No it's not an one off as other people have complained on the reviews section of amazon that theirs wasn't sealed. Probably an environmental issue. Besides the Christmas special came out after Series 10 so you would think if it were a batch issue they would seal it Lindsay.
All new dvds should be sealed. I bought the new Downton Abbey film and that was sealed. I received a Doctor Who dvd from Lorraine for Christmas and that was sealed too. |
I often wish i had more space. But i'd probably just use it to store things that really should be thrown out or given to charity and then end up with too much stuff and not being able to overcome sorting them out….
I have a storage room in the basement. All the flats in my block have one. It's pretty nice but you've Got to waterproof your stuff. The drainpipes from the roof send the rain down through the basement into the sewer and the pipes aren't made to handle the kind of showers that have come after clima changes began kicking in. My room has been flooded more than once. I went out and bought a ton of plastic storage boxes after the first time XD The chihuahua wanted to eat Findus!!! Rude!!! Findus Got scared by all the barking and growling so we fled my place with angry small doggo. But Findus refused to come out and greet me when i came back. He is very cross with me for allowing such a feisty creature into his kingdom!!!! |
King Findus feels his territory has been invaded! Perhaps you can coax him out with a carrot?
I have a storage shed outside its in a bank of sheds made from brick with a flat roof, ( I mostly use it for garden stuff like lawn mower, strimmer and garden chairs). We had to build a raised floor as the water kept coming under the door. Roof is mostly leak free. We also have a cupboard that is also outside (first and second floor flats have them inside next to their front doors). We just got a lock for it as people had dumped rubbish in it ( we had been meaning to clean it out and use it to store a few things for a while but hadn't got round to it). |
I guess the aim is reducing completely unnecessary plastic packaging. They could put a sticker over the opening as an alternative
Saving the planet is more important imo |
I'm glad you've had a treat, Jen. Wasn't the Wensleydale and cranberry sandwich too hard to eat? Or did you put some cranberry or other sauce on it. I can't eat cheese sandwiches with just cheese in them.
I don't listen to music much, I really should change that. I used to listen while I was walking outside for whatever reason but now there are scary but important things I need to listen out for. I also used to listen to music when I was washing my hair but my extractor fan is broken and I have to open the window. I sometimes put my headphones on when I'm hoovering. Bad dog, driving you out of your own home! I hope Findus has recovered. Saving the planet is very important! We used unnecessary paper in Blockbuster when putting money in envelopes. We had paper with amounts of money on it and we hard to write how much of each was in the envelope and staple it on when it could be just written on the envelope instead of the paper. |
Well I had butter in the sandwich. I find normal/ plain cheese (e.g. cheddar, double Gloucester, Wensleydale, brie) too much on its own in a sandwich and add chutney ( currently spiced pear and apple but usually red onion). But as this Wensleydale has cranberries in I find the cranberries breaks up the cheeseyness enough with added moisture from the butter.
I listen to music to rest in the house sometimes. Today I put on an album and listened to the whole thing with my noise cancelling headphones on. Still tired though. Considering trying a meditation in a minute. Hopefully you can find a time in your day or week to listen to music. |
Is anyone else getting a pop up from the bottom of the screen when first coming on RYL?
|
Ninja Jen, again!
That makes sense. What music do you like? What kind of meditation do you do? |
I like lots of different kinds of music. Some of my favourite artists to listen to are Frank Turner, The Longest John's, Walk Off The Earth, Taylor Swift, Bastille, Florence and the Machine and Linkin Park. So a bit of folk, rock, pop and alternative.
|
Do the different genres affect you in different ways?
|
Maybe I think it's more about the lyrics than the genre to me for how it effects me. Sometimes it's good to have ones that speak to me and how I feel, other times ones that are lyrically complex so they distract me or that make me sing along and lift my mood.
Plus there is the added memories for certain bands a Walk Off The Earth Concert was one of my first dates with my partner of nearly 10 years now as I had a spare ticket because a friend flaked on me. Kind of grateful my friend flaked on me now! And I do guided mindfulness meditations. Body scans or breathing or grounding ones usually about find peace in your own body sort of thing. I find guided ones are easier as my mind wonders less with some instruction. |
I've had hip pain all day.
I'M TOO YOUNG FOR HIP PAIN!!!! D: |
Pain sucks. If it makes you feel better I get back pain and I am younger than you!
|
It has only been the last few days. Annoying!
|
Maybe you pulled something at one of your many exercisey things?
|
I may have done!
It's ok when I'm sitting comfortably. Standing up or on a dining chair is not good though! I just volunteered to clean the microwave. It's high up so mum can't reach XD And it was gross. So i couldn't just leave it XD |
What a good daughter you are! I shall avoid imagining how nasty it had got...
|
Haha! It's also rather old and rusty inside!
It was actually quite satisfying to clean |
Morning everyone!
|
Morning! How are you?
|
Morning!
I'm ok. Home now. My mum helped me clip the guinea pig's nails before she set off! How are you? |
Afternoon everyone.
How are you all? What are you getting up to? Yay for free nail clipping! Do they need clipped regularly? |
Roughly every 6-8 weeks for nail clipping!
