Our last cat was called Zeus. No wonder he had a god complex.
I'm off to the library after lunch. |
Afternoon everyone.
Sorry you didn't sleep well, Beth. Hopefully you'll sleep better tonight because of it. Branson and Pickle are amazing names, as are the others! I hope you get your bloods done soon, Beckie. I'm glad you managed to get an appointment. My surgery is all over the place at the moment with staffing difficulties. We put requests online and at some point someone will phone back after reviewing them to tell you if you need an appointment and when or if you just need some meds or advice etc. Now I think you have to phone at points and they close the online thing at 1pm except for emergencies. Safe trip home, Jen. I'm glad you managed to see the wedding. Someone taking your sandwiches is not nice, Tamo! Lol at the strange dream! If you're having sandwiches today you better guard them. When is your Tesco order due, Dawn? Did you get any treats? |
It's due between 2 and 3 pm Lindsay. I got some pastries as a treat as well as a milkshake. The milkshake was the substitute but its acceptable. I dont normally have pastries or milkshake.
|
The first non urgent blood test slot was this Wednesday! Lol
Zeus is a cool name for a pet I actually got through to reception in 6 minutes, had an appointment by 7 past! You have to have to have your finger hovering over the call button at 7:59am to call the SECOND it turns 8am! It's almost like a fastest finger first situation XD Your gp system sounds confusing |
Also if anyone gets a letter from the dwp that they're not expecting it's only the tax letter. I had one this morning and it frightened me so I thought I would warn people in case they panic.
|
Cool. Thanks!
Always worry about those |
Tamobhuuta did you know that there's no Doctors on next Monday? Unsure if it's just the Monday or it's not on all week atm. Next Monday is another Bank Holiday hence why Doctors isn't on.
|
I hope you enjoy your pastries, Dawn. Thanks for the DWP letter warning.
My GP used to be like that, Beckie. I'd just lie in bed from 8am on the phone! I'm glad you got an appointment for your blood test. I thought you were meant to get an urgent one? |
I think the urgent ones can be walk in, so it could be done today. But I'm trying to find out if that's actually the case.
But they don't do bloods at the GP anymore, you have to go to either B or S. And I'm going to B tomorrow anyway on the way to mum's. But the next available routine appointment is Wednesday. |
I have had tesco. The tesco man I'D me. Took longer to find my id than to unpack the shopping. But I have my alcohol now.
|
Right i actually need to get off my arse and clean.
Only been 'about to' do it for about 2 hours |
Home safe and sound. Time for a nap I think!
|
Yaaay!
Nap sounds good. I've cleaned upstairs. |
I woke up at like 8am this morning and fell asleep sometime after 1am, so nap is definitely in order. Although I did doze for around 30 minutes in the car.
It's been a great weekend on Saturday we explored the village we were staying in a bit and just chilled. Wedding on Sunday was lovely. With bright sunshine both days. And although I am now rather tired and a bit achy. I didn't have many symptoms while I was away, no leg spasms or weakness or non epileptic seizures. |
Sounds like a successful weekend!
You're bound to be tired and achy after all that! I have successfully cleaned. It didn't take that long because my brain decided we aren't hyper fixating on it today :eyeroll: Which is good, because I'm too tired. Downstairs is going to get messed up again tomorrow anyway because I'll be cleaning the boys out, but upstairs is done and surfaces downstairs, so I'll just need to do the usual sweeping up tomorrow. |
Thanks for the warning insig. And well done on being IDed.
|
Did you see my post about Doctors tamobhuuta?
|
Glad you got your shopping ok, Dawn, despite needing to be ID'd!
I'm glad you didn't have too many symptoms while you were away, Jen and managed to enjoy the weekend. Definitely time for a nap! Well done with all your housework, Beckie. All over and done with for now! |
Thank you!
Yes, thank goodness! I've packed my clothes for tomorrow, because I'm not going to have a massive amount of time between gym and bus, and i need to clean the boys out. So I'd definitely end up forgetting something if i was in a rush! Also, it's surprising how much can fit in a cabin sized suitcase! When i opened it i was like, I'm barely going to fit one outfit in there! But got a weeks worth of stuff in! It's like a tardis! Anyway. Rambled a bit there! How are you lindsay? What's for dinner? It's that time soon right? |
Yes I saw, thanks insig :)
|
I rang A (director, also an MFHA) today for some reassurance, because I'm the other MHFA and spent half an hour on Friday supporting one of the vets who's really struggling - however I feel immensely guilty because we're short staffed and overwhelmed on reception and I left the phone for that half hour. But the vet was in the middle of a meltdown so I'd have felt guilty for leaving her too.
A was REALLY helpful!! |
I think you did the right thing!
