I can confirm no giraffes were involved in making or harmed to make my coffee Yirgacheffe is just the name of the variety of coffee bean. Maybe some giraffes like it though.

Elephant dung coffee is a thing it's essentially coffee made from beans pooped out by an elephant who ate the coffee cherries. I have not tried this as it feels a step too far for me. It's meant to be really good is and is the most expensive coffee in the world but I can't get past the poop aspect! https://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt...elephants-no-2

In fact the company I buy coffee from is called Brown Bear Coffee and donates 5% of every sale to the save the bears charity. So tasty coffee and helping animals. I found them online, tried one variety and liked it and have been experimenting with different varieties they sell since. The Ethiopian and Columbian coffees are my favourite that I now get every time.

one_step_closer 30-06-2023 01:36 PM

You able to stay in today, Dawn?

I don't really mind being out in the rain though.

I hope you don't get soaked if it starts to rain heavier, NP.

Coffee is disgusting enough without poo.

Cacoethes 30-06-2023 01:50 PM

I thought the most expensive coffee was made from dung from another animal?
I read about it somewhere! I shall google!

My neck feels very hard to hold up and kinda sore. This is uncomfortable!

Cacoethes 30-06-2023 01:51 PM

Why Kopi Luwak coffee is so expensive?
The high price of kopi luwak coffee is largely due to the traditional ways it is produced. Production takes a lot of time and energy, with farmers often looking on land and in forests for suitable beans. Ripe coffee berries are ingested by Asian palm civets, which are found in Southeast Asia.

Yep, this is what i was thinking of

long road 30-06-2023 02:04 PM

Yeah apparently the man who founded the elephant dung coffee company did it because of the concerns about civets been force-fed coffee beans and nothing but coffee beans, which was bad for the civets health wise and generally cruel.
Elephants can make lots of coffe while still eating plenty of grass and other stuff and he worked with an elephant charity to check coffee cherries aren't harmful to elephants. And also civets are omnivores while elephants are herbivores so they change the taste in a different way,??

Kopi Luwak coffee was the first expensive poo coffe though!

one_step_closer 30-06-2023 02:05 PM

What have you been doing with your neck? Can you rest it leaning back on something?

not_so_insig 30-06-2023 02:05 PM

Yes I am staying indoors today Lindsay.

one_step_closer 30-06-2023 02:06 PM

Poor civets :( I don't even know what they are. Never heard of them.

one_step_closer 30-06-2023 02:06 PM

Good plan, Dawn. I'm in for the rest of the day too. What are you getting up to?

not_so_insig 30-06-2023 02:12 PM

Nothing much Lindsay. I am going to hoover the communal area outside my flat but other than that watching TV is pretty much my only plans. Also try and read more of my book.

tamobhuuta 30-06-2023 02:13 PM

Poo coffee doesn't appeal...

I've been to the library and superdrug, now I need to go pick up meds.

Cacoethes 30-06-2023 02:23 PM

Ah, did not know that jen!
I'm glad someone took action on that!

Not sure lindsay!
Just feels really weak and sore.
Maybe it's my horrendous posture? Lol

tamobhuuta 30-06-2023 03:01 PM

Maybe you slept funny?

long road 30-06-2023 03:42 PM

I just had a nap. Much needed.

one_step_closer 30-06-2023 03:43 PM

I hope you find good things to watch and enjoy your book, Dawn.

Did you get a new book at the library, Tamo?

I think it's just that your brain has grown with extra facts and intelligence recently so your neck is trying to get used to holding up the new weight, Beckie.

Glad you had a good nap, Jen. What are you going to do now?

tamobhuuta 30-06-2023 04:02 PM

No, I just returned my last one. I don't know how long it's going to take me to read so I bought it from Waterstones so there's no rush.

long road 30-06-2023 04:29 PM

I haven't really decided what to do now. Just listening to some music at the moment. Guess I might watch some TV. Taking it gentle now as I have roleplaying at 7:30pm

tamobhuuta 30-06-2023 04:36 PM

Good idea LR

Cacoethes 30-06-2023 04:36 PM

Breaking news guys
I had a nap!
This never happens!

long road 30-06-2023 04:40 PM

Wow! I am so happy for you Beckie! Naps are awesome!

tamobhuuta 30-06-2023 04:49 PM

Was it a good nap?

Cacoethes 30-06-2023 05:12 PM

Thanks jen!

Yes it was thanks tamo!

I certainly needed it.
I had the weirdest dream ever though.
I also found out my watch has recorded it as '2nd sleep' which is clever!
It was only about an hours nap, but i feel a lot better!

one_step_closer 30-06-2023 05:59 PM

That is just the best news ever, Beckie! Achievement unlocked! I hope you can have some nice naps in the future too.

I hope you enjoy your book, Tamo. Do you keep the books you've bought once you finish them?

What's the starting scenario for role play tonight, Jen?

long road 30-06-2023 06:09 PM

Mid final battle (or possibly penultimate battle the big bad hasn't showed up yet) is starting scenario. We had got some of the hordes of enemies down but there are many to go and the guys in charge haven't become active participants yet!

one_step_closer 30-06-2023 06:12 PM

What do you use to fight? Weapons?

tamobhuuta 30-06-2023 07:01 PM

I usually keep them yeah

one_step_closer 30-06-2023 07:11 PM

Would you read them again at some point? I always give mine to a charity shop/Tesco charity book case when I've finished because I wouldn't read them again.

