Any plans for the day?

I'm waiting for a call from my GP and I need a hairwash. I have to wait for the doc to call so he doesn't call while I'm in the shower.

Are there any activities on the ward you can do to pass the time?

Yeah no doubt as soon as you get in the shower, they will ring!

I don't think so. The OTA wasn't in yesterday and i haven't seen her today.

Shame. Headphones then? Is there an outside space you can access without leave? It's sunny here, what's your weather like?

I'm rehydrating because i drank a little bit too much last night. Only a little bit. And it was very enjoyable!

Yep always headphones!
Luckily i have two pairs so when these are out of battery, i can just switch!
There is a garden but you need staff supervision which is unlikely to happen.

As long as you enjoyed yourself! Definitely important to hydrate

Speaking of being in the shower when someone calls. Once when I was in hospital I was in the shower and the fire alarms kept going off but luckily they were just testing them!

Beckie, you'll need to slip them some meds every night so you can have some peace! I'm glad you finally had a good nights sleep. I'm also glad you have two sets of headphones, good trick!

I've been to pick up my meds and put them in their boxes and I've washed my hair. The rest of the time I've been online.

What's your garden like? I can't sit in mine because of my neighbours as I've probably said before.

We've got a lovely big garden. A patio with potted plants and a lawn with flower beds. Also a magnolia tree which is in flower right now and gorgeous.

The OTA ambushed me in the garden so a couple of us did a quiz. A logo one and a general knowledge one.
I was told by the other girl that I'm very clever because i knew most of them! I just know a lot of random stuff.
A few days ago i was asked if i went to uni, i said no and they said i sound like i did XD

Highlight of my day so far has been having a cup of my fancy ethiopian yirgacheffe coffee out in the sunshine.

I also have a new recipe book that arrived yesterday, written by Max Miller from the Tasting History You Tube Channel. All the recipes are based on historical recipes but with modern measurements and method, plus a little history lesson before the recipe. It's all very exciting my partner got it for me as a late birthday present and it's even signed!!! I have been slowly going through it trying to work out which recipe to try first and if I need to purchase any strange ingredients or additional equipment.

Sleep is amazing and without it I am not a person anyone wants to be around. Do you think your work friends could smuggle in a brick to help you continue to get good nights of sleep? :P

I made it with my Aeropress. Basically an Ethiopian variant of an arabica bean, It cost a bit more than my usual ground coffee but not that much more, so I get it as an occassional treat.

Ooh now I want more cookbooks and Christmas is 8 months away bother. The first world problem of having a birthday in February creating a suboptimal present distribution!

I’m off this weekend but I’ll spend most of Saturday asleep and then Sunday doing chores.

But they are used almost constantly.
Another ward has 2 washers and 2 dryers. Don't know why we only have one of each for 18 patients!
