Sketchy 06-02-2018 06:26 PM

I do have the fire on. Heating up nicely!

It’s better your light stuck on than off. I hope he can fix it tomorrow.

Aubergine 06-02-2018 06:38 PM

I'm glad you're going to be toasty warm. :)

That's true. I would not really like to shower in the dark! Though I do worry about wasting electricity. Poor planet!

Sketchy 06-02-2018 06:41 PM

It’s just an accident. Don’t worry.

Are you up to much tonight? I’m just going to relax and watch tv.

Aubergine 06-02-2018 06:43 PM

Relaxing and TV sounds lovely. Anything good on tonight?

I'm going to relax and listen to music. :) Also might try and do a bit of studying if my brain will cooperate.

Sketchy 06-02-2018 06:47 PM

Just checked. There’s nothing on tv. Will maybe pick a dvd. Not sure which one.

Listening to music sounds good. I hope your studying goes well.

Cacoethes 06-02-2018 06:48 PM

Hey guys!

Aubergine 06-02-2018 06:49 PM

DVD sounds good, Lorraine. Do you have many DVDs? I don't have any!

Hey Beckie. How're you doing?

Sketchy 06-02-2018 06:50 PM

I have lots of dvds so I have plenty to choose from.

Hi Beckie. How are you?

Cacoethes 06-02-2018 06:58 PM

Im ok thanks!
Finally home.

How are you guys?

Aubergine 06-02-2018 07:02 PM

Cool Lorraine! I don't have any CDs either. I am completely digital! Mainly because I lose things...

Hooray for home!

I'm OK.

Cacoethes 06-02-2018 07:06 PM

Up to much?

Aubergine 06-02-2018 07:07 PM

Just listening to music and doing tiny, tiny bits of reading for OU stuff. I don't know how people study full time. Hats off to you. Employment is genuinely less stressful. (Unless you make a mistake... :whistling: :wow: )

Cacoethes 06-02-2018 07:24 PM

I'm sure you'll get used to it!
It is hard when you've not been in education for a while.
But yeah, employment is less stressful :p

Eska 06-02-2018 07:31 PM

Evening everyone!

Lorraine, a DVD sounds good :)

Aubergine and Beckie I agree that employment is less stressful than studying! Especially given that I'm in a pretty low stress job and did a pretty high pressure course.

Aubergine 06-02-2018 07:41 PM

I'm only on week one! They're teaching me how to write sentences and about powers of 10. And still my brain is like "NOPE!" It is not cooperating. Though my friend who did a degree in maths has agreed to tutor me if I provide her with lots of cups of tea. :)

What did you study, Eska?

Cacoethes 06-02-2018 07:42 PM

Ugh maths is just terrible.
It should be banned.

That's great that you have a friend who can do maths though! Tutoring in exchange for tea sounds like a good deal!

chinahorse 06-02-2018 07:45 PM

Evenin'

Yup but empliyment brings other stresses like idiot 16 year old staff...

Cacoethes 06-02-2018 07:49 PM

Hey Lillie
How are you?

Yeah, i don't think I'd be able to deal with idiot 16 year olds tbh!

chinahorse 06-02-2018 07:53 PM

I'm so cold. My idiot heating said it was on when it wasn't do now it's freezing in my house. Well 15.2 to he precise.

How is everyone?

Eska 06-02-2018 07:55 PM

I like maths!

And ugh yes that sounds stressful. I only work with one 16 yr old and I'm lucky that she's super mature and generally awesome.

Eska 06-02-2018 07:56 PM

Ouch, Lillie, that is too cold for inside!

I'm ok. On my way home from work, planning on actually cooking for myself tonight! Only stir fry but still.

Cacoethes 06-02-2018 07:58 PM

I am also freezing!

How can you like maths eska?!
It is clearly the work of satan.

I don't like a lot of the teenagers at college.
Not generalizing but some of them are absolutely awful!!!

Stir fry sounds good!

Aubergine 06-02-2018 08:00 PM

Hey Lillie. :) I was an idiot 17 year old when I worked full-time haha. Worked in Boots in the pharmacy for a couple of years. :) Youngest person I work with now is me! (I'm 30) ;)

Oh dear. That is cold! You need a heated throw, Lillie!

You like maths, Eska? Hmm...

Stir fry is nice!

Eska 06-02-2018 08:01 PM

I'm a bit chilly but then I am walking home in shorts so it's to be expected.

Maths is like a puzzle! My mother was a mathematician so maybe I get it from her?

Oh and Aubergine I studied architecture.

chinahorse 06-02-2018 08:03 PM

Why on earth are you wearing shorts?!?!

Bet you didn't ask stupid questions like where the frozen mango lives though aubergine.

Aubergine 06-02-2018 08:05 PM

Maths is like an impossible puzzle that makes you want to cry. :P

Architecture sounds interesting. But maths? Too much maths.

