chinahorse 15-07-2017 05:41 PM

Hallo all just woken up from a nice nap

Cacoethes 15-07-2017 05:41 PM

Hi Lillie!

chinahorse 15-07-2017 05:47 PM

What's everyone having for tea then? It's nearly an acceptable time for that.

not_so_insig 15-07-2017 05:50 PM

I had salad sandwich followed by strawberries and ice cream.

Sketchy 15-07-2017 05:57 PM

I like torchwood. I'm curious as to who the new doctor is. Is it today we find out?

I had an early dinner because I forgot about lunch. I had a salad with quorn fillet.

Cacoethes 15-07-2017 06:05 PM

I've just had pasta.
Nothing exciting!

Im not sure when we find out. It'll probably be all over facebook though so im sure i wont miss it!

chinahorse 15-07-2017 06:10 PM

Everyone's meals sound lovely.

Cacoethes 15-07-2017 06:14 PM

It was quite nice.
I am very full now. Pasta always fills me up!

What are you having Lillie?

Shy_Bambi 15-07-2017 06:14 PM

I won't be eating my dinner until 9 when Casualty is on, I'm so hungry!! But I'm trying to eat healthy so I can't snack!

I had some Cocopops for breakfast. Not *healthy* but better than...say....a jam doughnut!

Sketchy 15-07-2017 06:17 PM

I'm trying to eat healthy too. I've got fruit to snack on, but cocopops sounds yummy.

Cacoethes 15-07-2017 06:18 PM

What are you going to have?

Ahh i miss coco pops! And doughnuts actually! Lol

Sketchy 15-07-2017 06:20 PM

I don't like jam doughnuts. I would love some cake though. Lemon cake. But instead I have peaches and grapes.

Shy_Bambi 15-07-2017 06:23 PM

Chocolate filled doughnuts are lush!! I think they're my fave! But I do like a good jam one!!
I think I'll have some Quorn nuggets with Peas and Sweetcorn! Yum!

Sketchy 15-07-2017 06:24 PM

I love quorn nuggets. I might buy them tomorrow.

Buttons. 15-07-2017 06:25 PM

Jam doughnuts for the win.

Cacoethes 15-07-2017 06:33 PM

My fav doughnuts are the iced ring doughnuts.
And i love the custard filled ones too.
And jam. And chocolate.
Basically all doughnuts.

Iced ring ones are lush!!!

Tesco sometimes does four for a pound.

Cacoethes 15-07-2017 06:49 PM

In morrisons you used to be able to get 12 for £2.
Not sure if they still do, its been years since i was in a morrisons!

Buttons. 15-07-2017 06:53 PM

I know right...I haven't seen a Morrisons in ages....

Cacoethes 15-07-2017 06:55 PM

There used to be a small morrisons in town. It then changed to a 'my local' and then closed down in under a year for some reason!
It was always busy in there so really not sure why it changed hands then closed down!
I don't even know where my closest morrisons is.

Buttons. 15-07-2017 06:57 PM

Aldi, Tesco and Asda are all my friends :P

Cacoethes 15-07-2017 06:59 PM

Ive been meaning to go into aldi since i moved here 3 years ago :p
Tesco and asda is where its at!
Shame that tesco increased the minimum delivery price. I used to get deliveries from them but its too expensive now!

Buttons. 15-07-2017 07:02 PM

Aldi is my lifeline! Yeah I've not properly looked into delivery yet.

Sketchy 15-07-2017 07:07 PM

We have two Morrisons in the area, an Asda, two Tesco and Sainsbury's and a coop, as well as lots of independent little shops.

Cacoethes 15-07-2017 07:08 PM

I think the minimum spend is like £40?
Like i am just one person, i don't need £40 worth of food at a time.
It would be fine if it was just tins and stuff but i used to get fresh meat and veg and I'm just not going to eat it all before it goes bad!

Yeah one person shopping can be a pain with fresh stuff! I end wasting so much and it bugs me!! Like there has to be more single people in the world who need smaller portions of stuff!

