Cacoethes 04-12-2021 07:37 PM

We also had pigs in blankets!

I'm not a fan of Christmas pudding either

nonperson 04-12-2021 08:59 PM

I like christmas pudding but only in small quantities. Home made is vastly better than store bought too.

I'm not sure what to do about christmas dinner this year, like normally I'd be all over the pigs in blankets but I feel I'm not going to enjoy them so much this year because I'd feel guilty now that I've pretty much gone meat free. And I'd feel silly saying to my parents to do me a veggie version.

Cacoethes 04-12-2021 09:04 PM

That is a predicament!
It's Christmas though, so guilt stuff is allowed!

nonperson 04-12-2021 09:52 PM

Yeah that's what I'm thinking too.

Cacoethes 04-12-2021 10:03 PM

'**** it, it's Christmas' is universally recognised!

nonperson 04-12-2021 10:05 PM

True!

Cacoethes 05-12-2021 10:04 AM

Morning everyone!

nonperson 05-12-2021 10:49 AM

Morning.

How's everyone today?

Cacoethes 05-12-2021 11:29 AM

Not bad thanks!
We are going to 'Sunday on the square' today.
Lots of live music and Christmas stalls!

How are you?

tamobhuuta 05-12-2021 12:01 PM

Hi np and Cacoethes. Hope you're both well.

Cacoethes 05-12-2021 12:21 PM

Hey tamo :)
How are you?

I now can't go to the Christmas market because I've been struck with a mystery illness (definitely not covid!)

nonperson 05-12-2021 02:13 PM

Oh no, mystery illnesses are the worst. Something you ate yesterday?

I had to rush around emergency tidying the house this morning for my friend who came for a brief lunch.

Cacoethes 05-12-2021 02:17 PM

My friend thinks possible blood sugar crash.
It's not like an 'eaten something weird' illness
I've never experienced anything like this before!

Well done!
Did you have a nice time?

nonperson 05-12-2021 02:41 PM

Ah yeah hypoglycaemia feels ****ing awful. I know you might not want to but eating something less sugary and more carbohydratey will help bring your sugar levels back to normal and keep them there.

It was ok, nothing special and only for half an hour because she's working near to my house today. But it did force me to tidy up so I can see my kitchen again.

Cacoethes 05-12-2021 02:43 PM

I don't think I have anything carbohydratey. My friend is out, I'll ask him to pick up a sandwich or something.

Well that's a good thing at least!

nonperson 05-12-2021 02:43 PM

Regarding the eye thing, that sounds like what happens to me when my sugars drop. Sometimes the feelings don't go away for a while even after your sugars have stabilised.

Cacoethes 05-12-2021 02:56 PM

That sucks
It's really annoying!
And does not help the nausea!

nonperson 05-12-2021 03:16 PM

It's a peculiar feeling for sure.

Cacoethes 05-12-2021 03:22 PM

It is indeed!

I was too late for my friend to get a sandwich but he has frozen roast potatoes. That should work!

one_step_closer 05-12-2021 04:08 PM

I hope they are nice crispy roast potatoes. Hope you feel better soon.

My kitchen door won't close and I've tried my best to make my kitchen cat friendly but I'm worried Crookshanks will get into something. I started by pushing the table over the door to keep it closed but then I had to go in and out the front door and back door any time I needed to get into the kitchen. I put in a repair request but I don't know when they'll be able to come. Such a worry!

How is everyone elses day going?

Cacoethes 05-12-2021 04:10 PM

Thanks lindsay :)

Oh no! That is a worry!
Hope they don't take too long to fix it!

one_step_closer 05-12-2021 04:13 PM

It's not an emergency so it will be during the week anyway. I hope they can get back to me quickly so I know when I need to be in. I have to collect a parcel from the delivery office in another town and it has weird opening hours.

Are you managing to relax or focus on something Beckie?

Cacoethes 05-12-2021 04:19 PM

We have weird opening hours at ours too!

Not really
My eyes are still being weird
But I have potatoes now!

one_step_closer 05-12-2021 04:23 PM

What do you put on your potatoes if anything?

nonperson 05-12-2021 04:33 PM

Gravyyyyy

Cacoethes 05-12-2021 05:10 PM

I didn't have anything on the potatoes but usually gravy!

Cacoethes 06-12-2021 09:35 AM

Morning everyone!

tamobhuuta 06-12-2021 11:59 AM

Hi Cacoethes, how are you? Any plans for today?

