Hi Jenna, nice to see you. I don't know what a pancake pan is either other than those ones you get with Peppa pig or something etched into them to make the design go on the pancake.

Pi.R^2 29-01-2023 06:35 PM

Ooh, peppa pig pancakes! I did some investigating and found an overpriced Percy Pig pancake pan but it provided no jpgs of how the pancakes allegedly turn out.

Cacoethes 29-01-2023 06:42 PM

I have a ridiculously massive frying pan
I ordered a normal sized one, but it was substituted for a giant one (it's waaaay too big to fit on any of the rings!) And for some reason i didn't send it back.
That was a few years ago.
So i just have to try and cook everything in the centre of the pan because the edges aren't over the hob.

one_step_closer 29-01-2023 07:08 PM

I think you need a small pan to make pancakes.

Does that mean no food goes over the edge and onto the cooker, if you're just using the middle, Beckie? That would be a win. I have a wok that was reduced in price because it's wobbly and one part of it only hovers over the ring.

Cacoethes 29-01-2023 07:26 PM

No food goes over the edge anyway!
I don't really cook much tbh
Only use it for my protein pancakes!

Does it still work just hovering??

one_step_closer 29-01-2023 07:28 PM

When I use a frying pan I end up with some food over the edge!

The wok still works, I don't use it any more though.

Like you I don't really cook much.

Cacoethes 29-01-2023 07:36 PM

Don't think that's ever happened!
Well, apart from when I used to make jumbalaya. The pan got VERY full!
Worth the mess though!

I've been binge watching walking dead and Disney + has been doing this thing where it won't remember the episode I'm on and put me a few episodes back.
Problem with that is, I have a very short attention span so although i feel like I MAY have watched this bit before, I really can't know for sure.

Zurg 29-01-2023 08:11 PM

Woop, woop!!! I finished the laundry AND made AND consumed pancakes :P
That was yummy and very much required after a very busy day.
Now my kitchen Will reek of pancakes the next 4 or 5 days.
Still worth it!!!

My wee Findus has flopped on the carpet. He should be content because he has been nomming snacks and vegetables all day. My mum came by this afternoon and she spoils him rotten. Tbf he is the closest thing to a grandchild she Will ever have XD

Dawn, please report back to us how your very first pancake adventure plays out!!! And enjoy them!!! :)

Cacoethes 29-01-2023 08:22 PM

Wooo well done!
There are worse things for a kitchen to reek of!

Aww!
My mum has a parsley plant in her garden and has offered unlimited parsely for her grandpiggies! And always digs out some veg from her fridge for them!

nonperson 29-01-2023 09:15 PM

Pancake mix is the worst. Just saying.

Cacoethes 29-01-2023 09:20 PM

That is quite the controversial opinion to just drop in here :tongue2:

nonperson 29-01-2023 09:27 PM

No more controversial than liking ham and pineapple on pizza. Or finding coffee and coke vomit-inducing.

But honestly, pancakes have three ingredients and are so much better when made yourself.

Cacoethes 29-01-2023 09:34 PM

Ohhh i thought you were dissing pancakes in general.
Totally understand the pancake mix thing then!
Apart from the protein pancakes, i don't think I've ever had pancakes made with a ready made mix.
My mum is a very 'everything must be from scratch' kinda person.

nonperson 29-01-2023 09:49 PM

Ohh, no not at all. If I can buy stuff pre-made I generally do (because lazy, dislike cooking), but there are some things that shouldn't be compromised on, such as pancakes.

Cacoethes 29-01-2023 09:57 PM

I'm a bit like that with cakes.
I won't buy pre made cake mix!

nonperson 29-01-2023 10:02 PM

Yep! Luckily I know enough people who make excellent cakes so that I don't have to =P

Cacoethes 29-01-2023 10:21 PM

Haha!
Excellent!
I've been making banana bread recently. You can't really buy it anywhere and i crave it a lot!
The recipe is basically just 140g of everything. So easy!

Cacoethes 30-01-2023 09:48 AM

Morning everyone

tamobhuuta 30-01-2023 12:01 PM

Morning, how are you?

Cacoethes 30-01-2023 12:07 PM

Morning!
I am feeling odd this morning.
Quite light headed and spinny. And muscles keep tensing/twitching and i have a headache!
But have to leave for work in a bit.

How are you?

Zurg 30-01-2023 12:32 PM

Maybe you should call in sick, Beckie?? Sometimes these things just get worse if you push yourself too hard. Have you had anything to eat or drink???

Elmer 30-01-2023 01:05 PM

Hope you feel a bit better soon, Beckie. Seconding what Zurg said, remember to eat and drink!

I used to be a packet mix snob but I've discovered some really good packet mixes lately and it's just so much less time consuming!

one_step_closer 30-01-2023 01:29 PM

I hope you're ok, Beckie. Put yourself first, you don't want to be overdoing it.

I never make packet mix stuff but I don't cook things from scratch either! What packet mixes do you like? How are you today?

How are you, Kat?

tamobhuuta 30-01-2023 01:35 PM

I agree with everyone else Cacoethes!

What are you making Elmer?

How are you Zurg and osc?

one_step_closer 30-01-2023 01:37 PM

Hi, Tamo. I'm a bit mixed, nothing terrible anyway but who knows how long that will last.

How are you?

tamobhuuta 30-01-2023 01:40 PM

Sorry to hear that :(

I'm doing ok, looking forward to watching doctors.

