I'll post some of the good questions when I'm there?

Thank you for hair compliments! :)

Surely I am saving you from having to eat them by eating so many. Parsnips are one of my favourite veg, alongside butternut squash .

tamobhuuta 16-04-2023 07:37 PM

Butternut squash yes, parsnips no.

long road 16-04-2023 07:38 PM

More parsnips for me!

Haha!
I don't mind butternut squash though. In fact I'm about to consume a large quantity of it in a daal along with this burnt rice!

not_so_insig 16-04-2023 07:40 PM

Sorry Jenna I didn't see your reply. I am ok thanks. Spent nearly £12 on cards but I did get 6 so on average about £2 per card. Got one for Lorraine as I saw the perfect card for her. Also found a cushion but they were expensive plus very heavy so would cost a fortune to post so didn't buy it.

Cacoethes 16-04-2023 07:44 PM

I am a fan of parsnips!
I buy them regularly but for the piggos. I never considered sharing them! Only 50p for a bag of the wonky ones. Bargain!

not_so_insig 16-04-2023 07:49 PM

I love parsnips. Wouldn't have a clue what to do with a butternut squash let alone if I like it.

:plain:
Also butternut squashes are an absolute pain to peel and chop but worth it in the end. Tastes a bit like sweet potato.

Ahimsa 16-04-2023 07:52 PM

Butternut squashes upset me.

Jenna, my nanny told me you poke some holes in it and put it in the oven for a bit and it softens. Or something like that. I'd google to be sure. But apparently it makes it SO much easier and less like an arm workout

nonperson 16-04-2023 08:06 PM

I do a similar thing - you cut them in half and microwave the two halves cut sides down in a bit of water and yeah, it softens the skin and makes chopping so much easier.

I also like parsnips.

Daal is tasty, partner doesn't like curry though and it seems pointless to make it just for me. And I can't order from the takeaway due to not being able to eat chillies. Butternut squash curries very well.

I always get the wonky parsnips. When you roast them shape doesn't overly matter and I find you generally get fatter ones in the wonky bag. You do get a few mutants though I had a five legged parsnip once!

I am not sure the boys would want to share... Maybe get two bags if you want some!

I peel my butternut squash with a knife, find it works pretty well. They are a bit a mission though.

Apologies for all the squash chat then!

What is your favourite vegetable Beth?

Ahimsa 16-04-2023 08:13 PM

aha they just upset me because they're so BIG but then when you cook them so much of it is just the seeds and its disappointing and disheartening and my depression is bad anyway without being let down by vegetables.

I LOVE broccoli, thats my favourite.

Cacoethes 16-04-2023 08:13 PM

5 legged parsnip??

They probably wouldn't want to share. I'll definitely have to get two bags!

The seeds are frustrating for sure!

Brocolli is definitely in my top 5, maybe makes the top 3.

Like instead of one pointy bit there were 5 all spreading from halfway up the root. And it kind of look like it had octopus legs but obviously made of parsnip!

Just don't let them see the second bag... XD

tamobhuuta 16-04-2023 08:20 PM

Broccoli is nice, I had broccoli this evening.

Ahimsa 16-04-2023 08:47 PM

First question.

How many circles are there on a twister mat?

Pi.R^2 16-04-2023 08:58 PM

Oooooh, what a question! My guess is 24. I hope there's four colours not five otherwise my guess looks stupid.

Cacoethes 16-04-2023 09:05 PM

They will hear rustling. Can't keep anything from them shopping and kitchen wise XD

That's a very interesting question!
Who would even know that?
I think there are 4 colours?
Red, blue, green, yellow if memory serves.

Ahimsa 16-04-2023 09:11 PM

24 is correct!

Ahimsa 16-04-2023 09:12 PM

Next question!
Which chocolate bar was introduced by Rowntrees in 1976 and bought by Nestle in 1988?

nonperson 16-04-2023 09:15 PM

I'm saying 16, although that doesn't seem like much. A square mat, 4 colours, 4 players, 1 appendage on each circle...?

Pi.R^2 16-04-2023 09:15 PM

woohooo I'm winning the RYL quiz so far! Mainly by being the only person to give an answer.

Hmm, Rowntrees then nestle. Ho hum. Don't even know if it's nestle but Milky Way?

nonperson 16-04-2023 09:15 PM

Oh boo. I took too long thinking out my answer and was so wrong XD

Pi.R^2 16-04-2023 09:16 PM

I think your proposed mat would make one even more uncomfortably close to strangers than the regular mat =S

nonperson 16-04-2023 09:16 PM

Milkybar?

(The only Nestle chocolate I know?)

I thought that was the point!

Ahimsa 16-04-2023 09:21 PM

The answer is Lion bar!

Ahimsa 16-04-2023 09:21 PM

Next!

The 2013 Tour De France started on which Mediterranean island?

Pi.R^2 16-04-2023 09:43 PM

Oh goodness, I don't even know any Mediterranean islands! Golly. I guess it's near France, and I get Italy/Greece vibes from Mediterranean so... Crete? I have absolutely no idea.

Ahimsa 16-04-2023 09:47 PM

The answer is Corsica!

Next!

The Danish town of Billund is home to which world famous toy company?

nonperson 16-04-2023 09:50 PM

Lego!

Cacoethes 16-04-2023 09:59 PM

I've been to corsica! It's lovely

Ahimsa 16-04-2023 10:02 PM

Which spice gave its name to the most famous dance partner of Fred Astaire?

Ahimsa 16-04-2023 10:29 PM

Ginger!

I’ve finished the quiz now time to go home and have a cup of tea and get cosy!

Pi.R^2 16-04-2023 10:45 PM

Nooo, I knew that last one but did not get here in time!

Thanks for the quiz =D Hope you have a good rest once you're home :)

Ahimsa 16-04-2023 10:50 PM

My tea is brewing, I'm not working tomorrow and so I'm going to get some new jammies I think!

Cacoethes 17-04-2023 08:43 AM

Morning people!
Hope you enjoyed your quizzing!

New pjs are always a good idea

tamobhuuta 17-04-2023 09:47 AM

Hi Cacoethes, how's your day going?

Cacoethes 17-04-2023 09:54 AM

Not bad.
Woken up for vitals which was annoying. Had a coffee.
Just been listening to music since then.
Ward round at 11.

How are you?
Any plans for today?

tamobhuuta 17-04-2023 11:34 AM

No plans. I've washed my hair and sorted my meds boxes. I don't have enough of one of my meds :( thinking of you!

Cacoethes 17-04-2023 11:46 AM

Oh no! Can you call the pharmacy?

tamobhuuta 17-04-2023 12:04 PM

It's one I can get OTC but it had stopped working anyway so I might not bother. I need to talk to my GP about it really, but they're hard to get hold of.

Cacoethes 17-04-2023 12:06 PM

Yeah it's so hard to get into a gp these days. Worth a go though

tamobhuuta 17-04-2023 12:46 PM

I emailed them about other things a while ago and was told they would get back to me but of course that hasn't happened!

I'm really looking forward to watching doctors in an hour!

Cacoethes 17-04-2023 12:51 PM

Of course!

Hope you enjoy it

not_so_insig 17-04-2023 01:27 PM

Hello all. I am sitting here wondering what to do. Telly is crap. I might have a parcel coming tomorrow as I have ordered some new shoes and also have cpn coming tomorrow. Also have amazon coming tomorrow with an age restricted item. I had to fill in my legal name which was fun as I have an unusual spelling of my other name and my phone always autocorrects it.

tamobhuuta 17-04-2023 01:44 PM

You mean you're not watching doctors?!?!
