Oh cool beckie. LOTR is so long!!

Apart from one who I had to tell off who knows better. Who also doesn't know that I know she was bullshiting because I have more scar tissue than she ever will.

I have all of one morning and some of one afternoon in. And tbf I'm only out on Wednesday to get my hair done.

It is very long!!

Also watching The Hobbit.

I dunno which I prefer... LOTR or the Hobbit. With LOTR they missed out lots of bits because the books are so long... but with the Hobbit they added a whole lot of weird stuff in to make one shortish book into three films!

I found the Hobbit films good, but not as good as LOTR.

There's some slightly odd looking CGI in the Hobbit too. Think I just wanted it to be amazing because I love the book so much and was actually a bit disappointed in the films.

I've never read it. Shame you were a bit disappointed. Always annoying when that happens! There was a film based on the book called Room that I never went to see because I didn't want it to ruin the book.

Films are very rarely as good as the books!!

That is a long day. My days are 9 - 6 and I thought that was a hardship!

Well done. Good idea to ignore your Dad if he's winding you up. My Dad is a strange fish too. He brought me up on his own from when I was 4 until I was 10. It's a wonder I turned out so well adjusted, really... :P

Thanks. I got 4 A’s and a B in A levels and he’s going on about how I’m a failure for not getting a*s. We didn’t even have them in a levels in my day. He’s just looking for a reaction. Now he’s saying they bribed the media to tell me that so I didn’t feel bad. I wonder how I’m so well adjusted too ��

Oh Emma. That is not nice. You got amazing results and I don't know what he's on about with the media. Couldn't get A* at a A Level in my day either. It's good that you know he's just looking for a reaction and it's really positive that you're not giving him one.


See, my Dad doesn't say stuff like that. He often tells me that worrying about me makes him unwell and that I make him feel sick though. He sometimes accuses me of lying when I haven't at all. He went through phases where he couldn't be responsible for me when I was a kid, so I would go and live with my Nan for a while. I love him, but he's nutty as a fruitcake.

I genuinely think my dad is too. Although a lot of his is down to alcohol misuse but he had a hard childhood so I suppose it’s understandable. I’m sorry your dad isn’t great sometimes either. Thanks for listening to me rant.

A hard childhood is no excuse for being mean, even if there is alcohol involved. It explains it, but it doesn't mean it's OK. Keep ignoring him until you feel like you're ready to respond. Rant as much as you like. :)

Thanks. It's funny, my Dad and Nan raised me because my Mum walked out, but now I'm closer to my Mum. Mum had me when she was 16 so I can see why she left. It's a lot of responsibility to raise a child and when you're that young you don't want it. That and my Dad was awful to her. I used to be so cross, but have completely forgiven her. She is such a rock now. A superhero really, dealing with me so much!
