Isn't it still just pasta and sauce but put in an oven? Confused.

Maybe he just felt like going a bit crazy and letting it all out then having a nice nap.

not_so_insig 12-06-2023 08:10 PM

I had pasta and sauce for tea but used the hob.

one_step_closer 12-06-2023 08:11 PM

What sauce did you use? Did you enjoy it?

I had breaded chicken and some veg.

Cacoethes 12-06-2023 08:14 PM

Personally, i think it's a pasta bake when you layer cheese through it and then bake it because of the cheese.

long road 12-06-2023 08:18 PM

I mixed some cheese into it, but put most of the cheese on top and baked it until the cheese is golden and pasta bits poking through the cheese were crispy. It was very tasty.

And I had a fruit pastille ice lolly for dessert because it's so hot

Cacoethes 12-06-2023 08:19 PM

Sounds like a 10/10 dinner!

I just got an email to say my energy bills are going DOWN!
Apparently wholesale costs are falling.

long road 12-06-2023 08:27 PM

Hooray that is good news!

not_so_insig 12-06-2023 08:27 PM

I used a dolmio stir in sauce for my pasta Lindsay. I wanted something simple as not in the mood for complicated cooking.

tamobhuuta 12-06-2023 08:29 PM

Hooray for lower bills!

long road 12-06-2023 08:30 PM

Simple dinners for the win Dawn.

Cacoethes 12-06-2023 08:39 PM

Very pleased!
Every penny helps!

StepSoftlyGhost 12-06-2023 08:49 PM

I made pasta bake tonight too! Although I'm kind of told what to cook when I work at the rehab as we have a set menu. Was nice though (if i do say so myself)!

Cacoethes 12-06-2023 08:52 PM

Pasta bake night for everyone!

I had cheesy pasta. So still kind of like a bake!

long road 12-06-2023 09:10 PM

Pasta is the best food. Clearly this Monday was RYL pasta night!

How you doing David? How was work?

Not so great tonight in all honesty, but as this is the distraction thread I'll try not to bring it down! I've mentioned elsewhere what's going on with me; thank you for asking.

Work was busy today! I actually have two jobs. I'm director at one place, and the other is working at a rehab that I got sober in myself. I came back not long after I left to help out, then they offered me a job and I've been here ever since. Both are very busy! I'm doing a night here tonight at the rehab, then back to my other job in the morning! :doze:

How about you? Keeping busy?

not_so_insig 12-06-2023 09:16 PM

I spent ages looking for my earrings which involved moving a small chest of drawers. Not recommended in this heat. I was gutted at the thought that they may be lost as they're one of my favourite pairs. Turns out they had fallen underneath the rug in front of said chest of drawers. So I am glad that they weren't lost. So i am boiling now and going to sit in front of a fan with a cold drink.

long road 12-06-2023 09:27 PM

Two jobs! Very busy! Good of you to give back to the rehab that helped you out :) won't you be too tired to work again in the morning or do you sleep over on your rehab shift?

I am a little off but as you said this isn't the thread for that. I have had neuro physio today and currently I am watching old episodes of midsomer murders. I don't work at the moment but I am slowly working my way through neuro rehab to getting back to work. When I do work I am a civil engineer designing roads, flood defences that kind of thing.

StepSoftlyGhost 12-06-2023 10:20 PM

Yes, i know what you mean. If I wasn't so busy here, I think that vent forum would be getting flooded tonight!

When we have new residents in that are detoxing from drugs or alcohol (like we do at the moment) it can be quite a restless night! But the vast majority of the time, I am afforded some rest when the residents are settled in their routines and get a decent sleep pattern back in their lives. So work at my other job on Tuesdays can be pretty interesting! Not looking forward to it tomorrow, but it's so rewarding working here, so it's all worth it in the long term. I stay in touch with many of them after they leave, so it's just great helping them and makes the exhaustion worthwhile (after I've had a moan about it for a couple of days!)

Wow, that job sounds intriguing. A friend of mine used to do a similar job too.

I hope you feel better soon.

long road 12-06-2023 10:35 PM

Sounds like there is a large amount of coffee in your near future David! I can hear from your words how rewarding it is, I guess its a bit like parenting there are sleepless nights but in the long term it's worth it! (Not that I have kids but it's what I hear)

It's a fun challenge most days although sometimes like all jobs it can be a bit of a grind. It's cool getting to see things you design get built.

Thanks maybe tomorrow will be a better day.

Cacoethes 13-06-2023 05:25 AM

Morning everyone!

long road 13-06-2023 09:12 AM

Morning Beckie!
Sorry to see you woke up ridiculously early again.

Any plans for the day?

tamobhuuta 13-06-2023 10:01 AM

Morning guys, how are you? Any plans for today?

long road 13-06-2023 10:11 AM

Morning Tamo!
I am doing ok thanks. Yourself?

I am in my garden under the gazebo with a cup of coffee right now. Planning to go out for lunch later and have a main meal so we don't have to cook and make the flat hotter tonight. It's meant to get to 30°C here today!

Have you got any plans for the day?

one_step_closer 13-06-2023 10:32 AM

Morning everyone. Another hot one here. Just want to stay inside in the cool.

How are you all? What are you getting up to?

What's your garden like, Jen? I hope you enjoy your lunch. Do you know what you fancy?

Needing to call the CMHT at 11am to see if there is an appointment with my psych. So anxious. Also have to see if I can fit the gym group in. I hate everything being up in the air. I need concrete plans for my days.

one_step_closer 13-06-2023 10:34 AM

Everyone please look at this, it's so cute and funny. Hope it makes you smile.

tamobhuuta 13-06-2023 10:43 AM

That made me chuckle osc :) I hope you get an appointment.