How is your evening going?

tamobhuuta 30-06-2023 08:01 PM

Occasionally I do a sort and get rid of some. I can't remember what I did last time but I should give them to charity.

long road 30-06-2023 08:12 PM

I have fancy power swords and rocket guns and such

Cacoethes 01-07-2023 06:32 AM

Morning everyone!

tamobhuuta 01-07-2023 09:57 AM

Morning Cacoethes, how are you?

Cacoethes 01-07-2023 10:57 AM

Ok thanks.
Just back from taekwondo and showered.
Going to the cinema with L later!

How are you?

tamobhuuta 01-07-2023 11:22 AM

Did you enjoy it? What are you going to see?

I'm ok but got a capacity to work form in the post this morning :/

Cacoethes 01-07-2023 11:30 AM

Yeah was good thanks! Sweaty! Lol
I'm not sure! It's a surprise! We like pretty much all the same things so i trust her judgment!

I think they just do these checks occasionally.
Plus i think if you're on esa, they're trying to move people onto the new style esa which i believe is under UC. And they regularly assess capability for work. Could be making that up. Was pretty much what i was told by UC lady.

long road 01-07-2023 12:08 PM

Afternoon!

I am out in the hammock again. Although weather isn't quite as good today. Wind a bit stronger and the sun keeps going behind the clouds. May have to get a blanket.

one_step_closer 01-07-2023 12:19 PM

Hello my friends. Wishing you all a good day.

The weather report from this part of Scotland is very windy.

Done a washing and cleaned my kitchen and bathroom (not very well) *gently pulls Beckie to the side* I was wondering, again, if I could please borrow your neighbour. It can just be a one time thing. I'll pay you both and I won't try to haggle. I'll even leave jewellery and money out and if she steals them I won't go to the police. I'm willing to meet your demands.

Hope you enjoy seeing L and going to the cinema.

Try not to worry too much Tamo, although I know that's hard. Do you have to fill something in? Can you get some help? I hope you can do something nice to take your mind off it.

I'd laugh if the wind swung you right round in the hammock, Jen! Sorry.

tamobhuuta 01-07-2023 12:27 PM

Thanks for the reassurances. My mum's going to help me fill it in. It's mainly geared towards people with physical disabilities which I think is unfair.

long road 01-07-2023 12:36 PM

I think I would fall off before that happened Lindsay! The hammock hooks onto the stand if it spun me upside down the hammock would probably fall off the hooks and I would fall with it!

I have a blanket now

nonperson 01-07-2023 01:24 PM

Maybe you're going to see Indiana Jones, Beckie =o

one_step_closer 01-07-2023 01:54 PM

Yeah, the DWP forms and questions can make it hard to explain mental health stuff. I hope you get on ok. Are there any organisations who could advise you? Even citizens advice maybe? It would be helpful if you had someone who has lots of experience of the forms and knows how to answer the questions.

You still outside, Jen? A hammock and a blanket sound so relaxing with a bit of a breeze too.

Is that your prediction, NP? I don't even know what's on at the cinema right now. How's your day going?

nonperson 01-07-2023 02:27 PM

It was new out this week, it's what I'd go to see. Otherwise I've no idea what else there is at the cinema at the moment.

My day's going a bit meh. How's yours?

long road 01-07-2023 02:59 PM

I went inside and left my partner to enjoy hammock
And sadly our hammock broke :( My partner shifted as he was getting out and the fabric ripped. Luckily he didn't fall on the floor. And the hammock fabric was over 20 years old.

But I am sad I cannot have more hammock time this afternoon. We still have the stand so will have to buy a new hammock.

tamobhuuta 01-07-2023 03:09 PM

I went to Mass in British sign language :)

one_step_closer 01-07-2023 03:25 PM

Oh no, NP. I hope your day improves. Is there something nice you can do? I just feel a bit blank but also anxious.

Better get the hammock ordered asap, Jen, can't have you missing out.

That sounds interesting, Tamo. I'd like to be able to use BSL and have been to a short class on it and tried books etc but I've forgotten most of it.

tamobhuuta 01-07-2023 03:51 PM

I've been going for years, most months. I know some quite weird stuff like our bishop's name but also please and thank you etc.

long road 01-07-2023 05:12 PM

We have found a hammock we really like but it's currently out of stock. Should be back in stock sometime next week.

Also I have a travel hammock still at my parents house that might work on the stand. So may get my parents to post that when they are home from holiday.

one_step_closer 01-07-2023 05:17 PM

Cool, Tamo.

What are you going to do in the meantime, Jen?

What's everyone up to with the rest of the day?

Cacoethes 01-07-2023 05:58 PM

Whaddup my dudes.

I am back!
We went to see 'no hard feelings'
It's a comedy. Not something i would have chosen just by seeing the name, but I'm so glad she chose it! Very funny!

one_step_closer 01-07-2023 06:04 PM

Hey, Beckie! I'm glad you had a nice time and enjoyed the film. Did you lol?

Cacoethes 01-07-2023 06:13 PM

I did lol! Quite a lot!

Also, we are now going axe throwing on Wednesday XD
