Mini loaf for the Shop Man just came out and looks cute!

Happy housework time everyone! Sorry you couldn’t get the tree jpg you were hoping for Lindsay!

one_step_closer 01-05-2023 01:13 PM

Exactly how much housework do you have to do, NP? I might offer a helping hand or some encouragement or just tell you you don't have to do ALL the things today if you can come to some compromise.

The cuteness of a mini loaf <3

The Worst Witch 01-05-2023 01:19 PM

*teleports to NPs house*

Also, you’re location thing makes me laugh NP having now discovered hiw big London actually is! When I went a few months ago, my aunt and I took a train from the airport to our hotel and it took like an hour. I was shocked to discover that we were actually still in London and its just that big. Also, whats with all the Pret a Mangers everywhere? I mentioned this to Beckie when I was there, was weird.

Lindsay, I hope you manage to get a decent photo of the tree another day!

Pi.R^2 01-05-2023 01:21 PM

Your airport wasn't in London tbf.

one_step_closer 01-05-2023 01:23 PM

I got a good enough photo, was just wanting to share it with a pen pal because she's very into flowers and it's a blossom tree.

Just done an Asda shop for delivery and it cost loads even though I bought practically nothing. I usually struggle to get to £40 so I don't have extra cost added on but I was quickly over £40 today. Scary.

I've just woken up!

Also, I knows - but I didnt know if you were okay with your name being used on here :satisfied:

long road 01-05-2023 01:25 PM

Finally managed to get up. I am super achy and fatigued though. It's sunny here and I want to go outside but I am not sure if that's a good idea of considering how I feel physically.

I shall have a word with the brownies (helpful fairies) and see if they can come help everyone with their housework.

Ooh fresh bread is the best Jenna, hope the shop man suitably appreciates the bread of your people

tamobhuuta 01-05-2023 01:25 PM

I've sorted my meds boxes! Now I'm ready to watch doctors which is on at half past.

Well done everyone who is being productive.

You did tell me that at the time :P. We’re getting the train for actual wedding so hopefully journey won’t take as long (aside from the actual train journey there). I think we’re getting the sleeper though. I should’ve listened to you the last time and got the train, but tbf the travel arrangements were kind of made for me :P

Pi.R^2 01-05-2023 01:28 PM

Oh sorry for accidentally insulting your photography skills Lindsay :P Btw, can't remember if I've asked before but where do you acquire your penpals?

Beth, after I posted that I was out gardening and realised that's why you said that, since you definitely do know my name since we have messaged on fb so I felt very silly (sillier than I already did sitting in a flower bed trying to do weeding!).

tamo, enjoy doctors! I'm so behind on it, alas.

Ahimsa 01-05-2023 01:31 PM

What a silly sausage!

Ahimsa 01-05-2023 02:00 PM

My plan for the day:

Fruit shop (I forgot about it yesterday)
Batch cooking for the week
Dye my hair
Washing
Washing up
Vacuum my bedroom.
Transfer at least 1 week of my gratitude journal into the journal and off my phone! I was meant to keep up with writing it down!

There's always loads to do but I mostly need to hoover today. I don't have set days to do things or a weekly housework list, I just do it when I can. I'll get the hoovering done when the cat wakes up and leaves the house.

*hands you the hoover* (despite saying what I did above, heh)

Tbh, much like all these "London" airports, I'm not really London at all. But I can see bits of London and I can see a major London airport from my house/work. So I am definitely London-ish, but I think most people know where I really am.

Also I love Pret! When I do go in to London Proper that is usually what I seek out for lunch. =P

If it makes you feel any better I spent about 3 times that amount this morning... :pinch:

ARGH HELP!

I've sat on my foot for too long and I cannot move my toes at all!!

Ahimsa 01-05-2023 02:25 PM

Oh no!!!!

long road 01-05-2023 02:29 PM

Wiggle your foot with your hands? It should get the blood flowing back.

long road 01-05-2023 02:31 PM

I made it outside and the Sunshine was definitely worth the effort of dragging my body out there. In fact I came inside partly because I was getting too warm! Makes a change from rainy bank holidays!

Ahimsa 01-05-2023 02:39 PM

It's grey and damp here :( No sunshine for me!

Pi.R^2 01-05-2023 02:44 PM

Np, can you feel your foot yet? I managed to not realise that had happened recently and just tried to stand up and immediately fell over, knocking things as I fell and I had to explain what the racket was :P

I sprained my ankle by standing up quickly to answer the door when I didn't realise my foot was asleep once. It just flopped.and I hit the floor!

nonperson 01-05-2023 02:49 PM

My foot is back to normal! The numb stage lasted a while, then the intense pain came... but I was not foolish enough to try walking on it!

I just put some washing out on the line and am wondering if that was a silly idea as it's looking a bit grey outside now. It's been mostly sunny with some showers here but it looked like it had cleared up. This is the worst weather day we've had here this weekend.

