Hi everyone.

What are you all doing with the rest of the day?

Hi, good to see you too

Cacoethes 30-11-2022 09:35 AM

Morning everyone!

not_so_insig 30-11-2022 10:19 AM

Morning all. How's things going Beckie?

Cacoethes 30-11-2022 10:39 AM

Not bad thanks!
Got to go to royal papworth for a CT angiogram today.
I can only have caffeine for the next 20 mins! Appointment is at 2pm, no caffeine 4 hours before Appointment.

How are you dawn?
Much planned today?

not_so_insig 30-11-2022 10:45 AM

I am off to the city centre today to do stuff. Including donating a cake stand to the local Cats Protection charity shop. They got broken into recently so are wanting donations. I donated before the break in but found the cake stand afterwards. It's an unwanted present and brand new in box. I will never use it so they might as well have it.

Cacoethes 30-11-2022 10:51 AM

That's cool.
And who breaks into a charity shop??

not_so_insig 30-11-2022 10:52 AM

Exactly Beckie.

Good luck with your hospital appointment!

Cacoethes 30-11-2022 11:01 AM

When I've volunteered in charity shops, we got people stealing all the time. Just seemed very wrong!

Thank you!

not_so_insig 30-11-2022 11:05 AM

Hope the trains are ok for you if you're going by train. I am unsure where that particular hospital is in relation to you.

Cacoethes 30-11-2022 11:12 AM

Thank you!
Trains are currently looking ok!
It's 2 trains to Cambridge and then a bus to addenbrookes. And then i have to find the royal Papworth. Addenbrookes is a HUGE site!
I'm just glad that it's not actually in Papworth anymore. Because that would be a real pain to get to!

not_so_insig 30-11-2022 11:21 AM

Sounds an epic journey!

Cacoethes 30-11-2022 11:23 AM

Had worse journeys! Lol!
Should be fine. Just gutted i can't have anymore caffeine now!

not_so_insig 30-11-2022 11:26 AM

You will have to drink lemonade or water.

Cacoethes 30-11-2022 11:32 AM

Haven't had lemonade in ages! Well, not without pink gin in it lol!
But yes i will.

one_step_closer 30-11-2022 12:15 PM

I hope everything goes well, Beckie. You can treat yourself to a coffee afterwards if you're allowed! I hope you're not having too bad cravings. You always have to do so much travelling to get anywhere.

That's kind of you to be donating the cake stand, Dawn. Will you be getting up to much else when you go out?

Cacoethes 30-11-2022 12:28 PM

Thanks!
According to the letter, I'll be able to eat and drink normally after the appointment!
I guess so! I'm used to it though!
Just lucky that i live less than 5 mins from the train station!

How are you lindsay?

one_step_closer 30-11-2022 03:25 PM

I'm not sure how I am. Managing to get things done anyway. RYL bin night!

I hope your appointment is going well.

Cacoethes 30-11-2022 03:27 PM

That's something at least!
Yes bin night!
Thank goodness because my bin is full!

Got gown on and cannula in!
Royal Papworth is very fancy and modern!

one_step_closer 30-11-2022 03:28 PM

How are you replying when you're supposed to be getting things done?!

I saw that hospital on TV, did look very modern.

Cacoethes 30-11-2022 03:30 PM

I'm sat in the imaging waiting room!
There's a woman with headphones in and she's singing which is a bit annoying

not_so_insig 30-11-2022 03:41 PM

I didnt get to the charity shop as I remembered that they're shut on a Wednesday. I had an appointment in the city so went to that. Some woman on the bus had stuff for the charity shop and she forgot so had to being it back with her.

Cacoethes 30-11-2022 05:50 PM

On the way home!
Managed to get the train in time but it's the slow one so it's stopping EVERYWHERE!

Cacoethes 01-12-2022 09:11 AM

Morning everyone!

tamobhuuta 01-12-2022 11:37 AM

Morning :) how are you? I opened my Advent calendar from L. It's my first chocolate one ever. Today was a curly wurly.

Cacoethes 01-12-2022 11:47 AM

I'm meh!
I haven't had an advent calender in many years!

not_so_insig 01-12-2022 12:20 PM

I have 3 advent calendars. One is an yankee candle one though.

tamobhuuta 01-12-2022 02:08 PM

Ooo posh insig!
You must be a proper grown up Cacoethes (no offence insig!)
I have 3 too. One off L (the chocolate one) one off Granma and one off my godmother.