Enjoy your lunch LR

My only plans today are to watch doctors and check my appointment date with the neurologist.

one_step_closer 13-06-2023 10:47 AM

Thanks, Tamo. I hope you have a good day and enjoy Doctors. Do you have access to information like that on an online system?

Cacoethes 13-06-2023 10:47 AM

Yeah. Was up at 4:45am :plain:

I've just done the gym, someone coming to pick something up, piercing check at 2, appointment with dwp at 3, glow beatz tonight.

Where are you going for lunch jen?

Good luck with your phone call lindsay!

Thst picture is hilarious!

long road 13-06-2023 10:49 AM

:Gasp:  :Sticking Out Tongue

Naughty Stars!

My garden is mostly just a big patch of grass, we have put a nice picket fence round the outside though. I have a buddelia I am trying to grow and in the spring some daffodils and tulips. And then currently have gazebo set up in the middle of the grass which we put our wooden folding chairs and table under when we are out there.

Might go to the garden centre that does really nice roasts.

Sorry to hear your day is in limbo, uncertainty can be very stressful. Offers *hugs* if you would like one.

one_step_closer 13-06-2023 10:50 AM

That sounds so annoying, Beckie. Do you feel too awake to try and get back to sleep? How are you managing to do ALL the things on little sleep? I hope your day goes well.

one_step_closer 13-06-2023 10:52 AM

I'm glad you have a garden, Jen, to get out for a bit when you're not going anywhere. Will you get anything at the garden centre as well as your lunch? Thank you for the hugs.

Cacoethes 13-06-2023 10:58 AM

Your garden sounds nice jen!

Love a roast.

Yeah it is annoying lindsay. Generally, once I'm awake, I'm awake. I can't do the lying in bed thing. I do feel awake enough to get up, just a little groggy.

long road 13-06-2023 10:58 AM

I am lucky to have a garden with my flat. Only downside to it is the block of flats over looks it but it's on the smaller bedroom, bathroom, kitchen side so people don't tend to hang out on that side of the flats.

I have a shopping list for the garden centre but I will have to Google if it is too late in the year to plant out the shrubs I want to get for the planter at the front of my flat. Wouldnt want to buy them and then kill them.

Cacoethes 13-06-2023 11:13 AM

Sounds pretty good!

Shopping list is a plan!

I've put some frozen water bottles in socks in the boy's cage. Merry is a fan, pippin hasn't worked it out yet! XD

long road 13-06-2023 11:22 AM

Well Google says the shrubs like to be planted in March/ April (when I made the shopping list) or from mid September to early November. So won't be getting shrubs but will get the watering can and secateurs and maybe a new pot for my buddleia if I see a nice one so I can repot t at the end of the summer.

I like the sound of a froz n water bottle in a sock. May go get a cool pack for myself in a minute. Lol at Pippin being slow!

not_so_insig 13-06-2023 11:47 AM

Morning all. I am waiting for amazon and have my parents coming later.

Cacoethes 13-06-2023 12:15 PM

That's a shame jen!
Hope you still manage to get some nice things!

I called up and asked if i could go to the piercing check early, they said to just come down. So that's done and everything looks good!
And went to aldi to get some flavoured sparkling water. But one is still and i didn't realise. Oh well!
I'm trying to move away from the diet cola!

long road 13-06-2023 12:42 PM

It's ok I am glad I looked first! I thought planting things out in the summer probably wouldn't be the best idea.

You can always freeze the still one for the piggos!

tamobhuuta 13-06-2023 12:46 PM

I hope you have a nice time with your parents insig.

I'm making steady progress on my quotes book. Now I'm going to scour amazon for a suitable notebook.

long road 13-06-2023 12:52 PM

Ooh you want a nice fancy notebook for your quotebook.

Cacoethes 13-06-2023 12:57 PM

Yes, definitely good that you looked!

It's a litre bottle, so wouldn't even fit in a sock!

tamobhuuta 13-06-2023 12:59 PM

I just went for plain black in the end.

not_so_insig 13-06-2023 01:28 PM

Glad you managed to get a notebook tamobhuuta. I hope that you enjoy filling it with your quotes.

tamobhuuta 13-06-2023 01:43 PM

Might fit in a football sock or an old pair of tights?

Was Doctors extra dramatic today Tamo?

I am back from the garden centre. I had a roast turkey dinner with all the trimmings and lots of different kinds of veg and a local apple juice. Was delish and it's so good knowing we don't have to cook tonight. Also got some nice secateurs so can prune my buddleia when it needs it and chop down the massive bramble encroaching on my garden. And a fancy purple metal watering can as we don't have an outside tap and plants get thirsty in heat like this.

Cacoethes 13-06-2023 02:54 PM

I haven't owned football socks since i was at primary school XD
I only have one pair of tights, that are my work tights!

Sounds like a successful trip jen!

tamobhuuta 13-06-2023 03:38 PM

Zara lied about goings on with a student. I'm glad you had a good time at the garden centre.

I have many pairs of tights!

not_so_insig 13-06-2023 03:54 PM

Beckie I have read your r/v. Glad it was something relatively straightforward. I bet you are relieved.

one_step_closer 13-06-2023 03:57 PM

Yay for you all doing the things!

I'm so glad to be home.

not_so_insig 13-06-2023 04:01 PM

Is it hot outside where you live Lindsay?