30 mins is no time at all. I'm sure nothing THAT urgent could be happening with the phones! I'm glad A was helpful :) Are you home now? |
Quote:
On Friday, there were only two of us, one at each site. |
How're you Beckie?
|
I'd say that having a vet out of action would have a bigger effect on things than some missed phone calls!
Those people can always call back, if the vet had to leave or couldn't continue working, chaos! |
I'm ok thanks.
The stressful thing I've been freaking out about since yesterday has been resolved! So i am feeling a great deal better! |
Are you starting your house sitting tomorrow, Beckie? It's good to do things in advance to prevent rushing, well done.
I'm glad you reached out to A and found it helpful, Beth. No matter how busy or short staffed you are you deserved that support. I had salad for dinner. Really need to be having dinner later so I don't have a million bowls of cereal through the evening. I also ordered a waffle with strawberries, Ferrero rocher, kinder bueno, and chocolate and Nutella sauce (don't know why they had two sauces). It wasn't worth it really. |
Ninja Beckie. I'm really glad the stressful thing has been resolved. Hope you can relax now.
|
Yay for a resolution!!!
|
I'm going to mum's tomorrow because they are leaving stupidly early in the morning on Wednesday. So i have to be there for the dogs. One of them is peeing A LOT atm, possible thyroid issue, so she can't really be left more than a few hours.
Cereal is very moreish tbh That waffle sounds amazing! Thanks! Honestly it was like a physical weight was lifted off me! |
I can imagine how you must have been feeling, Beckie. I'm so glad it's sorted.
How long will you be at your Mum's? Will you survive in the quiet with not much to do?! |
Thanks. Me too!
I'll be there until next Wednesday. I'm honestly not really looking forward to it! But i can walk to the country park cafe. There's a fish and chip shop in the next village too, opposite the co op (next village makes it sound far away, but it's only like 25 min walk down the road) Also, weirdly enough I met a girl in the psych ward years ago, same one I've just been discharged from, and we added each other on fb. It turns out she lives in the same village as my mum! The village is basically just one road in the middle of nowhere, so the odds of that happening are pretty astronomical! I messaged her and we're gonna try and meet up. So hopefully it won't be too bad! |
I hope you can find what works for you and it's a bit like a nice break for you.
|
Hopefully!
My brother said he might try and come up and keep me company for a bit. But he started his new job today so idk |
Will you still be coming on here? I hope your brother does manage to come and see you. Will you be back in time for your blood test?
|
Yeah i will be
I don't have a time for the blood test. Afaik, the urgent bloods are walk ins I have to wait for an hour in B for my mum to pick me up anyway, so i was going to go while I'm there. |
Evening gang!
Tamo, I just saw a dramatic doctors spoiler on the twitter (I'm weeks behind, so current episodes constitute spoilers!) and I'm shocked!! Beckie, you know you said your mum's house is really quiet - are there a million effing birds making a racket all the time? We're only slightly rural but are being driven to distraction by bloody owl pigeons. |
Hey jenna!
(Saying that like we haven't been messaging all day XD) Surprisingly not! Even though she has bird feeders in the garden. The house is ridiculously well insulated (it is an eco house, don't you know) so you can't really hear much when the garden doors are closed! Owl pigeons sound awful tbh! |
Something did happen in doctors very recently...
|

Lio likes to taunt me about the damn owl pigeons. I think she sent me a recording of some one time??? Quote:

I love the noise
|
SCREW YOU
|
Now she’d hovering on LFV just waiting to dive in to hurl abuse at me jfc
|
:-D
.. |
Is it worse than a wood pigeon?
Because i heard someone say that when you listen to a wood pigeon coo, it sounds like 'my toe hurts betty' and i went to youtube and its ruined my life |
Beckie if the bloods are urgent then you should probably go as an urgent thing. Could you at least try and get a routine slot for when you have finished house sitting or even get the bus from your mum's to B and be away from a few hours? I assuming animals can be left for a few hours just not for days. Gentle Nagging over.
I had a fairly recharging nap and feel a bit better now physically, however I had a very odd nightmare while asleep and still shaking that off mentally. Jenna coo coo coo coo |
It's not worse than a wood pigeon because Jenna just renamed wood pigeons 'owl pigeons' and I'm not going to youtube I am fully capable of ruining my own life without it thanks tho
|
I'm gonna go as a walk in tomorrow but if walk ins aren't a thing, then i will book one, as it's only one bus.
Hope you can shake off the nightmare. They can be unsettling. Why on earth would she do that?? Yeah don't youtube it. Jenna should though. |
Well i called it an owl until someone told me it was a pigeon (this was when I’d heard not seen it) but it sounds like an owl.
Also ‘I’m fully capable of ruining my own life’ lol, what a quote |
I fell asleep!I'm so tired of being tired!