Cacoethes 06-12-2021 12:03 PM

I still feel dreadful physically!
Don't know what's going on!
No plans

How about you?

tamobhuuta 06-12-2021 12:12 PM

I'm feeling bad mentally but I need to sort myself out because my godmother is visiting later.

Cacoethes 06-12-2021 12:14 PM

Hope you have a nice visit

nonperson 06-12-2021 02:08 PM

Yello

Cacoethes 06-12-2021 02:16 PM

Hey np!
How are you?

nonperson 06-12-2021 02:21 PM

Well a very nice and attractive man at work just bought me flowers and chocolate as a thank you so I feel a bit giddy >.>

How're you? Feeling any better yet?

Cacoethes 06-12-2021 02:22 PM

Awww that's so nice!

Nope! I feel absolutely dreadful
Should have called gp this morning really

nonperson 06-12-2021 02:26 PM

Yup, he's almost too nice!

Can you still call them? =(

Cacoethes 06-12-2021 02:32 PM

You deserve nice-ness!

Probably not.
You have to call at 8am to get a call back.
I made the mistake of going on webmd symptom check. Lol!
Its top diagnoses were hypoglycaemia or brain aneurysm!

one_step_closer 06-12-2021 03:35 PM

When can you next talk to someone about how you're feeling Beckie? Do you need to call 111? I really hope you feel better soon.

How are you feeling now Tamo?

I would have acted a right fool if a guy gave me chocolates and flowers even just as a thank you gift. Did you manage to hold it together NP?!

Cacoethes 06-12-2021 03:37 PM

My friend said to call 111
But I'm having phone anxiety
I have some new symptoms today too
I'll talk to my cpn tomorrow. Though tbh she is pretty clueless about most things! Lol
Thank you :)

How are you doing lindsay?

one_step_closer 06-12-2021 03:45 PM

Is your friend still around or anyone you trust to take the call and recall back what you're saying? It's good that you have your CPN to talk to tomorrow, make sure you tell her everything. Maybe write things down if you can incase you forget something or wouldn't feel more comfortable getting it all out in one go on the paper and then discuss various symptoms.

I'm not too good today. Not got much housework done.

Cacoethes 06-12-2021 03:50 PM

My friend has gone home now. But I could ask him to call on my behalf because he knows literally everything and he could message me the verdict.
I just find calling 111 super stressful
Writing things down is a good idea!

Sorry to hear that
Housework can be really daunting
Can you give it another go tomorrow?

not_so_insig 06-12-2021 04:00 PM

Sorry to hear my thread peeps aren't so well. I am quite good except I am disappointed with my ebay purchase that came this morning. It's very small.

Cacoethes 06-12-2021 04:02 PM

That's a shame dawn
Online shopping can be quite hit and miss!

not_so_insig 06-12-2021 04:09 PM

Yes it was a present too for my cpn to say thanks. I will probably give it as it's nurse themed and I dont know anyone else I can give to. Probably won't leave positive feedback as it's not worth the hassle of returning it considering what I paid. I think it's bad of the seller not to put the size of the keyring on the auction as it was an eBay purchase.

Cacoethes 06-12-2021 04:17 PM

That's nice of you :)

Probably not worth the hassle, no.
It is bad. You hear about it happening all the time on ebay

not_so_insig 06-12-2021 04:23 PM

She's a decent cpn. I am going on Thursday to my hearing voices group which is held at the cmht so will drop it off then. I just have to find some pretty paper. I give a card to my cpn on mh nurses day and nurses day if they're decent. I had a bitch of a cpn who got nothing from me not even a Christmas card.

Cacoethes 06-12-2021 04:31 PM

It's good to recognise when someone does a good job
I always forget about nurses day until the actual day and I see it on fb!

one_step_closer 06-12-2021 06:40 PM

That's a shame about the size Dawn but I'm sure your CPN will love it. I sent a Zox wristband to one of the HCAs at the hospital called 'caught doing something good' or something like that because she is always so kind and doing good for the patients. They're mostly all good staff but I wanted to thank her because she was very good with me on my last admission and previous admissions.

Cacoethes 06-12-2021 06:45 PM

That's lovely lindsay!

I love the zox bands you got me. I've got them on right now!

not_so_insig 06-12-2021 07:30 PM

Thanks Lindsay.

It's freezing here. According to my phone it's only 4 degrees but feels like -1.
