I hope so too. It's swings and roundabouts really in December I had my longest period dissociative seizure free. Just in a bit of a spiral and not sure how to get out of it.
How has your day been? |
Has it been like this before? Can you think of anything that helped in the past? If you need to rest then that's ok. I really hope you can get to a more comfortable place soon.
My day has been a bit of a struggle but just getting on with it. |
It has been bad before and it's been worse than this as well. Finding it hard to think what I was doing differently etc. when had good period. Partly I think resting and taking things gently is very important it's just frustrating. I think before Christmas I was in a more positive mindset so looking after myself was easier / I had better motivation and less negative emotions to trigger me. Holding out some hope for final therapy review next week to help me back onto right track.
Sorry to hear it's been a bit of a struggle today but well done for keeping going through it. In more positive news I am enjoying watching Australian survivor. It's a bit of a guilty pleasure as it's a reality show bit it has fun challenges and interesting game theory play. |
I hope your therapy review helps. Do whatever safe things you have to do right now.
What kind of challenges does the show have? It's good you have something you enjoy watching. |
It has puzzles and physical challenges ( strength or endurance or throwing etc).
In the beginning of the game they are split into two teams (known as tribes). There are two types of challenges reward and immunity. The tribe that loses the immunity challenge each episode go to tribal council and vote people out. Once it becomes an individual game everyone goes to tribal but only the person who wins challenge is immune. In early game a lot of them are some sort of team obstacle course with a puzzle or throwing challenge at the end..Later on there are who can balance the longest, hang onto a pole the longest, build a tower to the top first, sort of challenges. |
Hey everyone!
Sorry not ignoring people but I'm exhausted and can't take in that many posts! XD It was a very busy day and for most of it I was kinda on the bar on my own but it's all good! I didn't get to pee for the whole shift XD |
Well done surviving Cacoethes! What are you doing to relax tonight?
I'm queueing for meds. |
Thanks!
I am watching encanto! Queueing for meds is the absolute worst thing in hospital! Genuinely! |
Morning everyone!
|
Morning Beckie :)
…. With every morning i feel like i'm more and more sleep deprived. Which is rather inconvenient. How are you today, Beckie?? Any plans for the day??? |
Morning people.
|
Hi Tamo :)
How are you?? |
Oh no! Can you nap today?
I didn't want to get up this morning! But I had taekwondo. Then going to mum's until tomorrow How are you both? |
I'm ok, managed to get up at 9.10! I'm going home for a few hours this afternoon.
I hope you have fun Cacoethes. How are you Zurg? |
Hope you have a good time!
My first bus is running late. Which means I'll most likely miss the connection for 2nd bus and will have to wait an hour :plain: |
Gargh! Frustrating. Are you looking forward to seeing your mum?
|
I actually woke up in the morning this morning! (10:30am but still). Hope this is the start of a bit better sleeping pattern. Not feeling 100% but a load better than last couple of days.
Sleep deprivation sucks Zurg. Hope you have a nice cup of coffee and can take it easy today. Eurgh! to bus running late Beckie. It sucks when you miss a connection. Hope where you have to wait isn't too boring Enjoy your home leve Tamo |
I'm glad you're feeling better long road :)
|
Even more frustratingly, got here 10 mins after 2nd bus is meant to leave, so i went to the toilet, came out and saw my 2nd bus just leaving. If i hadn't gone to the toilet, i would have caught it. Ffs. Now sitting having a hot chocolate i can't afford.
That's good news jen! Glad you're feeling better :) |
Double eurgh that is really frustrating. Is it at least a tasty hot chocolate?
Thanks Beckie and Tamo, I am still taking it slow but hoping day will be ok. Might have to have a nap in a bit. |
A nap is never a bad idea, Jen!!! I am a huge fan of naps, myself :)
I did the laundry. And maybe i have financially gone bankrupt from having the dryer run for more than an hour (close to an hour and a half, actually…!!!) That thing is an expensive lady!!! Which is why i never check how much i've spent every month doing laundry. I don't need that sort of negativity in my life…. Hope going home for a while Will be nice, Tamo :) And Beckie, in the occasion of being screwed over by public transport, a hot cocoa is certainly more than justified!!!! |
Do you have smart meters in your country zurg? They tell you how much each appliance costs to run and how much you are spending per month. They send an automated meter reading to your supplier so that you get an accurate bill each month. We have them in the UK but not everyone has them. They're pushing to have them in the UK but you can legally refuse to have one.
|
I seem to run the washing machine so much these days!
Justified maybe. As it is -2! But an expense i could do without |
Hi everyone. I wasn't up when I wanted to be up but got all my housework done.
So much to catch up with here. I hope you're all having an ok day at least. |
Well done for doing the housework!
My house desperately needs a good clean! I'm nearly at mum's. Thankfully this bus actually goes through their village (road) so I'll have a 5 min walk instead of 20 mins |
L is very kindly picking me up but she hasn't texted me to say she's on her way yet. So I'm watching doctor who :)
|
That's good, Beckie. I hope you have a nice day.