Cacoethes 01-12-2022 02:22 PM

Definitely not a proper grown up!
Just that i don't have anyone to buy me one! Or can justify the expense. If you think about it, it's a lot of money for 25 tiny pieces of chocolate!
Can probably get a good couple of meals for the price of an advent calendar!

tamobhuuta 01-12-2022 05:14 PM

My chocolate one is greedily big.

one_step_closer 01-12-2022 05:52 PM

Mmm, chocolate advent calendars. I don't have any advent calendars this year. I'd just eat all the chocolate if it was a chocolate one.

one_step_closer 01-12-2022 05:54 PM

I have real trouble spelling calendar, I never know if it's the a after the l and the e after d. Lucky there is autocorrect.

Cacoethes 01-12-2022 05:58 PM

It is a tricky word to spell tbh!
Thank goodness for autocorrect. Especially helpful when you're drunk XD

one_step_closer 01-12-2022 06:12 PM

From what I've seen from drunken messages it isn't always accurate!

Cacoethes 01-12-2022 06:19 PM

Not always! But it definitely helps a lot!

one_step_closer 01-12-2022 06:22 PM

From experience? What are you up to this evening?

Cacoethes 01-12-2022 06:24 PM

Yep!
My drunken posts/texts are at least readable with autocorrect! It would just be jumbled letters otherwise!

nonperson 01-12-2022 09:21 PM

Vicar of Dibley quote...

Geraldine: Now then, Alice, tell me. Exactly how many chocolate advent calendars is the maximum a greedy person should have?

Alice: I don't know. I would have thought thirty.

=)

Cacoethes 01-12-2022 09:43 PM

Haha!
Love vicar of dibley!

Cacoethes 01-12-2022 10:42 PM

Zurg, if you read this, I've just come across an fb page called 'bunnies are ars*holes' (no * in the group name!)
You should put bun on there XD

Cacoethes 02-12-2022 09:14 AM

Morning everyone!

one_step_closer 02-12-2022 11:16 AM

Morning, Beckie. How are you today?

Cacoethes 02-12-2022 11:35 AM

Morning!
Bit annoyed because jas was meant to be coming to mine today but plans were changed last minute!
So i now have nothing to do today

How are you?

one_step_closer 02-12-2022 11:41 AM

That's a shame. Can you have a rest day? I know you don't like not doing much though. Just watch some TV or something?

I'm just feeling unwell due to Covid. Glad I can't somehow pass it through the screen to affect internet peoples! I don't have to isolate from you all.

Cacoethes 02-12-2022 11:44 AM

I'm going to go to the retail park I think!
See if I can find an outfit for the funeral. And i need to top up gas and electric.
Work have a Christmas market on today so I may pop up there too!
But i need to wait for mum to send me some money first!

That sucks :(
Is this the first time you've had covid?
At least the isolating rules aren't so strict now!

not_so_insig 02-12-2022 12:52 PM

Hello all. I am going wild swimming later on today. Already ate my advent chocolate for the day. The postman has been today so they're not on strike today.

one_step_closer 02-12-2022 01:32 PM

I hope you have a successful day, Beckie. You always find something to keep you occupied.

Yeah, this is the first time I've had Covid. The advice here just says to stay in until you feel well. I wouldn't have known I had covid if I hadn't had spare tests from before. I was at first mainly light-headed and dizzy and didn't think that was a symptom but tested just in case. Now you have to buy the tests. I think it says not to bother with the tests any more but how are you going to know if you have covid or not?

Enjoy your swim when you go, Dawn. I don't know how you deal with the freezing water. The next strike is on the 9th I think. I haven't seen any posties round here today. What picture did you have on your chocolate?

Cacoethes 02-12-2022 01:52 PM

I have to! Would go mental just watching TV all day!

I don't think it really matters so much anymore.
If you're ill, you're ill. Doesn't matter what it's called!
People at work have come in with covid

one_step_closer 02-12-2022 03:05 PM

Hmm. I know there's not the big hype about covid any more but I wouldn't want to pass it on to vulnerable people.

How's your day going?

Cacoethes 02-12-2022 03:15 PM

I know. Tbf they weren't allowed in the kitchen
And taking that much time off work would result in severe financial hardship! If it's between coming to work a bit ill and losing your house/car/not being able to eat etc. I'd probably choose work!

Couldn't find a funeral outfit.
You wouldn't think it would be so hard to find a black dress!
