You work hard for your money, I think you deserve a mandalorian helmet tbh!

Indeed. I wanted to do a bushcraft course thing, but they're so expensive!

nonperson 18-03-2023 09:32 PM

Oh don't encourage me. I'd only sit at home watching tv with it on =P

Youtube is free. I'm fairly certain there will be loads of stuff on there teaching skills to survive an apocalypse XD

Cacoethes 18-03-2023 09:44 PM

Dooooo it! :tongue2:

There probably is. The only trouble is, I have the attention span of a gnat and I'm more of a learn by doing kinda person! I could give it a go though!

nonperson 18-03-2023 09:59 PM

Noooo. But yes. I would look awesome and would absolutely take the creed and never take it off again.

Yeah, same. I think survival is more based on instinct than learned skills tbh. (I've also been watching the Last Of Us and have given this a lot of thought recently...)

Also also... I've forgotten how annoying my laptop keyboard is. The V key keeps getting stuck. Who knew that was such an important letter.

Cacoethes 18-03-2023 10:05 PM

You would look awesome

That's probably true
I still need to watch that!

Ugh. That sounds super annoying.
I very rarely use a laptop these days.

nonperson 18-03-2023 10:12 PM

Oh I would look awesome for sure. >.>

I'm watching it veeeery slowly because it properly freaks me out...!

I hardly use my laptop nowadays but randomly turned it on today and after a million updates, here we are.

Cacoethes 18-03-2023 10:32 PM

I can't do anything slowly.
I'm all or nothing XD

I only use my laptop if i have to have an appointment online. Which is very rare. And i turn it on hours before the appointment in case of random updates!

Cacoethes 19-03-2023 09:25 AM

Morning everyone

tamobhuuta 19-03-2023 11:21 AM

Morning Cacoethes, how are you?

Cacoethes 19-03-2023 11:28 AM

Bit upset.
It's mother's day and i didn't even get a card.
Affected me more than I thought it would
Oh well. We move on.

How are you?

tamobhuuta 19-03-2023 11:48 AM

I'm sorry, that really sucks. *hugs* if wanted. I hope you can be extra specially kind to yourself today.

I am ok. Covid free so going to Mass later. And I'm looking forward to organising my paperwork once my folder arrives.

Cacoethes 19-03-2023 11:53 AM

Thank you <3
I'm just gonna get on with my usual Sunday stuff.
Pilates, cleaning, dye hair, washing etc.

Yay for being covid free!
Hope you enjoy mass

one_step_closer 19-03-2023 02:08 PM

I'm sorry you didn't get a card, Beckie. :(

Sending love to all Mums to humans and Mums to animals and people who find Mothers day hard.

I'm glad you're covid free now Tamo. I hope you enjoy mass and get your paperwork sorted and feel accomplished.

Remember Sunday is RYL bedding change day, Beckie. I've already done mine.

Cacoethes 19-03-2023 02:37 PM

Thanks <3

Yup, stripped the bed this morning! Just need to put fresh ones on later.

one_step_closer 19-03-2023 03:29 PM

I prefer to get it all done in the one go. How is your day going?

I just got a phone call from a number I didn't recognise (obviously didn't answer! Sometimes don't answer first time to a number I do know!) They left a voicemail in a different language. I've never had that before.

Cacoethes 19-03-2023 03:36 PM

Not bad. Just cleaned out boys. Now gonna dye hair, chill while it's doing its thing and then get on with a quick house clean.

Weird..maybe they got the wrong number?

one_step_closer 19-03-2023 03:45 PM

Is your hair going to be the same colour or different?

I was more thinking it was a new way for Sadako from The Ring to kill me since I don't have a VHS player!

nonperson 19-03-2023 03:49 PM

Afternoon all.

I'm part way through my Sunday bedding change. Gonna put a new purple duvet cover on and swap to a brand new duvet as well. Luxury at its finest. =)

one_step_closer 19-03-2023 03:51 PM

Hey, NP. Have missed you.

I'm glad you're going to be having a luxurious bed. I hope it helps you sleep well and is nice and comfy and cosy.

Cacoethes 19-03-2023 03:55 PM

Same. Purple.
Waiting for it to develop now.
Always surprises me how much i get out of one small pot of dye. When i first ordered them, I got 2 as my hair is below shoulder length, and i didn't think 2 would be enough, but just 1 was plenty!

That's a bit dark lindsay XD

Oooh sounds lovely np!
Purple is my favourite colour.

nonperson 19-03-2023 03:56 PM

Howdy Lindsay <3

I bought new pillows a few weeks ago too. It makes a big difference having new stuff. What would really help to make a comfy sleeping zone would be to actually paint my room... but currently I'm looking at new curtains. I keep coming across some made from old saris that look really cool.

one_step_closer 19-03-2023 03:57 PM

How long does it take to develop? I do like your purple hair.

one_step_closer 19-03-2023 03:58 PM

Are you re-doing your whole bedroom, NP? It would be great to have a nice peaceful place to go.