I'm not up to much. Just put lunch in the oven and doing washing. Also need to do a spot clean of the boy's cage and change bedsheets and shower. But mostly it's a rest day! How about you? |
I got outside for the second day in a row. And while there I sat and weeded two of my plant pots so only the plants I am trying to grow are in there. The tulips are starting to sprout and the buddleia has got its first new leaves. Hopefully daffodils will sprout soon too.
|
Awesome! Well done you!
I hate gardening. I have some growing mint on my kitchen windowsill for the pigs! And I even forget to water that! |
Did we have additional members join RYL bedding change day or is it just you and me, Beckie?
Well done, Jen. It must be nice to see the flowers when they're in bloom. I've still got my forget me not seeds to plant but I don't think they've to be planted yet according to the packet. I'd love to have a nice garden but my neighbour tends to it so I can't do much. The council cuts my grass too plus I couldn't look after my garden, it's so huge. |
I can't remember!
My neighbour cuts my grass. I don't have an enclosed garden. Just some grass out the front. Going to get a run for the guinea pigs to go out in the summer. I'll have to sit with them though! |
That sounds like fun. I wonder what they'll think of being outside.
|
I think they'll enjoy it! Will probably be too busy stuffing their faces with grass XD
|
I was about to ask if they ate grass. You've got a free food source there!
|
Yep! Apparently they love it.
|
Yay grass for the guineas!!!!
I have a big back garden with a low fence around it although it's not completely private as the other flats overlook it. It's mostly a patch of grass but I am slowly adding plants in pots. So far I have one pot with tulip bulbs in from last year and one pot with daffodil bulbs. A pot of geraniums and a small buddleia my mum grew from a cutting of the bush in my childhood home's garden and gave to me. I am planning on repotting the buddleia before spring. I have a concrete planter out front that is currently full of weeds that I would like to make another attempt at planting something in. Every time I have planted it out so far the neighbourhood cats have dug up the plants. The bare earth in the concrete planter seems to be appealing as a giant litter tray! So I am thinking of going for some slightly spiky shrubs this time! I am not great at gardening, but I used to garden with my grandad and I am trying to learn as it brings good memories. |
Maybe your neighbour won't have to cut your grass so much then, Beckie!
That's a lovely reason to try and learn gardening, Jen. I hope it's successful or even if it's just getting you outside with a purpose that's good. |
That's a really lovely reason to be gardening! :)
My mum has an amazing garden. I think she hired a pro though! Though she does tend to it herself. It's paradise in the summer. So bright and most of the flowers/bushes attract lots of bees and butterflies! One of the dogs does like to dig in the soil a bit though! Quite possibly lindsay! |
Sounds really nice, although possibly there's a lot of pollen about so I'll have to turn down her offer when she asks me to visit!
|
Yes probably a great deal of pollen!
None of us are particularly affected by pollen thankfully! Would be a nightmare if we were! Jas doesn't particularly like the garden because she's scared of most insects. Oh, today a bird flew into their kitchen window (one side of the kitchen/dining room is all floor to ceiling windows and sliding doors) and i looked and all i saw was a puff of feathers! It was like a cartoon! The bird was fine, just a bit stunned! |
Poor bird. I've experienced that a couple of times. Gave me a huge fright with the bang!
|
Yes it was quite a shock!
Mum said it happens quite often. Sometimes they just lay on the floor, stunned, for a bit. But this one flew off! |
Greetings all! Have been absent for a bit but have just sorted through all the post reports that piled up in my absence (many of which are troll reports from the usual suspects :P).
How is everyone today? |
Evening Jenna!
Haha! Do not envy you I am eagerly and somewhat impatiently awaiting a tesco delivery. It is meant to be coming between 5-9pm. How are you doing? |
Ooh, tesco delivery! Hope it comes soon - anything exciting in your order?
I'm OK thanks. Bit of woe fest, but cracking on. About to make vegan mac 'n' cheese =D |
I just checked the app and apparently they estimate delivery time now which is helpful!
Don't know when they started doing that, been sooo long since I've had a delivery! It's 6 stops away and is estimated to be here between 8:15-8:45. I do have some tasty things in there! Also lots of veggies and herbs for the pigs! Sorry to hear about woe fest. Vegan mac and cheese sounds great though! |
Anyone see a weird pop up on the home page? I just go a random advert for DND beyond with shady looking links. Don't worry I didn't click anythig
|
Nope!
I'm on my phone though. Don't know if that makes a difference! |
I am on my phone too. Never seen ads on home page before so it weirded me out.
In other news I tried a new Chinese takeaway tonight and it was really good quality. |
That is weird!
That's good! I haven't had a chinese in ages. Too expensive for just me! I have had my tesco delivery though! My fridge, freezer and cupboards have never been so full! |
Hmm, that’s weird Jen (ok with your name on here?). Feel free to screenshot any further shenanigans and whatsapp them to me for investigation!
Has your tesco delivery arrived Beckie? |
Yay full cupboards are awesome. Hope you have some tasty treats for you and the guinea pigs!
I have takeaway more than I should, we can afford it but I would rather not spend as much as I do on it. It's the only way my partner gets a night off cooking though and sometimes caring for me can be a lot for him to deal with so it's nice to give him a break. And it was delicious! I |
Ninja Jenna QK
I am cool with my first name. On here. Will go back and see if it is still there to screenshot. |
Yes it has!
I do have many tasty things I think if you can afford it then why not?! |
