Sketchy 07-03-2017 04:28 PM

Did you enjoy yourself?

not_so_insig 07-03-2017 04:30 PM

Yes I did thanks Lorraine. I didn't go for about 4 months and I missed it.

Sketchy 07-03-2017 04:33 PM

Maybe you could make it a more regular thing. I come here quite a lot, just to get out the flat for a bit.

Cacoethes 07-03-2017 04:35 PM

I should start doing the same! I hate going out so a coffee would be a nice reward.

Sketchy 07-03-2017 04:37 PM

You should Beckie. I often take my sketchbooks or just log into RYL while I'm here. A lot of people here take their laptops and work away for a while.

not_so_insig 07-03-2017 04:40 PM

I should. Trouble is that I lack the motivation to go outside. Town isn't safe anymore with drugs stuff in the public toilets, fights every week, people slumped in the street due to being high on drugs and being pestered by druggies and alcoholics for money.

Sketchy 07-03-2017 04:42 PM

Isn't there somewhere closer to your flat that you would feel safer?

not_so_insig 07-03-2017 04:49 PM

There's a community cafe in the next village. I might go there but the trouble is that town is a lot easier to get to.

Sketchy 07-03-2017 04:52 PM

I'm lucky I live in quite a busy area with coffee shops, pubs and places to eat. The coffee shop nearest is opened until 9pm weekdays too.

Cacoethes 07-03-2017 04:53 PM

I would be worried about that too dawn.
I'm lucky I live in a nice area.

I'm seeing my cc tomorrow so hopefully she suggests going for a coffee (so I don't have to pay for it) :tongue2:

Sketchy 07-03-2017 04:55 PM

I'm greedy. I finished my tea and I'm now having a cappuccino. I'm just holding off going to the shop. I need washing detergent and food.

Cacoethes 07-03-2017 05:01 PM

My favourite thing to get is a skinny latte. Before I started slimming world my favourite was salted caramel latte. So good! And the cafe near me does really good milkshakes too with real ice cream from their ice cream machine. Butterscotch is lush!

Sketchy 07-03-2017 05:03 PM

That does sound nice. My sister bought a slimming world recipe book. There were lots of lovely looking stuff in it. I need to lose weight, so I'm thinking of getting inspiration from it.

Cacoethes 07-03-2017 05:45 PM

There are some really good recipes about!
I keep meaning to buy one of the books.

Wonderland. 07-03-2017 05:56 PM

They sometimes have Slimming World books in The Works for cheap.

Cacoethes 07-03-2017 06:00 PM

Oooo thanks amy, I'll have a look on Thursday after college!

I keep thinking it's Wednesday for some reason. I can't seem to keep track of the days lately!
This morning I thought it was Sunday!

chinahorse 07-03-2017 06:02 PM

Days are pesky things! Always changing.

Wonderland. 07-03-2017 06:03 PM

I love The Works soooooo many books!

The days this week do feel odd indeed. I keep thinking it's friday for some reason!

Cacoethes 07-03-2017 06:19 PM

Haha!! Yes Lillie, it's very rude of them :p

It's weird isn't it amy?!

chinahorse 07-03-2017 06:24 PM

I want to sleep but I have to cook for 10 people in 5 mins. Booo.

Cacoethes 07-03-2017 06:25 PM

Ah that's annoying! What are you cooking? Hopefully it won't take too long and then you can nap!

chinahorse 07-03-2017 06:29 PM

I don't actually know lol. Yeah hopefully. But you have to wait till everyone's done and then clear up as well. Boo to this.

Cacoethes 07-03-2017 06:36 PM

That's a pain!

I had similar routines in places I've been.
The worst was at the medium secure and we all got locked in the dining room then had to wait until everyone was done and then all the cutlery and plates had to be counted by 2 separate members of staff then wait until they locked the kitchen up and then finally let us out!
And some people were really slow eaters!

Sketchy 07-03-2017 06:43 PM

That sounds annoying Beckie. Lillie, I hope you get to make something nice.

Cacoethes 07-03-2017 06:52 PM

It was really annoying!

I'm hungry now! Think I'll cook a spag bol. Yum!

Wonderland. 07-03-2017 06:54 PM

We had the same system on the first ward I went to in rehab. I hated it. They did it for parties as well, and they would last for like 3 hours!

Sketchy 07-03-2017 06:54 PM

That does sound yummy.

Cacoethes 07-03-2017 07:01 PM

It's so annoying amy! One of the things I missed when I was in hospital was eating what I wanted, where I wanted it and when!

Should be Lorraine. Wish I had some cheese though! I love me some cheese!

Sketchy 07-03-2017 07:03 PM

Cheese is always good! Yum.