Zurg 30-01-2023 02:19 PM

I'm okay. I did my grocery shopping earlier and i suppose that might have been a bit too much because i ended up sweating like mad and feeling a bit rubbish. But i feel better now after having been home and relaxing a while. Pondering finding some lunch soon….

I usually cook from scratch. When i grew up that was just the Way my mum always did and i guess i've just kept on doing it, myself. Also, in Denmark it is usually a bit more expensive to buy things that are ready-made.
I want to take the plunge into going vegetarian but i feel scared about telling friends and family. I have some people in my life that have a really hard time dealing with people going off meat. It's like they feel it's a personal critism of their own choices…. Which it isn't. I just really don't want all the drama :(

I just feel worse and worse about eating meat. It makes me sad. But the prospect of constant conflicts over food for the next considerable amount of time is not really appealing either….

not_so_insig 30-01-2023 02:27 PM

I am waiting for my tesco shopping order. Plus evri. 5 items substituted and 7 unavailable. I suspect that I will be sending at least 1 back as I am pretty sure that I ticked no substitutes and they substituted it. One of the unavailable items was whisky. I dont believe that tesco doesn't have any whisky which is annoying af.

not_so_insig 30-01-2023 02:36 PM

Evri have been. Now just waiting for tesco.

one_step_closer 30-01-2023 03:38 PM

Did you enjoy Doctors, Tamo? Doing anything else nice with your day?

Well done with getting your shopping done, Kat. I was too lazy to go to Tesco this morning. I'm glad you were able to do things that helped you feel better afterwards.

You shouldn't have to push aside what you want to do, Kat. I'm sorry you might not have support around your decision.

7 unavailable things! That's a lot. Will you have to buy them elsewhere, Dawn?

tamobhuuta 30-01-2023 04:47 PM

I did enjoy doctors :) having tea now with sis and Dad.

not_so_insig 30-01-2023 05:28 PM

Tesco came rather late. The driver did apologise though. I sent one thing back however.

No Lindsay I won't be buying them elsewhere as it's nothing that can't wait until the next order and I have some whisky.

one_step_closer 30-01-2023 05:57 PM

Do you have a favourite character in Doctors, Tamo?

Do you regularly order from Tesco, Dawn?

not_so_insig 30-01-2023 06:03 PM

I have an tesco shopping order once a fortnight Lindsay.

one_step_closer 30-01-2023 06:04 PM

That's good planning. I usually get a delivery when I run low on cat litter and I get it in bulk along with other things I need. Tesco never usually has the cat litter I use so I get deliveries from Asda.

Cacoethes 30-01-2023 07:58 PM

Hey guys!
I made it through the day!
I had porridge for breakfast which is quite substantial so unsure why i am feeling odd.
Making dinner now!
Will try and book a gp appointment tomorrow

Cacoethes 31-01-2023 09:28 AM

Morning everyone!

tamobhuuta 31-01-2023 12:11 PM

Morning Cacoethes, how are you?

Cacoethes 31-01-2023 12:13 PM

Buenos dias!

I'm tired. Have a GP appointment at 4:45 about all the weirdness so I'll just be dying of boredom until then!

How are you?

one_step_closer 31-01-2023 12:16 PM

Morning everyone.

How are you, Tamo? Any plans for today?

That's quite a late appointment, Beckie. I hate having so much time to fill before appointments etc. It can be hard to occupy yourself. What are you going to get up to?

Cacoethes 31-01-2023 12:26 PM

It can!
I think I might do some cleaning. Not really much to do but it's something!

How are you?

one_step_closer 31-01-2023 12:35 PM

Do it very slowly!

I'm still a bit of a mix. Got the gym group today. Someone is writing us a harder circuit so I hope it's not too hard and we can still do our usual pausing and chatting and having a laugh.

Cacoethes 31-01-2023 12:44 PM

Haha!
I'm not good at doing things slowly :p

Hope it goes ok!
I'm sure you'll still be able to chat!

tamobhuuta 31-01-2023 12:50 PM

Have fun cleaning Cacoethes...

I hope you have a good time working hard at the gym osc.

I need to do laundry and I might go over the road to get some bitesize chocolates.

Zurg 31-01-2023 01:03 PM

I approve of chocolates, Tamo!!! :)

I hate having late appointments on days where you have nothing to do. It's like a legit test of patience and i always fail by going all frustrated and grumpy after the first few hours…. I hope you can handle it better than me Beckie.

I hope gym group Will be nice, Lindsay. If it should be too rough on you, i'll advise you all to gather forces in a riot. Demand the slow and steady pace back into excercise!!! Society already moves Way too fast for our general health.

Cacoethes 31-01-2023 01:06 PM

Ooooh chocolate!
What are you thinking of getting?

Yep, very annoying!
I am already frustrated. And I've been irritable for like a week now so already grumpy XD
At least the piggies cheer me up!

Zurg 31-01-2023 02:36 PM

Yes!!!! Pets are always very handy and quite neccessary too in the event of a bad mood <3

If i feel particulary rubbish i grab a few treats for Findus and while he inhales them ;) i sniff his very soft and bunny-ish fur. That is a wonderful Way to instantly feel better :D

Cacoethes 31-01-2023 02:43 PM

Yes definitely!
Merry isn't a fan of cuddles and won't eat from my hand. But Pippin will happily scoff down some herbs during cuddles!

tamobhuuta 31-01-2023 04:10 PM

I'm not sure what I'll get, I'll see what they have.

Hurray for snuggles!

Cacoethes 31-01-2023 06:55 PM

Decided I'm having a pirates of the caribbean marathon
