tamobhuuta 08-09-2022 10:58 AM

Good morning, how are you?

one_step_closer 08-09-2022 11:19 AM

The coconut was frustrating to open even though a line had been gouged into it to help. I used the stick provided to make a hole to drink the water which was disgusting so I left it. Then I went at it with a hammer and all the water was coming out the hole and going everywhere. And it's hard to peel the flesh off the inside of the coconut. I thought this was a hack coconut but I won't be getting one again.

I'm meeting up with my brother today as it's his birthday tomorrow but he's seeing a friend tomorrow. I'm seeing him at 2 and we'll have lunch and look in the charity shops for books. I don't know how long I'll have to spend with him but I'll be home later than I'm comfortable with.

I hope you all have a good day.

not_so_insig 08-09-2022 11:57 AM

Morning all. Just a reminder that I may not have Internet tomorrow so don't worry too much if I don't post. Or miss me too much. I have a crappy signal where I am mobile wise so I might be able to view but not post.

Cacoethes 08-09-2022 12:03 PM

Hey tamo.
I'm ok thanks.
How are you?

Oh no! How disappointing lindsay!

Hope you manage to have a good time with your brother

I had an appointment with my new cpn.
Need to go to asda at some point but ceeb

not_so_insig 08-09-2022 12:55 PM

I think that the Queen may be dying. I hope that I am wrong though.

Cacoethes 08-09-2022 01:01 PM

Well, she is very old. Gonna happen eventually

tamobhuuta 08-09-2022 01:36 PM

Yes, it's all the news. She is very old.

one_step_closer 08-09-2022 04:41 PM

I've not seen any news. What's wrong with the queen? (I'm aware I could just Google but you can answer my question just as easily!)

Cacoethes 08-09-2022 04:46 PM

She's under 'medical supervision' at Balmoral and her family have all gone to be with her.

We'll probably get a bank holiday when she dies. Would be weird to have one this late in the year (they're mainly in the spring/summer aren't they?)

one_step_closer 08-09-2022 04:48 PM

Thanks, I did just Google. Sounds like it could be serious.

Imagine thinking of getting a bank holiday when she dies, Beckie. You're so caring.

Cacoethes 08-09-2022 04:55 PM

Sounds like it

Lol yeah! I kinda lost respect for the royal family a while ago for reasons i will not go into!
Obviously it will be a sad occasion for some when she dies but i don't know her personally and don't know a great deal about her so i would struggle to feel any strong emotion about it.

one_step_closer 08-09-2022 05:00 PM

That's fair enough.

So much is going on right now.

Have you been to Asda yet?

Cacoethes 08-09-2022 05:07 PM

There is.

Yeah i went to asda and pharmacy around 2pm.
I've been lazy today.
Taekwando at 6pm.

People have been saying to me FOUR DAYS

not that it'll apply to me being an NHS bod, but I can dream.

Blahria 08-09-2022 06:21 PM

I got very soaked today waiting for buses. I wouldn't normal mind, I quite like the rain, but being soaked at work is no fun

Zurg 08-09-2022 06:36 PM

Do you Think i could get a bank holiday too when the queen of the uk dies…?? I shall raise my cup of coffee and sing 'god save the queen' in her honour. But i might go back to normal after this gesture. I'm pretty sure i'd self ignite if i stay serious for more than 10 minutes in a row…

nonperson 08-09-2022 06:45 PM

Buckingham Palace just announced her death.

I think so! Surely the whole world should honour her

Cacoethes 08-09-2022 07:15 PM

I wouldn't get a day off either, working in a pub it would just be busier than usual! Four days though?! We get time and a half on bank holidays, if i could just work on all four days, I'd be laughing!

Yep she has died. Of course it's sad when anyone dies. But she was very old, has lived a good life and died at one of her own homes surrounded by her family. So that's something.

In other news, i passed my taekwando grading!!!
I made absolutely no mistakes at all! Got everything spot on first time! So i have my certificate and my first belt!

Pi.R^2 08-09-2022 07:20 PM

Aww, well done on the taekwondo Beckie! Great news! Is there a jpg of you with your belt for me to stalk on facebook?

nonperson 08-09-2022 07:23 PM

Well done, Beckie.

Zurg 08-09-2022 07:26 PM

Good for you, Beckie!!! Now celebrate it with cake!!! :p

The news on danish tv just informed me that the queen had about 30 corgis during her time as a queen. In my book that's pretty much a recipe for a very happy and fabulous life!!!!

Cacoethes 08-09-2022 07:31 PM

Thanks guys!

Jenna, i did ask one of the other guys to take a jpg of me holding my belt and certificate, but i look horrendous in the jpg so i posted a pic of the belt and certificate on their own instead!
Worringly, the assessor took a jpg of all of us (5 of us) at the end for fb so i will be ending up on fb anyway! Lol!

I would have thought it would be more than 30 considering she's 96! She did love a good corgi though!

Blahria 08-09-2022 07:41 PM

Aww that's awesome, well done!