Cacoethes 07-03-2017 07:05 PM

I would live on it if I could! Lol!

Wonderland. 07-03-2017 07:07 PM

Totally agree Beckie! I find they always do lunch so early in hospital. Like who needs a full on meal at 12pm. I never have mine till like half 1 or 2 at home.

Spag bol sounds yummy :)

Sketchy 07-03-2017 07:08 PM

It's one of those comfort foods. I love cheese over a jacket potato. I want cheese now, but I have none.

Sketchy 07-03-2017 07:10 PM

Yeh, I found hospitals do their meals really early too. I was never hungry at their lunch time.

Cacoethes 07-03-2017 07:11 PM

That's true amy!
And the last hospital I was in served full hot meals plus desserts for lunch and dinner. Which is a bit much imo! I would never cook a full hot meal for lunch!

It is Lorraine. Great in cold weather too! Although it's not been freezing today.
I'll need to do something with cheese tomorrow!

Wonderland. 07-03-2017 07:17 PM

Cheese on a jacket = proper comfort food. Definitely thumbs up to that.

At my acute they feed you all the time, although I tend to be put on the old peoples ward. Breakfast is 8, brew and biscuits at 10.30, lunch at 12 ish, brew and more biscuits at 2.30, tea at 5 and then supper at 9. Literally the whole day revolved around food time and fag time! Not exactly the healthiest environment!

Wonderland. 07-03-2017 07:19 PM

Yep Bex at the acute we got starter, main and dessert!
And at supper they'd put out left over cake!!!
No wonder most people were overweight.

not_so_insig 07-03-2017 07:23 PM

I remember the hospital being early too. I don't eat until at least 1 pm. Literally every single meal had mashed potatoes twice a day got boring. I would have liked jacket potato. But it had a separate kitchen to the rest of the hospital which meant that it was a improvement as the rest of the hospital had cold and bland food. The rest of the hospital had a preordering system and they usually messed up my order.

not_so_insig 07-03-2017 07:28 PM

I just Googled the answer and the trust spends a £1 a meal. No wonder the food is terrible - you can't buy a burger for that much.

Cacoethes 07-03-2017 07:29 PM

The days definitely revolve around food and fags!!
It was the only thing you had to look forward to.
I first started smoking when I was in picu, never touched a cigarette before that! Very unhealthy!

Wonderland. 07-03-2017 07:32 PM

In my acute they wouldn't let you out the back in the secure area unless you smoked, so you had to have S17 leave if you wanted just go out for fresh air out the front, it was ridiculous! No wonder pretty much everyone smoked!

not_so_insig 07-03-2017 07:36 PM

My acute ward had an outside area which was enclosed on all sides bar the door to the ward. The only downside is that it has terrible mobile phone signal. A proper signal is an must as there's nothing to do.

Cacoethes 07-03-2017 07:39 PM

Same in most of the wards I've been In amy! It is ridiculous!

My last hospital had wifi so that was good!

Wonderland. 07-03-2017 07:43 PM

We had a ward phone so that wasn't a problem.

Mobile phone signal was a bit iffy, and there was no free wifi but at least I had my dongle. That was a lifesafer at times!

Cacoethes 07-03-2017 07:46 PM

I've used a dongle before. And I think you can now use your phone as a wifi hotspot or something and use laptops and stuff using your phone? Something like that anyway! I'm not too hot on technology!

not_so_insig 07-03-2017 07:47 PM

They have installed wifi since Beckie. I have been for meetings in the building since and used the wifi there so I know that it works. I have bought 2 games for my nintendo 3ds and a portable dvd player since so if I am in the unfortunate position to end up there I will have plenty to do.

Wonderland. 07-03-2017 07:49 PM

We had some odd groups. Everything was aimed at old people as it was an old people ward but did always have a few 20 odd year olds on it. So that was highly annoying.

Anyway they always had this 'lets debate whats in the newspapers group' which they'd always always invite me to as hardly anyone wanted to come. Like no are trying to make me more depressed!!!

Good plan Dawn!

not_so_insig 07-03-2017 07:53 PM

We had a quiz on a newspaper article once. All I can remember is the answer was Malcolm Hebden!

Wonderland. 07-03-2017 07:54 PM

You have some memory!

I like quizzes :)

not_so_insig 07-03-2017 07:57 PM

I had a quiz in the last visit too and our team won because I knew what html stood for. I was useless at other questions though.

Wonderland. 07-03-2017 08:03 PM

It's always hit and miss with general knowledge questions. Thats probably why they put people in teams so you'll get a bigger overall score.

We used to make up the whackiest team names. I wish I could remember them.
