Morning all.
No plans, just food shop as normal and really need to crack on with some gardening. Do you want to go to B&Q for me? =P |
Would if I could np!
I'm washing my bedding and did my mountain of washing up. Yes. My life is THAT thrilling. |
Ah I also have the mountain of washing up to do too. And desperately need to put my summer duvet on the bed. So yeah, my life is much the same!
I'm not sure you'd want to go if you knew my B&Q shopping list - mostly bags of gravel! Which I won't be able to fit into my car all in one go. Thinking that it can wait until next week... I also want compost for some tomato plants. Does Asda sell compost? |
If it's a big Asda it probably will yeah.
|
May even sell gravel. Aldi is and so is morrisons. I spend a lot of time looking at it waiting to go in.
|
Hmmm, I shall see later then! Kinda need a lot of it though. B&Q/Wickes don't seem to want to deliver.
|
My dad got wood chippings delivered, could you order gravel?
I might go for a walk with Mum and big sister. |
All I know about shopping is food shopping and online shopping for random non-needed things.
I hope you get to go for a walk later Tamo. |
May be that everyone is trying to buy similar stuff np?
How is everyone? |
Yeah that's probably exactly why.
I'm sitting in a patch of shade in my garden, having a break from trying to get things planted. |
Eek. Make sure to drink lots!!
|
Definitely am. Was taking it slow but think I'm going to give up for now. The sun moved around too quickly. =P
Time for food and Chicken Run is on tv. |
Afternoon all. I am struggling to breathe today due to the high pollen and the fact that there's a fire less than 5 miles away. Sitting inside with windows closed. Throat feels like it's tightening up. Plus my back is hurting.
My postcard to the USA has arrived! I originally sent it over 3 months ago and it never arrived so I sent it again about 10 days ago. I sent another at the same time to another address in the USA and 2 to Russia but they havent arrived yet. But Russia post is slow at times even before the coronavirus. |
Antihistamine? Inhaler?
Chicken run is good. I've watered the plants and fed the cat. Wating peanut butter porridge now. What's everyone else up to? |
I have taken benadryl. They have managed to put the fire out now. Between the two of them my throat is near normal. I am just more breathless than normal.
|
I'm trying to decide how badly I want to maybe see the Falcon 9 in the sky... and whether it's worth a trip out in the dark later. =/
|
I just watched the launch online, pretty amazing! I've not looked into the skywatching side of it - what will there by to see from the UK? I'm really far north so it gets dark super super late so I probably won't be able to stay up late enough to pitch black, even if the skies are clear!
|
It was very amazing.
It's passing by at about 10:15 but really low on the south west horizon... so unless you're up high and have a clear view it's unlikely to be seen. And possibly not up north anyway? I don't know. I can get somewhere higher with trees in the distance so not a clear horizon view... but it's a bit of a trek in the dark with not proper paths... for something I might not actually be able to see. Argh, I don't know what to do. |
See how the weather is maybe. If the conditions are good then these are the sort of things that are hard to regret doing!
It is amazing what we can do when we put our minds to it as a species. If only most of the efforts were directed generally in a better direction |
The weather is good, but I think I'll just have a look in the garden instead... I'm not really meant to be wandering around in the dark in the place I want to go, heh.
And yes, totally agree. One day the world will devote itself to good pursuits and Starfleet Academy will become a real thing. =P |
Did you venture out? It was still dusky light when I went to bed (still quite late) and I randomly got up for a drink at 4:30am to a most gorgeous sunrise.
So would have had no chance of seeing anything even if there was something to see. I once saw the ISS going over years ago - it can be very clear here at night but around June time it's almost 24 hours of day time! |
Morning everyone. One of my friends saw the falcon. How are you all today?
|
No, I didn't go out but hung out a window in the hope that I was up high enough but no luck. There was still quite a bit of light in the west even at 10:15pm. I'm guessing you're not in Suffolk after all, Harley. =P
I've used this site to see when the ISS is going over: https://spotthestation.nasa.gov/sightings/ It's pretty cool to watch it going over. Morning Lindsay. Your friend was really lucky! I'm tearful (space stuff has really got to me) but will do more pottering in the garden and avoid food shopping today. How're you? |
It's a huge thing, especially with all the negative things that are going on, no wonder you feel tearful. It sounds like you have good plans for your day. I hope you have a nice day. Have you got enough food in the house?
I'm not great. Still trying to figure out how to get through the day in the least painful way. |
It's silly really, I don't know why I feel it so much. =/
Anyhoo, yeah should be a nice day. I've plenty of food, there were just some specific things I was after but I can scrape through. It's kinda nice having a weekend without the stress of a food shop. I'm wondering about making bread pudding too. You can get through the day <3 What have you got to keep you busy? Any cooking or baking? |
Morning everyone. Beautiful day here and my mum has very kindly hung my washing out - she needed the washing machine!
|
What is in bread pudding (apart from bread) I've never had it.
That's one way to get your washing hung out for you Tamo! I just can't focus on much. I go to start something and then slap my head because I can't do it. I've done a washing and I'm supposed to also hoover. I really should get out too. |
Is bread pudding the same as bread and butter pudding?
I'm also doing washing though no line to hang it out on Washing smells so much nicer and fresher when it's been on the line! Don't pressure yourself lindsay I wish I had something helpful to say but I know you can do it! |
Similar but not the same as bread and butter pudding, it's more cakey and without the cream.
Er, so bread, milk, eggs, sugar, sultanas, cinnamon and nutmeg (or mixed spice). Slop it all together and pop it in the oven. It reminds me of home. =( I find it hard to focus on things too and starting things can sometimes seem like a pointless mountain to climb but I can only echo Beckie - there's no pressure, just do what you can and try not to punish yourself if things don't happen. |
Hello all. I feel not so good today but Idk why. But I managed to have a shower and wash my hair.
|
Well done Dawn, that's an achievement when you're not feeling so great.
|
Bet it feels nice to be fresh in this weather. Well done.
|
Sounds yummy np!
|
Does not sound yummy NP, sorry.
|
I think I probably have had bread pudding, I think it was nice. L made us cinnamon buns which were definitely nice.
|
Mmmm cinnamon buns!
If I ever get a cake from the local cafe I'll get a cinnabun! |
My brother has been making lots of cinnamon buns recently, shame I can't have any!
|
Hopefully soon lindsay!

It did not turn out very yummy either... =( |
Aww that's a shame :(
|
The mix was too moist so it had to go in the oven for an extra hour and it's still a bit undercooked. I think the same thing happened the last time too. Still edible though. =P
|
MOIST!
Afternoon, how are you all? |
Moist, hehe. I love using that word. =)
Feeling quite blah and unwell today, forcing myself to crack on at work... How's your day been so far? |
Hi guys. I've got stinging eyes :(
|
I hate that word!! *shudders*
|
Mmmoist. =)
|
Plinth
|
Which do you prefer Beckie: the word moist or Ainsley Harriot?
|
Oh god they're both as bad as each other!
Ainsley Harriot is terrifying though |
Hahaha! That was a brilliant question Dawn!