Blahria 08-09-2022 07:43 PM

Only 30 corgis! I'm surprised too. That is an excellent haul of corgis though, sweet potatoes.

Cacoethes 08-09-2022 07:50 PM

Thank you!

They are like little furry potatoes!

I was watching taskmaster and it just stopped with a message about an announcement from Buckingham palace. Rather annoyed. It was a good episode.

Blahria 08-09-2022 07:51 PM

My sister has a corgi and one of his many nicknames, is potato!

Oooh I love taskmaster, what series?

Cacoethes 08-09-2022 08:15 PM

Cuuute!

It was the one with Rhod Gilbert, James Acaster, Kerry Godliman, Jessica (can't remember last name!) and Phil Wang.
I also love taskmaster!

Blahria 08-09-2022 08:24 PM

Yaaaaas! That one is such a good series! I love them all, but that one is definitely up there!

It's such a great show

Cacoethes 08-09-2022 08:33 PM

I prefer the older series to the newer ones!
My absolute favourite series is the one with David Baddiel and Jo Brand. They were absolutely hilarious when they did team tasks!

It really is!
I started watching it when it was first released. I rarely watch things I'm unfamiliar with, so i don't know why i settled on it (maybe because i love Greg Davies) but I'm so glad i did! Was hooked from that moment on!

Blahria 08-09-2022 08:43 PM

Oh Jo and David are pure gold! When David and Ed are paired up for that live drawing task too it's perfection.

The early ones are so good, I think the novelty of the completely silliness is really fresh

Cacoethes 08-09-2022 08:46 PM

Yes!!! And Ed's reaction to being paired with David too XD

Yes i agree!

Blahria 08-09-2022 09:24 PM

I love angry Ed.

I think almost any of them losing their tempers is brilliant.

Cacoethes 09-09-2022 06:24 AM

Yes he's brilliant!

Absolutely!

Morning everyone!
I have paid most of my Internet bill so should have wifi again soon!

Zurg 09-09-2022 09:37 AM

Morning Beckie.
And yay for possibly soon returning wi fi!!!

I'm wondering a bit…. Do you guys Think you need to be royal to have 30 corgis??? Or even 30 bunnies???
I'm wondering how many bunnies i could fit into my flat…??? This is what happens when i have too much time to Think and am left unsupervised!!!

Cacoethes 09-09-2022 09:43 AM

Morning zurg!

My wifi is back! :-D

I had a friend who lived in a one bed flat and her bunnies had babies so they had a great deal of them at one point!
So a few more probably wouldn't hurt :p
Maybe more pee on the couch though!

tamobhuuta 09-09-2022 10:19 AM

Morning. I personally would love 30 budgies.

not_so_insig 09-09-2022 10:21 AM

Morning all. I have Internet for now. I thought that Royal Mail were on strike today yet the postman has been.

Cacoethes 09-09-2022 10:28 AM

Budgies are cool.

Royal mail not on strike here.

I haven't had post in months though.
I don't know why. I doubt I've not got even a single letter in that time but no idea why i haven't received anything.
I guess bills and stuff mostly come online now.

tamobhuuta 09-09-2022 10:34 AM

Mi mam says the strikes been postponed.

not_so_insig 09-09-2022 10:38 AM

According to Google the strike has been called off due to recent events. I am avoiding Facebook as my mh is suffering and I am finding Facebook is making it worse.

not_so_insig 09-09-2022 10:38 AM

Ninja post tamobhuuta.

Zurg 09-09-2022 10:52 AM

30 bugdies, 30 bunnies…. Destruction and mayhem would ensue.
A bunny is destructive. Bugdies even more so is my experience. My first budgie wrecked everything she could reach from her cage. It was pretty much an arms race trying to keep up with her Intelligence.
I do not appreciate my pets being smarter than me!!! That's really rude AND terrible for my self confidence!!

I rarely ever get post either,Beckie. Everything is online now. And when i do find a lonely letter in my mailbox i always freak out because it's usually an unexpected and long forgotten about-bill o_o

Cacoethes 09-09-2022 10:58 AM

I've heard birds are very clever!

I don't think I've forgotten any bills
But you never know! :ermm:

not_so_insig 09-09-2022 10:59 AM

I just had a letter from my bank offering me a loan. Erm nope. I dont know why they didn't send me an email because they have my email address as I do online banking.

tamobhuuta 09-09-2022 11:11 AM

I do online banking, I couldn't keep up with the paperwork.

Cacoethes 09-09-2022 11:50 AM

I do online banking too.
Save the trees!!

Just arrived at work.
It feels like a Monday because I've been off for 3 days!

tamobhuuta 09-09-2022 11:54 AM

Lol I hope you have a good time.

I've been waiting on the phone to speak to the GP receptionist almost an hour and a half!

not_so_insig 09-09-2022 12:26 PM

Hope you managed to speak to someone by now tamobhuuta!

tamobhuuta 09-09-2022 12:34 PM

I did. The GP will call me on the 26th.