Shy_Bambi 15-07-2017 07:19 PM

Thats the same for me and my mum too with fresh stuff. It just goes off too quickly!! I mostly get the lettuce for my snails but they don't eat much so almost the whole thing goes in the bin because we won't eat just lettuce and getting too much salad stuff is a pain. Our fridge is very small!

Buttons. 15-07-2017 07:35 PM

You know believe it or not you can make a really nice lettuce soup if you were ever bored and wanted to use it up and try it.

Cacoethes 15-07-2017 07:41 PM

There totally should be more single person stuff!
Well, smaller portions in general!
I dont know why its not a thing!

We should start a 'single person healthy food chain'!

Cacoethes 15-07-2017 07:46 PM

We totally should!

I keep meaning to buy stuff to cook meals and freeze them for later.
But I am not that organised! :p

Buttons. 15-07-2017 07:49 PM

I'm not that organised either lol. My mum and gran (who is 88) are though, puts me to shame!

Cacoethes 15-07-2017 07:52 PM

My mum has nothing to freeze after feeding 6 people :p
My nanny lives alone but somehow cooks everything from scratch?!
But she does drive though so I guess its easier for her to do a shop.

Same no idea how she manages, though mum does help her shopping

Cacoethes 15-07-2017 07:57 PM

Must be an old person thing!
I do like to cook from scratch but its so much washing up and stuff!

 Lettuce soup?? Whats in that? Lettuce and water or something?

not_so_insig 15-07-2017 07:58 PM

I find it easier to do a £40 shop from tesco. But then again I only do it once a fortnight. I have lots of diet lemonade though because I don't like water or squash. I have lots of cat food to add to it which I suppose adds to it. I usually spend about £100 a fortnight.

Cacoethes 15-07-2017 08:01 PM

I'm generally ok with the shops that i do.
It has been helpful having my carer drive me to asda though because i drink a lot of diet coke!
I don't like water either.

Buttons. 15-07-2017 08:05 PM

Lettuce (obviously :P), butter, onion, garlic, vegetable stock and a bit of parsely if I remember correctly. Maybe pinch of salt.

Buttons. 15-07-2017 08:06 PM

And Beckie I find that helpful too, as I drink a lot of (unfortuantely full fat) coke!

Cacoethes 15-07-2017 08:06 PM

That sounds rather nice!

I find full fat coke too syrupy these days!

Shy_Bambi 15-07-2017 08:09 PM

Oh that sounds...different xD I may give that a go though, save the whole lot going in the bin

I'm all about Pepsi max, I don't like Coke! If I don't have any Pepsi max during the day I get kinda ratty. I think I have a problem :P

not_so_insig 15-07-2017 08:10 PM

I also have filtered milk because it lasts longer. I can't even get through a pint of milk on my own and when I bought regular milk I was chucking the majority of it away.

Buttons. 15-07-2017 08:15 PM

Don't knock it til you try it :P

I'm not keen on Pepsi max tbh.

I like coke zero okay, better than diet anyhow.

Cacoethes 15-07-2017 08:17 PM

I am not a fan of pepsi max but will drink it is there's no other choice.
I have a legit diet coke addiction!!
I do prefer coke zero to diet though!

I use quite a bit of milk.
I take my meds with a glass of milk becuase i hate water and I drink a fair amount of tea and coffee!

not_so_insig 15-07-2017 08:28 PM

I don't drink much coffee and zero tea. I have a tassimo machine which uses pods so I don't need milk. I don't like cereal.

Shy_Bambi 15-07-2017 08:33 PM

I never drink milk because it triggers auras and I've had a seizure after drinking some when I was little so I'm kinda scared of milk now xD

I drink Alpro now.

Cacoethes 15-07-2017 08:36 PM

Thats an odd trigger rebecca!
Ive been known to have seizures after not drinking enough caffeine which is a bit odd.

chinahorse 15-07-2017 08:37 PM

I can get through a pint of milk purely for tea in 2 days.