I hope you also have a nice day, Tamo. |
What are you up to osc?
|
Trying to stay warm! I read yesterday that the government advises you to have your heating on at 18 degrees so I did that yesterday but changed it back to the way I had it at 16.5 degrees because my smart meter was telling me the gas needed topped up.
|
I don't know what our heating is set to. But we have a fire in the living room and I'm wearing an oodie and got a blanket.
|
You sound toasty. I have a cat on my lap so I'm getting a bit of heat.
|
My mum's house is always super warm even without heating! In fact, one of the kitchen sliding doors is wide open because it's too hot!
|
Is it annoying in the summer?
|
Very! Like a greenhouse! The south facing side is all glass. Pretty unbearable in summer!
|
Kitty cuddles
|
Yay kittys! I would quite like a kitty but I dont know if I am allergic or if I could handle looking after a pet as I have never had one. I love a good sofa snuggle under a blanket Tamo, did you have a good leave?
I have my heating at 18 most of the time but boost it occassionally as the thermostat is in the warmest part of the flat (the hall) so other rooms can be too cold even if thermostat says it 18. I have to keep my flat at 18 or above as cold air triggers my asthma which can be a bit expensive. But the risk ending up in A&E with an asthma attack isnt worth the pennies saved. I had a nice nap this afternoon and when I woke up felt well enough to spend some time out of bed and socialising with partners parents who popped over. |
Yeah definitely don't wanna be ending up in a&e!
Asthma attacks look scary! That's good to hear :) I'm just chilling with jas She's currently filming a makeup tutorial :eyeroll: |
Asthma attacks are rather scary, I didn't realise how great breathing was until I couldn't breathe properly. They also feel ridiculously dramatic, like I know I am not doing it on purpose but I don't like being the centre of attention :whistling:
Is she doing her own makeup or doing makeup on you? Must be nice to have an opportunity to hang out. I am terrible at makeup. Does she post it to the social medias or just do it for fun? |
I get that. I've felt similar feelings coming round from seizures. Especially at work!
I've experienced feeling like I've not been able to breathe when I've had oxygen masks on. Which seems weird. Because surely that's meant to help?? Her own makeup! She posts it to her friends on snapchat i think. And/or tiktok. Her accounts are all set to private obvs! I'm also terrible at makeup tbh. I can do foundation, mascara and eyeliner. That's my limit! And i only do foundation if I'm going out out. Which isn't often! I wear eyeliner and mascara to work. |
Yeah I can understand that. I haven't had an asthma attack at work but I had to be escorted out of the learning resource centre at uni by paramedics. Twas super awkward. I also have seizures now although mine are non epileptic so not dangerous (not that an outsider knows that) I haven't been out without someone who knows yet because I am scared of public overreacting.
I guess the oxygen mask thing is because they can feel kind of claustrophobic, the oxygen helps but the mask makes you panic a bit? Glad her accounts are all private. Better than under 18 me posting on here and going to meet strangers off the internet in London... what kind of fancy stuff does she do? Last time I wore any makeup was for a wedding I went to. I gave up on mascara because it always got on my glasses. Occassionally wear foundation and or eye shadow and that is it. Glad I am not the only one terrible at makeup |
The public do tend to panic!
I think that's probably it! Ha! Yeah exactly! She has like moisturiser and highlighters and stuff! |
I assume highlighters are like light foundation stuff and not the pens I used to use at school to annotate stuff...
|
Yeah something like that!
Morning everyone! |
Morning Beckie.
How is life??? I have a bad feeling about this day. It is most unsettling :( |
Morning! I hope your day is better than it feels Zurg. How are you Cacoethes?
|
Morning everyone!
Sorry to hear that Zurg is there anything you can try to help you feel more settled? Sometimes grounding techniques help me. I fell last night and hurt my arm. Luckily doesn't seem serious but I didnt sleep well and I am generally feeling a bit eurgh. Then again I haven't been awake long so hopefully the day will get better. How are you Tamo? |
I tried going for a short walk. It's one of those days when i haven't slept Well, everything in my body hurts and the world seems all doom and gloom. They happen surprisingly often and i always end up ****ing around all day with no clue how to make it better. Should probably eat something as i haven't really yet….
Sorry you fell, Jen :( some days it's just one thing after another. I hope you can be kind to yourself and relax a bit. Hi Tamo. How are you?? |
I hear you, Zurg not sleeping and being in pain makes everything harder and makes it more difficult to see the good in life. Do you have anything you could do to help the pain? I find heat helps me sometimes so maybe a hot shower or heat packs? Eating definitely sounds a good idea.
I am going to try and finish my Lego colosseum. It's the largest Lego set ever made and I have been building it off and on for almost two years. Not that it should take that long but I have tended to build in spurts and then something comes up and I don't build for month. I am on stage 38 out of 40. It's been a load of fun Nd after I finish I have a Lego bonsai tree to build! |
Sorry to hear people aren't great!
I hope your days improve <3 That sounds like a pretty epic build! |
Hugs for all who want them.
I'm going home soon for a bit, planning to go to church. |
