One girl who moved in 2 years had this huge removal van hired & men moving a whole load of junk into her room that I doubt many people need - I am a believer in only keeping things you really need - I even got rid of my school books, she even had a piano! she even had a bookcase full of books, but didn't read, mostly just smoked weed & watched TV. Within an hour of arriving she asked to borrow £20 which I did, she was coming into my room at 1pm in the morning, shaking me awake, asking me for money, I locked my door in the end, I got hear her knocking on my door, trying to open it, she got upset that I locked my door on her. Unfortunately, if you suffer from anxiety - like I do - it can be a difficult thing to cope with, like I upset her, so is she going to spread rumours about me, am I going to be in trouble. But also, living by yourself can be difficult too. There are nice people around, people I live with now are OK, say hello, ask me about how I am, do you want to have a pint this evening, I wouldn't get that living in a flat by myself. |
Yeah it really does depend on who you live with.
I lived with quite a few violent people which wasn't good and I witnessed lots of distressing fights and was attacked once. and most people were on drugs!! |
Hope you feel better soon Aubergine
Well done Eska :) That girl sounds a nightmare to live with Cpt no wonder she was hard to cope with! I find it easier living alone now I have my dog. I don't think I could live in any sort of group home although I have done before. I've lived completely alone for about 2 years, in various different forms of accomodation for about 6/7 years. |
That's a good point cpt. It does sometimes get lonely, but I think I do prefer it.
That girl sounds a nightmare. I bet you're glad she moved out. |
Very much I agree who you live with the fact it makes a big difference who you live with.
|
I've lived with some great people as well.
Made lifelong friends in one of the places! This place was in a very posh area though and the violent ones were in crap areas. Shouldn't really make a difference but it did! |
It can depend where you live too, I live in a city, most cities have problems, but I found a place to live that's quiet, well away from the city busy pubs & nightclubs & areas that are a bit 'dodgy'. There's a big police station up the road & I often see police cars with sirens on going into the city centre, & there's a big police station in the city centre, but I've never seen police cars with sirens on coming away from the city centre.
|
That's good!
There's nothing on tv tonight! |
I don't have a TV, watch stuff on BBC I-Player. You can watch everything that's been on BBC over the last week.
|
Tv is rubbish. I'm deciding what to watch on Netflix, as per usual. I'm very indecisive. Maybe I should write or draw.
|
BBC iplayer is great!
Im just half watching random things. Need to get an early night. Have to get up at 6:30am D: |
That's an early start. I guess you'll be going to your bed early tonight.
Are you enjoying college? |
Yep hopefully!
College is ok. We're just doing study skills this week and next week so its a bit tedious and a lot to take in but I'm making friends and getting used to it all so I'm excited to start properly! |
These things are always slow in starting before you get right into it. It's good you are making friends. Will you be sent on any placements with this course?
|
No placements. Although you can organise work experience if you want.
I might try and do one, depending on how much work I have! |
