That makes sense NP. I think when you’re in the middle of it it can seem more exciting sometimes, and road closures etc are not really a big deal, you’re right. They had to close some of the roads on Sunday for the Queen coming down Scotland, but we missed the traffic thankfully.

Also, the plan for the Queen to travel down from Balmoral was called operation unicorn, which I thought was quite cool!

Operation Unicorn is a very good name. A unicorn being Scotland's national animal, right? They like to give all the plans appropriate names. The Duke's death was Forth Bridge, as the Duke of Edinburgh, and the Queen's is London Bridge. And apparently code for when she actually died was "London Bridge is down" which is actually kind of chilling.

I heard about the 'london bridge has fallen' thing too.
It is quite chilling. It sounds like some sort of code from a disaster movie :ermm:
But i have been watching far too many disaster movie lately so that may be why

The drama was a few people asking if one of the managers had signed them out (because the time sheet was lost) and then someone posted a load of laughing gifs.
And because the people that asked about the time sheet are the 'older' group, they took offence and started ripping into her. Big boss had to step in, messages got deleted.
Not top level drama, but entertaining nonetheless.

Oh it's always entertaining when the bosses have to step in and restore order! And always more entertaining when it happens on a group chat. Like, "delete the messages, this never happened!"

No doubt the older ones will be bitching about it to each other at work today!
Big boss did try to be diplomatic but said it was 'banter'. But the 'older-younger' people divide is very obvious!
I'm kind of in the middle of the older and younger. Which is good because I'm not affected by the divide and get on with both groups!
But this just means i hear a lot of the bitching from both sides about the other!

It's not nice being stuck in the middle like that sometimes.

I try not to get involved too much.
Some of the time i can see why the older ones get annoyed because a couple of the younger ones just kind of turn up and do nothing. Which is frustrating.
But i guess you're always going to get that in any workplace, regardless of age!
It's fine. We all mostly get on!

Scotland’s national animal is a unicorn, yes. I found it really nice that the journey would only normally take 2 hours but it took 5 because they were going so slowly for people to pay their respects. When we were driving home from Dundee they were already sitting waiting at about 11.30, and she wasn’t due to pass through until 2.

People are apparently already queuing up in London for whatever it is that's happening (not the funeral, i know that's happening!) But there's something on that isn't the funeral