Cacoethes 19-03-2023 04:04 PM

I bought new pillows when I got my bed.
Does make a massive difference!

Only 30 mins. But i usually leave it on 10 mins longer. It most likely doesn't make a difference, but i do it anyway!
Thank you!

tamobhuuta 19-03-2023 04:09 PM

My file divider came and I sorted out all my paperwork and it's amazing!

Cacoethes 19-03-2023 04:15 PM

Getting things sorted is always a nice feeling

tamobhuuta 19-03-2023 04:33 PM

How's your hair getting on Cacoethes?

Not really. I agree it would be nice to have a peaceful place to go but ultimately I am lazy and decorating is scary so I'll just Google things for now.

one_step_closer 19-03-2023 05:25 PM

It took me ages to find pillows that don't hurt my neck. I just have one memory foam one now but have three assorted other ones on my bed to fill it up. I take my pillow when I'm admitted to hospital.

Well done, Tamo. You're a professional! It's nice to get things all sorted and in their place.

You can just imagine things for now, NP. I haven't ever redecorated or anything since I moved here and don't think I could be bothered now.

Cacoethes 19-03-2023 05:55 PM

Hair is now bright purple again! :-D

And I have also done all my things. So I can chill now.
Actually made pretty good time.

one_step_closer 19-03-2023 06:19 PM

Good stuff, Beckie. I always think things will take me longer to do than they actually do. What are you going to do with your chill time?

Cacoethes 19-03-2023 06:32 PM

Yeah.
I was feeling so overwhelmed this morning because it seemed like a lot. Even though it's my normal sunday, aside from dyeing hair. And I don't usually get overwhelmed by it.

Probably just continue watching torchwood.
Need to feed the boys also.
And myself.

Zurg 19-03-2023 07:33 PM

Evening all :)

I had a bit of a lousy morning that messed up my entire routine to start the day. But i went on to being busy. Mostly to avoid thinking too much or paying too much attention to my emotions….

You've all been amazingly cool today and achieved lots of stuff!!!

NP, i've found in the event of entering into a bit of unknown diy-territory that googling any kind of process is a big help!!!

Also, i want purple hair!!!! :D

Cacoethes 19-03-2023 07:52 PM

Hey zurg!

Sorry you had a bad morning.
Sounds like you managed it though, so well done!

Purple hair is the best! If I do say so myself :-D

Ahimsa 19-03-2023 08:13 PM

Agreed that purple hair is the best.

Cacoethes 19-03-2023 08:15 PM

I'm glad you agree!

nonperson 19-03-2023 08:17 PM

Purple anything is the best.

Well done on being busy yourself, Zurg. Sometimes keeping occupied is the best thing to be doing, even if not the most restful.

Also if googling DIY stuff equates to knowledge and experience then I am a highly proficient (bordering on professional) DIYer! I've got the skills when I put my mind to it, just not often the effort for long winded, disruptive and messy projects like painting rooms.

Ahimsa 19-03-2023 08:19 PM

That's very true Non-Person, my new car is purple!

Cacoethes 19-03-2023 08:23 PM

True!

I'm hopeless at any kind of diy stuff.
My neighbour is great at things like that though.

nonperson 19-03-2023 08:39 PM

A purple car... *swoon* =o

long road 19-03-2023 09:02 PM

*waves* My parents have gone home so I am back!
Had a good couple of days with them here but it's nice to have some time to ourselves again now.

Cacoethes 19-03-2023 09:05 PM

Helloo!
Glad you had a nice couple of days :)

long road 19-03-2023 09:24 PM

Managed to not be too symptomatic while they were here. No dissociative seizures for last 5 days.

Managed to go to the seaside twice!

Got a doctor's appointment tomorrow I am a bit nervous about

Cacoethes 19-03-2023 09:39 PM

Sounds successful!
I can't remember the last time I went to the seaside. Or where i last went to the seaside!
Possibly Brighton last year.

Hope it goes well.

Its beautiful!!!

Yay on the no seizure front Long Road!

long road 20-03-2023 01:03 AM

I live 20 minutes drive from the closest beach and can get to another 2 or 3 within 30-40 minutes. So we go to the seaside quite a bit (my partner drives as I don't have a licence). I grew up in England's most land locked county though!

Thanks Ahimsa! I am pretty happy with it. Longest ever streak since I started having them is 3 weeks, maybe I will get there again this time!

Cacoethes 20-03-2023 08:41 AM

That's cool :)

Morning everyone!

tamobhuuta 20-03-2023 11:52 AM

Morning Cacoethes, how are you?

long road 20-03-2023 12:25 PM

Morning Beckie and Tamo,

I am nervously waiting for my GP appointment that was meant to be 10 minutes ago.

Cacoethes 20-03-2023 12:28 PM

Morning.
Not sure how i am.

Hope your gp appointment goes ok.
GPs are often late.
Which is sometimes a good sign, means they don't just kick you out after 5 mins and will actually spend time sorting stuff. In my experience anyway.