That map is multifunctional!

long road 01-05-2023 02:55 PM

Sad times it is grey up north Ahimsa. I do live in the south west and we tend to get better weather, it's why so many people come on holiday down here!

I grew up London adjacent NP. But just far enough I don't think I could call Londonish. Although the town I went to school in was at the end of a tube line.

long road 01-05-2023 02:56 PM

Hooray for an awake foot and no lasting injury! I hope the weather lets you washing dry NP!

Ahimsa 01-05-2023 03:01 PM

News, I have done approximately 3/4 of the washing up! I ran out of space though so this lot will have to dry before I can do any more.

Pi.R^2 01-05-2023 03:04 PM

Beth - I forgot to ask, what are you batch-cooking? Always looking for ideas!

longroad (do I use your name on here????) - not London. I've decided I'm the official spokesperson on the definition of London :P One time I took the tube all the way out to what I think is your school town just for the love of the underground! Alas, I'd stayed in bed moping until then so by the time I got all the way out there everything was closed...

np, hope your laundry survives! We've just had a ton of rain here, so I guess I'm not finishing off my gardening today after all.

oh and lol, you definitely win!!

Ahimsa 01-05-2023 03:06 PM

Also, I have just won a Daniel Wellington watch on eBay for £20. It looks basically new - but to buy it new would be $239 - according to Google thats £190!

Ahimsa 01-05-2023 03:09 PM

Jenna! I eat some fish but not meat (it's a debate, I know, but I'm that picky and struggle with that many things its easier to just take it as it is)

I do (a different one each week, so I always have variety in the freezer):
- Salmon stir fry, I do a different sauce each time, so today is a mix of peanut butter, honey and soy sauce - with loads of veg
- Quorn stir fry - same with sauces/veg
- Spaghetti and Quorn meatballs in tomato sauce
- Veggie chilli and rice

Then I batch a fruit salad into boxes for the week too :) So in the morning I just grab a tuppaware from the freezer, and one from the fridge and I'm good to go.

But is it London-ish? What is your official definition of London Vs London-ish? Inside or outside the M25 boundary?

You can use my first name (i.e. Jen) Its in all my posts from 10-13 years ago so I see no point in trying to me more anonymous now! That and half of people who still use the site have met me in person.

Everything being closed, sounds like where I grew up XD
Although I actually lived in a village 6 miles from the end of that tube line and 2 miles from the nearest station. I agree it is not London! When I commuted into London from home it took me an hour and 15 minutes to an hour and a half to get to work in Kings Cross. I only lasted 6 months in that job...

Do you remember the time someone stole the cooper telephone line into my village and I didn't have the internet for over a week :hehe:

Clearly the best thing to win at is spraining your ankle :jumpin:

Oh how exciting! Although I googled it and as far as I can see they do not come in purple??? What's going on!

You sound like the queen of productivity with your batch cooking. And reminded me that spaghetti & meatballs exist. Alas I do not like stir-fry or I'd be flying with all the sauce options! Also I tried to batch make fruit salad one time but it quickly went bad in the fridge so that was all the motivation I needed to never eat fruit again. Oh, and please don't feel you need to explain yourself eating fish! I'm not a preachy vegan at all and strongly discourage it in a lot of cases.

I mean as the Queen of London I declare that London-ish is not a thing. Since my current 'special interest' is counties, it just has to be in Greater London or City of London. Anything else is in one of the neighbouring counties.

Ahimsa 01-05-2023 03:25 PM

They do not come in purple, which is very very sad :(

Weren't you born up North? And don't you live there now? I refuse to recognise you as Queen of London :tongue2:

Edit to add that noone has ever heard of my county of birth and I always had to describe it in relation to London

Pi.R^2 01-05-2023 03:31 PM

I refuse to recognise your opinion *shrug*

Pi.R^2 01-05-2023 03:32 PM

And no I WASN'T EVEN BORN IN THIS COUNTRY

long road 01-05-2023 03:34 PM

I forgot that. And that's after discussing the bread of your people earlier today. Apologies for my poor Jenna fact remembering :crying:

I will do better next time.

The county of my birth is Buckinghamshire.

I've heard of that!!

I could, I'd probably be quite vague and not dead on, but yes :)

Cacoethes 01-05-2023 03:48 PM

I was born in Norfolk
Apparently a thing they used to to do was put NFN on birth notes which stands for 'normal for norfolk'
I have been told this by several people, i am sceptical of the truth of this 'fact"

Ahimsa 01-05-2023 03:50 PM

I was born in Leeds, I live in Leeds.

If we're talking counties, then I agree. But as I'm not claiming London-ish to be a county, it merely means somewhere near London and I don't think anyone would not know the geographical area that was describing?

Pi.R^2 01-05-2023 03:56 PM

:plain:
Also that is actually very fair and I concede.