Um. No, I didn't. I had to quickly learn that the pharmacists did not like it if you asked them questions you should know the answers to... :P

Eska 06-02-2018 08:12 PM

I have no work trousers! (Well, technically I have two pairs but one doesn't fit and they're both too nice and technical to waste in work!) So shorts it is. I am wearing a lovely warm belay jacket so overall I'm fine :)

chinahorse 06-02-2018 08:12 PM

Yes maths is impossible. My psychiatrist had to get me to use my phone calculator to work out 300-37.5 today lol

Hah I'm known as the harsh manager at work. It's like they don't understand they need to do their job to the best of their ability for all of every shift?! Like madness that I expect that of them I know.

chinahorse 06-02-2018 08:14 PM

Buy some cheap ones for work eska! You'll freeze.

Eska 06-02-2018 08:19 PM

Lol, I'm pretty terrible at mental arithmetic but generally stuff where you can write things down/use a calculator I'm all good.

I actually ordered some trousers today! No idea whether they will fit though, will find out when they arrive later in the week.

Cacoethes 06-02-2018 08:22 PM

Architecture sounds cool!
And I cannot believe you are wearing shorts!
I'm in 2 jumpers, under a blanket with heating on and I'm still chilly!

I was 16 when I worked at Boots!
I like to think I was pretty sensible though!
And I would probably know where to find frozen mango :p

Aubergine 06-02-2018 08:25 PM

Lillie, you meanie! Hehe. We were a high street branch of Boots and SO busy, so once qualified as a HCA, they did not expect you to ask questions about certain things. It was a bit too like that there though. They had us HCAs (there were two per shift) working out what malaria tablets and stuff people should be taking for various destinations and measuring out methadone. As a HCA that is not cool. Looking back I think how responsible they were making me for things when I was just over 6 months in the job, getting paid £4 an hour... :ermm:

Shorts?! Mad. It's freezing! I'm sat under a heated throw!

Cacoethes 06-02-2018 08:31 PM

That is way too much for a HCA to be dealing with!!
That was very cheeky of them!

There's no Holby tonight :'(
Stupid football

Aubergine 06-02-2018 08:33 PM

I know! And on a Sunday the pharmacist used to have me run out to get him a Burger King. Sometimes in the pouring rain. :plain:

Football beats Holby. Silly hospital programmes. :tongue2:

Pomegranate 06-02-2018 08:35 PM

Evening all :-).

Aubergine 06-02-2018 08:36 PM

Emma. :)

How're you?

Cacoethes 06-02-2018 08:36 PM

That just takes the piss Aubergine!

I like my hospital programmea!!

Hey Emma!
How are you?

chinahorse 06-02-2018 08:36 PM

Wow that's ridiculous aubergine! And non too legit I'd bet.

Im so oo jealous of the heated throw. I looked into getting one but I've bought an armchair from harveys recently so will make do with a hot water bottle! Dreading my gas bill though :/

And the worst is like every single new member of staff when asked to get a passion fruit will gI've you the wrong thing. Like ok you've nevery seen one before but I expect you to know it's not a cucumber lol. Or when I say get the mop so we can fill it and they come back with literally only the mop *facepalm* or what category is a jaffa cake in? Clues in the name ypu eejit.

Aubergine 06-02-2018 08:41 PM

Definitely non-legit considering it's illegal to even put away dispensary stock unless you're registered on an accredited course. I was terribly naive to things when I was 17. Well, you would be I guess. You just do what you're told (or I used to - doesn't sound like your staff do, Lillie!) Wish I had been a bit more savvy though. Hope no one got malaria...

Haha Lillie! Poor you. Sounds like fun and games at your place. :)

Pomegranate 06-02-2018 08:45 PM

Not too bad thanks. Watching Charmed reruns with the cat lol.

You’re staff don’t sound the brightest Lillie!

I’m jealous of all you warm people! It’s so cold!

Aubergine 06-02-2018 08:46 PM

I've never seen Charmed. Cuddles with the cat sound nice. :)

You need a heated throw, Emma!

chinahorse 06-02-2018 08:47 PM

You did your best aubergine-all you could do.

It's a generation thing I think, they all seem to expect the world for nothing. And we have kids from a fair few backgrounds.

Hey Emma :)

Gargh silly sports always ruining things beckie.

Cacoethes 06-02-2018 08:47 PM

Heated throw does sound amazing!!

I've finally warmed up.

Your staff don't sound too bright Lillie!

zombiehunter 06-02-2018 08:50 PM

*tuns in and shoves an ice cube down coco's back* :-P

Cacoethes 06-02-2018 08:52 PM

ZOMBIE!!!
you're so mean!!
*scowls*

zombiehunter 06-02-2018 08:53 PM

you know I wuv you really coco :-p

Aubergine 06-02-2018 08:54 PM

This thread is moving so fast.

Cacoethes 06-02-2018 08:54 PM

Hmmmm
*glares suspiciously at zombie*

It is rather busy in here!

Aubergine 06-02-2018 08:57 PM

I've completed the first week of uni stuff! Hooray. Got an online thing tomorrow. Out tutor group introducing each other.

The pharmacist that sent me home last week just sent me a message with a bit huggy elephant thing saying "this hug is just for you" next to it. She said she hopes I feel better. Haha. Sweet.

Cacoethes 06-02-2018 09:05 PM

Yay well done!
Sounds good

Awww that's so sweet!
